A Bank of America vice president, Erin Piacenti, was killed Monday in a stabbing attack in Times Square that also injured a tourist, the company confirmed. Piacenti died at a hospital from stab wounds sustained in the attack, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said in a briefing.

Hawley sent a letter to Flock Safety CEO Garrett Langley requesting that he send all documents and information by Sept. 8 to investigate the company's "collection, retention, and dissemination" from its artificial intelligence (AI) powered surveillance cameras. The senator chairs the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism, which will lead the investigation.
