Universities treated free speech as expendable in 2025 | Blaze Media
Sooo much here, read all!-----Instapundit - BON APPÉTIT ANOINTS THE DEMOCRATS’ LATEST ‘NEXT BIG THING:’
- Back in 2007, Men’s Vogue suddenly put former North Carolina senator John Edwards on the cover. (An actual sentence from the profile: “The hair, up close, is peppered with tiny strands of blond. Chestnut brown and so finely trimmed, mellifluous, smooth, and feathery, it could almost be a weave, the Platonic ideal as imagined by the Hair Club for Men.”)
- Back in 2008, Men’s Health declared longtime smoker Barack Obama was one of the 25 fittest men in America.
- And who could forget Beto O’Rourke on the cover of Vanity Fair in 2019, declaring he was “was born” to be in the presidential race, with his glum-looking dog seeming to know how his presidential bid was going to go?
- Or the French fashion magazine Marie Claire putting failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams on the cover in 2021?
How Snatching Maduro Screws Up Everyone Else's Plans - Lemme Count the Ways
- My immediate thought had turned to Cuba, as I'd already mentioned how the US oil embargo was crimping an already crappy socialist lifestyle on that God-forsaken little island.
- The importance of the Venezuelan pipeline to the Cuban communist regime cannot be underestimated. Cuba didn't buy oil from Venezuela - it was given to them.
1. The End of the "Free Oil" Lifeline
For over two decades, the single most important pillar of the Cuban economy has been the "Barrio Adentro" agreement, which saw Venezuela ship roughly 50,000 barrels of oil per day to Havana essentially for free. With the US military now securing Venezuelan ports and oil fields following yesterday's operation, these shipments have hit zero overnight. Cuba, which is already cash-strapped, simply does not have the foreign currency reserves to buy this amount of oil on the open market at global prices, meaning the island's energy supply has effectively been cut in half instantly.
2. The Loss of the "Resale" Revenue Stream...
Fascinating conversation!-----"Trump just said of tariffs, "They've made our country rich!" If some taxes make us rich, why not still higher taxes to make us richer?"
- Kevin Gutzman: Trump just said of tariffs, "They've made our country rich!" If some taxes make us rich, why not still higher taxes to make us richer?
- Michael Spencer: Tariffs, used as a tool to repair the trade imbalances that exist today, are a net positive for our economy. If existing trade was fair and balanced, then no. But virtually all other countries erect trade barriers against us, using tariffs or other laws to excuse their barriers to free, open and fair trade....

Nobel-Winning Venezuelan Opposition Leader Humiliates Democrats: 'The Hour of Freedom Has Arrived'
In 2025 alone, the state of Oregon filed 52 lawsuits against the Trump administration — costing taxpayers $3.1 MILLION.
- Here’s the breakdown
$855,000 fighting the deployment of National Guard troops to stop chaos in Portland
$500,000 challenging tariffs
$115,000 suing over a temporary federal funding freeze
And millions more just to keep the legal war going
- Instead of fixing homelessness, public safety, drug addiction, or schools, Oregon’s leadership chose lawfare over governance.
Imagine what $3.1 million could’ve done for:
• Police staffing
• Mental health services
• Roads and infrastructure
• Wildfire prevention
But no — endless lawsuits were the priority.
18-year-old ISIS sympathizer who allegedly planned New Year's Eve terror attack in North Carolina is arrested | Blaze Media
Marco Rubio schools Margaret Brennan after she demands answers over why the U.S. did not arrest all of Nicolas Maduro's henchmen:
- It is not easy to land helicopters in the middle of the largest military base in the country, the guy lived on a military base, land within three minutes, kick down his door, grab him, put him in handcuffs, read him his rights, put him in a helicopter and leave the country without losing any American or any American assets.
- That's not an easy mission.
- I mean, that's absurd."
