An "Interim Progress Update" was released Monday revealing the investigation "has uncovered new witnesses, new documents, new facts and will result in the most detailed and complete accounting of what happened in Benghazi."

5 Reasons The Qur'an Can Never 'Coexist' With The Constitution... Ever

5 Reasons The Qur'an Can Never 'Coexist' With The Constitution... Ever
So here’s your list. Top 5 reasons the Qur’an stands in direct opposition to the Constitution:

1.  It disallows free speech. First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law… abridging freedom of speech.” Qur’an: “Allah likes not the uttering of unseemly speech in public, except on the part of one who is being wronged…” (4:49) And, free speech expressed in the form of cartoons of Muhammad is a very, very bad idea. Unless you want to… you know.

2.  Women are to be second-class citizens. Nineteenth Amendment: “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” Not only do many Sharia-adhering countries not allow women to vote; they also don’t allow them to drive, or be educated, or hold government offices. War on women, maybe? To quote the Qur’an: “The Prophet said, ‘Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?’ The women said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.“  (Sura 2:282). If you’ve got a strong stomach, check out this lengthy list of anti-woman verses from the Qur’an. Muhammad wasn’t too kind to the ladies…

3.  The Qur’an allows for violence against one’s fellow man, if he’s not a Muslim. The preamble to the US Constitution makes it kinda clear what we’re going for in this country: “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty…”  Domestic tranquility. Common defense. General welfare. Contrast that with the Qur’an: “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” (8:12)  Yikes.

4.  Slavery’s cool. Especially if it involves women. Thirteenth Amendment of the Constititution: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” Interestingly, the Qur’an actually devotes more verses to ensuring Muslim men know they can keep women as sex slaves (4) than it does telling them to pray five times a day (0). “O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee.”  (33:50)

5.  Freedom of religion. According to the US Constitution’s First Amendment, Americans are guaranteed this: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” It can probably go without saying, considering hundreds of Christians have been brutally murdered by ISIS due to their faith in Christ; but the Qur’an doesn’t make quite the same allowances: “slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush.” (9:5) In fact, the Quran contains 109 passages that call Muslims to war against those who choose any other faith. Does that sound like a loving God; or maybe, could it be…

Politicians know this.-----This Is Your Brain on Easy Credit

This Is Your Brain on Easy Credit - WSJ:
"The illusion of continuous economic growth and the explosion of credit have thrown that balance out of whack.
Thanks to the seductive appeal of today’s consumer economy, perhaps for the first time in human history it is the affirmation of reward rather than the fear of punishment or failure that dominates the calculus of risk.
We have become addicted to the quick fix, be that tasty junk food, the electronic cocaine of the Internet, or the painless ease of a credit card purchase.

Research demonstrates that when presented with a choice between a reward now and a greater one after a delay—for instance, $80 today or $100 in two weeks—many of us will opt for the cash in hand, despite its lesser value.
Scientists call this temporal discounting.
Imaging studies using MRIs show that thinking about an immediate reward lights up the brain’s limbic system, which regulates emotion.
Thus passion prevails over reason.
That area of the brain is quieter when we’re considering a reward in the distant future, and thus logic wins out.
Would you rather have $80 in one year, or $100 in a year plus two weeks?
The question answers itself."

Moochelle our new "amerikan mom"----Why kids who aren’t poor are now getting free school lunches

Why kids who aren’t poor are now getting free school lunches - The Washington Post:
It used to be that students from families with low incomes qualified for lunches that were either free or available at a reduced price. That’s still true — but now, new federal rules allow kids who aren’t poor at many schools to get the same thing.
The change in the rules means not only that more kids will get to eat free- and reduced-price lunch but that what had been broadly used for years as a proxy for poverty rates among schoolchildren will no longer be useful for that purpose. Policymakers and researchers will have to find another measure of poverty...
Under the federal Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Program, which was established in 1946 during the presidency of Harry Truman, students whose families earned no more than 85 percent above the federal poverty line and below that amount could qualify. The percentage of students who qualified has been going up over the years, with some 38 percent in 2001-02 to at least 50 percent by 2011-12.  That is different from the official poverty rate of children under 18, which rose to 23 percent in 2013.
New rules that went into effect this year allow for something called the “Community Eligiblity Provision,” which allows schools and districts to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students if at least 40 percent of them of them would have qualified by the old rules....
Why is the federal government doing this? As noted above, it will reduce paperwork for families and schools, but it will also help reduce the stigma that some children feel about eating in a government-funded program at school. You can read more about the program here. The ultimate cost of the program is unclear because nobody yet knows how many students will participate.

Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan, complain that egg hunt is ‘offensive to Muslims’
Discrimination against other people is illegal in the U.S. but Muslims feel they have a “right” to discriminate against anyone who is a kafir in their eyes. In his suit and tie Majed Moughni clearly reveals his extremist leaning. Why would any normal person be upset about something as innocent as Easter Egg hunting? Only a Muslim would find it offensive and be that intolerant, bigoted and racist to another group of people. Why doesn’t the government get a clue and deport these people from the country, whether they are born there or not....

Muslim dad angry Easter egg hunt flyer distributed at public school: ‘It really bothered my two kids’

Majed Moughni is concerned that an ‘Eggstravaganza!’ was advertised at his boys’ school, saying it’s a clear violation of church and state when his taxpayer dollars are at work.

How much harm can he do in the next 21 months?-----Obama’s quiet nuclear deal with China raises proliferation concerns

Obama’s quiet nuclear deal with China raises proliferation concerns - The Washington Post:
"Not so typical was something that didn’t appear that day on the president’s public schedule: notification to Congress that he intends to renew a nuclear cooperation agreement with China.
The deal would allow Beijing to buy more U.S.-designed reactors and pursue a facility or the technology to reprocess plutonium from spent fuel.
China would also be able to buy reactor coolant technology that experts say could be adapted to make its submarines quieter and harder to detect.
The formal notice initially didn’t draw any headlines.
Its unheralded release on April 21 reflected the administration’s anxiety that it might alarm members of Congress and nonproliferation experts who fear China’s growing naval power — and the possibility of nuclear technology falling into the hands of third parties with nefarious intentions."

Almost Half Of US States Are Officially Broke

Almost Half Of US States Are Officially Broke | Zero Hedge:
...In fact, a new study from AP shows that big gaps are becoming more the rule than the exception across the US.
Via AP:
An Associated Press analysis of statehouse finances around the country shows that at least 22 states project shortfalls for the coming fiscal year. The deficits recall recession-era anxiety about plunging tax revenue and deep cuts to education, social services and other government-funded programs.

The sheer number of states facing budget gaps prompted Standard & Poor's Ratings Service to call the trend a sort of "early warning."

"After all, if a state is grappling with a budget deficit now, with the economic expansion approaching its sixth anniversary, what will be its condition when the next slowdown strikes?" credit analyst Gabriel Petek wrote in a recent report.
...A majority of states have failed to climb back to their pre-recession status, in terms of tax revenue, financial reserves and employment rates, said Barb Rosewicz, who tracks the fiscal health of states for The Pew Charitable Trusts.

DC Area Professor To Catholic University: Too Many Crosses On Campus For Muslim Students To Pray

DC Area Professor To Catholic University: Too Many Crosses On Campus For Muslim Students To Pray ⋆ Dc Gazette:
"It just got surreal.
George Washington University Law School Professor John Banzhaf filed a human rights complaint to the D.C. Office of Human Rights against Catholic University for hindering Muslim students’ free exercise of their faith due to the “excessive” amount of “Catholic imagery” on the campus. It seems that this man – who teaches at a different school across town – thinks that Catholic University’s adherence to the cultural aspects of Catholicism (we have a lot of artwork, Crucifixes, and statues in every nook and crany) keeps muslim students from praying the required five times a day.
Banzhaf, who already has a pending lawsuit against the university over ending its policy of allowing mixed-gender dormitories and has a history of filing civil rights suits on such topics as childhood obesity and smoking, filed the complaint alleging that Muslim students are not given their own prayer rooms.
He alleges that the university, “does not provide space – as other universities do – for the many daily prayers Muslim students must make, forcing them instead to find temporarily empty classrooms where they are often surrounded by Catholic symbols which are incongruous to their religion,” according to the Tower, Catholic University’s student newspaper.

Police report: Naked (DEMOCRAT) Sen. Smith confronted ex before shooting

Police report: Naked Sen. Smith confronted ex before shooting

Detroit — State Sen. Virgil Smith told police his ex-wife stormed into his house and assaulted his girlfriend before he did “the most stupid thing in his life” — opening fire at the ex-wife’s Mercedes Benz with a rifle — according to a police report obtained by The Detroit News.
He was naked when he met her at the front door, the senator’s ex-wife claims in a second police report, beat her with his fists, chased her outside and shot at her four or five times.
Police arrested Smith, D-Detroit, in connection with the shooting early Sunday morning outside his house in the 18000 block of Wexford on the city’s west side. Police Chief James Craig said police expect to seek charges of aggravated assault with a gun and malicious destruction of property...
In a statement given to Detroit Police investigators, Smith said his ex-wife, whose name is being withheld by The News, “was banging on the (the) bedroom window,” at about 1 a.m., the Detroit Police report said. Smith said he opened the front door, and that his ex-wife, “kicked the door open and pushed (past) him.
“(The ex-wife) went into (Smith’s) bedroom and observed a female ... in (Smith’s) bed. (Smith) stated that (the ex-wife) attempted to attack (the girlfriend),” the report said. “(Smith) grabbed (his ex-wife), they fell backwards, knocking over the television. (Smith) stated that (his ex-wife) attempted to attack (his girlfriend) again.”
...Smith represents the 4th Senate District, from the city's north side, south to Allen Park, Lincoln Park and Southgate. He was re-elected in 2014 to a second four-year term after defeating former state Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Detroit in a hard-fought Democratic primary. He previously served three terms in the Michigan House, following his father into politics.
In 2000, he had an arrest for minor in possession, according to Secretary of State spokesman Fred Woodhams. In February 2004, he had an operating while impaired by liquor offense; in August of that year, he faced an operating while intoxicated offense. His license was revoked in 2004, Woodhams said. It was fully reinstated in December 2008.
He has no points on his record...

If What a Legendary Journalist Is Claiming About the Bin Laden Raid Is True, It’s Quite Shocking | Video | TheBlaze.com:

“There are too many inaccuracies and baseless assertions in this piece to fact check each one,” White House national security spokesman Ned Price said in a statement. “Nevertheless, the notion that the operation that killed Usama Bin Ladin was anything but a unilateral U.S. mission is patently false. As we said at the time, knowledge of this operation was confined to a very small circle of senior U.S. officials. The President decided early on not to inform any other government, including the Pakistani Government, which was not notified until after the raid had occurred. We had been and continue to be partners with Pakistan in our joint effort to destroy al-Qa’ida, but this was a U.S. operation through and through.”

This is how they "think"----Is having a loving family an unfair advantage?

Is having a loving family an unfair advantage? - The Philosopher's Zone - ABC Radio National (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
...Now, philosophers Adam Swift and Harry Brighouse have felt compelled to conduct a cool reassessment.
Swift in particular has been conflicted for some time over the curious situation that arises when a parent wants to do the best for her child but in the process makes the playing field for others even more lopsided.
‘I got interested in this question because I was interested in equality of opportunity,’ he says.
...Once he got thinking, Swift could see that the issue stretches well beyond the fact that some families can afford private schooling, nannies, tutors, and houses in good suburbs.
Functional family interactions—from going to the cricket to reading bedtime stories—form a largely unseen but palpable fault line between families.
The consequence is a gap in social mobility and equality that can last for generations.
So, what to do?
According to Swift, from a purely instrumental position the answer is straightforward.
‘One way philosophers might think about solving the social justice problem would be by simply abolishing the family.
If the family is this source of unfairness in society then it looks plausible to think that if we abolished the family there would be a more level playing field.’

Professor requires students be naked in visual arts final exam or fail it

REPORT: Professor requires students be naked in visual arts final exam or fail it:
A University of California San Diego visual arts class requires students to perform naked as part of its final exam, a mandate that has one mother of a female student in the class furious, ABC KGTV-News reports.
The class, “Performing for the Self,” is made up of a series of “gestures,” and the final gesture – called “Erotic Self” – consists of the students and their male professor getting naked in a room lit only by candlelight, ABC News reported – adding that students have to be nude to pass the final.
The professor, Ricardo Dominguez, told the news outlet that the exam is “all very controlled,” and added students know what is expected, that if they are uncomfortable with the final “gesture” they should not take the class.
...But the professor alleges he’s taught the class that way for 11 years with no complaints.
After news of this final exam spread, school officials apparently released statements to concerned San Diego residents who emailed the school that walk back the professor’s own admission in a telephone interview to the news agency that it’s a requirement:
“The options are clarified in the class. Students learn that they can do the gesture in any number of ways without actually having to remove their clothes. There are many ways to perform nudity or nakedness, summoning art history conventions of the nude or laying bare of one’s ‘traumatic’ or most fragile and vulnerable self. One can ‘be’ nude while being covered.”

Grad student union contract includes right to be free of microaggressions
If you’re a woman ‘singled out’ for administrative work, that’s a contract violation
The University of Washington’s “academic student employees” are voting this week on whether hurting someone’s feelings should be “grievable” under their union’s contract with the school.
If approved, it would be the first known university union contract in the country to protect teaching assistants, tutors, readers and similar student employees against “microaggressions” in the workplace.
The 78-page tentative contract between UAW 4121 and the university, which covers everything from wages and health benefits to “lactation” and “bathroom equity,” indicates that agreement on microaggressions came at the tail end of negotiations in late April.
...The spokeswoman said there were “numerous” examples of microaggressions on campus against academic student employees, enough to make it a “pressing” issue in the union contract.
Recognizing microaggressions as grievable represents “the next level of discourse in this country around racism, sexism, and homophobia,” and will advance the cause of “a more inclusive campus for all academic student employees,” the spokeswoman said..."
