- To make each BEV battery, you’ll need to process 11,340 kg salt for lithium, 13,600 kg of cobalt ore, 2,268 kg of nickel resin and 11,340 kg of copper ore. Overall, you have to dig out 226,800 kg of soil for a battery. "
