The Insurrection Act - by Glenn Harlan Reynolds

So first, it’s discretionary to employ: “Whenever the President considers.” - Glenn Harlan Reynolds
With resistance to ICE in many blue cities, there’s been a lot of talk about Trump invoking the Insurrection Act.
There are other, lesser statutes that he can employ, but this is the big gun.
  • It intentionally gives the President enormous freedom and power to put down resistance to the law.
This is the relevant part of the Insurrection Act:
§252. Use of militia and armed forces to enforce Federal authority
Whenever the President considers that unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the authority of the United States, make it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States in any State by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, he may call into Federal service such of the militia of any State, and use such of the armed forces, as he considers necessary to enforce those laws or to suppress the rebellion.
  1. So first, it’s discretionary to employ: “Whenever the President considers.” This language leaves no room for judicial review, by design; it’s up to the President to determine when the predicates for invoking the Act apply.
  2. Second, this phrase, “unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the authority of the United States, make it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States in any State by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings,” seems to fit perfectly with what’s going on in places like Portland or Chicago.
  3. Third, discretionary language again: “as he considers necessary to enforce those laws or to suppress the rebellion.”
It’s entirely up to the President under the statute...

California Ignores Detainer and Releases Serial Criminal Illegal Alien; He Kills 6

“This serial criminal killed six innocent souls.Catherine Salgado
A serial criminal removed from the United States multiple times for being an illegal alien and arrested for multiple offenses, including drunk driving, was released last year by the state of California despite a federal detainer.
He subsequently murdered six people...
  • Unfortunately, however, the legal apparatus simply did not insist on holding him for his crimes, at least in sanctuary-state California.
“This serial criminal killed six innocent souls. Governor Newsom has blood on his hands. This serial criminal should have never been released by California authorities,” mourned Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a DHS press release
  • “Sanctuary policies protect the WORST OF THE WORST criminal illegal aliens. ICE will do everything in our power to remove this serial drunk driver, abuser, and drug user from our country.”...

Is Higher Education even interested in reform?

A new featured article by the AAUP calls viewpoint diversity anathema to academic freedom. - Greg Lukianoff, Samuel J. Abrams, and Adam Goldstein

No institution better embodies that reflex than the American Association of University Professors (AAUP).
Under its current leadership — President Todd Wolfson, who frames criticism of academia as part of “right-wing forces… striving to dismantle our institutions” — the AAUP has responded to legitimate calls for reform with a mix of denial and deflection...
This brings us to the latest entry in AAUP’s recent history of dodging reform: the lead essay in its flagship magazine, Academe.
It’s titledSeven Theses Against Viewpoint Diversity,” written by Lisa Siraganian, and it’s an unintentional masterclass in how to lose the moral high ground.

God bless!

The secret to Chick-fil-A's success has nothing to do with chicken | Blaze Media

The company is built on biblical values, honors the Sabbath, fosters servant-hearted leadership, and champions hospitality. These values are operational standards. They guide how team members respond to guests with “my pleasure,” how conflict is resolved, and even how franchise partners are selected.

Chick-fil-A didn’t set out with a customer-first strategy and later decide to care about people.

The sheer gaslighting, psychological projection and failure to acknowledge a superhuman accomplishment by the people who made the problem worse is the height of chutzpah

But, sadly, other than Fetterman and, bizarrely, a sober Hillary, they can't stand it and are openly wishing for peace to unravel. - Sev Onyshkevych

  • This is why the country has disavowed them.
Patricia Gordon - Blinker’s comments are absolutely bizarre! He was ejected from Israel and told never to return, that’s why the CIA director, Bill Burns had to step in as chief negotiator. Even he couldn’t get it done because Blinken was telling him to follow his instructions.

America needs new all-male academies to rebuild strength | Blaze Media

America needs new all-male academies to rebuild strength | Blaze Media

Every class, extracurricular, and academy event should directly relate to the military profession. This would almost certainly mean smaller course offerings, fewer Division I athletics, and fewer civilian professors without military experience. Above all, like VMI, West Point, and the Naval Academy, a student hierarchy (or chain of command) must be the definitive experience of academy life.

The FBI’s Flawed Data: The Real Numbers Behind Armed Citizens Stopping Shootings

FBI’s flawed accounting of active shooter incidents with regards to armed civilians stopping shooters. Lott’s research reveals that for over a decade, the FBI has drastically undercounted how often armed civilians stop active shooters — recording just a handful of cases while independent analysis found dozens more. - Maggie Miller & The Miller Report
A major discrepancy in FBI data is raising new questions about how America tracks gun violence...
  • We discuss why these numbers matter, what’s behind the FBI's reluctance to correct the record, and how bad data can distort policy on gun-free zones and public perception.
  • The full investigation complete with a link to the Crime Research Prevention Center's study showing the missed cases of the FBI can be found here.

Charlie Kirk was killed by a left that feels entitled to silence its enemies, by any means necessary.

How the ‘hate speech’ conceit fuels political violence - Heather Mac Donald
American conservatives have experienced a range of emotions in recent years, starting with amazement – amazement at the hypocrisy of the left.
  • How many times have we heard that US president Donald Trump’s attempts to reform universities threaten academic freedom? Many of the people making this accusation have run professors out of town for dissenting from campus orthodoxies, whether regarding ‘systemic racism’ or climate change...
  • When we hear complaints about Trump’s assaults on the press and on the entertainment complex, we recall that the Biden White House pressured social-media companies to censor dissenting views on Covid lockdowns and election integrity. We recall that Disney and NBC fired Gina Carano and Megyn Kelly for their politically incorrect views.
  • How many times has it been said that President Trump is waging a culture war?...
  • When we saw college professors, academic bureaucrats, students and school teachers celebrating the massacre of Israeli civilians on 7 October, where do we find common ground?...
  • But nothing prepared us for the reaction of the left to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
We face with blank incomprehension the question of how we move forward after what we have learned about our fellow citizens...

Obamas DHS Sec Backs GOP on Shutdown, Announces His 'Break From The Party Line' Over Shutdown

“I believe that Congress should vote to reopen the government,” Johnson said.

Senate Democrats voted again to keep the government shuttered, rejecting a bipartisan spending bill last week that would have reopened federal operations for the fifth time.

While three Democratic caucus members sided with Republicans, the rest of the party held the line, denying the bill the 60 votes needed to advance.

Trillions on pills, not prevention: The chronic disease cover-up | Blaze Media

Today, 60% of the American population have at least one chronic disease, and roughly 85% of the nation's $5.3 trillion annual health care spending goes toward treating chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, heart disease, and cancer. We know that the number-one factor in chronic disease is poor diet, and yet the government has long pushed the very highly processed foods that make us sick, while promoting pharmaceutical drugs as the magic answer.

Absolute MUST READ ALL!!-----Tylenol and Autism: More to the Story - American Thinker

Tylenol and Autism: More to the Story - American Thinker - Joan Swirsky
In 2020, the Atlanta-based U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that one in 36 children (approximately four percent of boys and one percent of girls) was estimated to have autism-spectrum disorder...
Besides the pros and cons, disturbing facts emerged, not the least of which is that the FDA knew about the Tylenol-autism link over a decade and a half ago...but did nothing!
Talk about “follow the money”!...
In the early 1980s, it was common for only one or two out of the ten women in my classes to have a sonogram.
In just a few years, every woman in my classes had had a sonogram.
And in the late ’80s and ’90s, almost every woman had not one sonogram, but often two or three or four or five — starting as early as three or four weeks’ gestation and extending, in some instances, right up to delivery!
It was in the ’90s, in fact, that it occurred to me that the scary rise in the incidence of autism might be linked to the significant rise in ultrasound exams...
  • In August 2006, Pasko Rakic, M.D., chair of Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Neurobiology, announced the results of a study in which pregnant mice underwent various durations of ultrasound. The brains of the offspring showed damage that was also found in the brains of people with autism.
  • The research, funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, also implicated ultrasound in neurodevelopmental problems in children, such as dyslexia, epilepsy, mental retardation, and schizophrenia, and showed that damage to brain cells increased with longer exposures.
  • Dr. Rakic’s study, Rodgers said, “is just one of many animal experiments and human studies conducted over the years indicating that prenatal ultrasound can be harmful to babies.”
