The Fundamental Transformation of America Has Happened | Glenn Beck

The Fundamental Transformation of America Has Happened | Glenn Beck:

"Is the press free? Can you actually say what you believe to be the truth? World Press Freedom, the watchdog, says freedom is now in decline in America, and there’s “a new anal of propaganda.”

Of course, there is.

Because that is exactly what progressives do: They use the media for propaganda. That is why you saw the White House Press Corps become a Hollywood Oscars moment.

It was started by Woodrow Wilson. And the idea was, bring the press in. So what happened when the Press Corps, when the White House Press Corps, the people covering the White House when they had all these celebrities come in —"

Bankrupt Detroit Public Schools to Open “Arabic” (Muslim) Vocational School

Bankrupt Detroit Public Schools to Open “Arabic” (Muslim) Vocational School: GOP Hack Behind Tax-Funded Immigration Bonanza:
The bankrupt, disastrous Detroit Public School system announced that it is opening an “Arabic” (translation: MUSLIM) vocational public school.
Yup, all tax-funded, alhamdulilah [praise allah], by you.
Congrats.
...While the Muslim population of the Detroit area was once confined to Dearbornistan, it has now spread to bordering Dearbornistan Heights (mostly controlled by Muslims now), Detroit (which also borders Dearbornistan), and other areas.
And, now, the bankrupt, ghettofied Detroit Public Schools (DPS), with over a billion in debt, has the money to spend on opening an Arabic “dual language” technical school
This is despite the fact that Michigan taxpayers just agreed (by force–the legislators voted for this boondoggle) to pay the DPS $720 million to bail out some of its debt. DPS will have an accumulated operating deficit of $236.8 million by the end of the current school year in June.
(No matter where you live in America, you paid for Detroit Public Schools.
It gets tens of millions of dollars from the feds, and the U.S. Department of Education is seeking repayment of $25 million to $30 million in overpayment of grant funds to DPS.
I’ll bet that’s a tiny sliver of what the Dept. of Ed. paid out to Detroit Public Schools.)
The school district is in such bad straits that it is–and has been–under the control of an emergency manager for several years.
The emergency manager is appointed by and reports to Islamopandering Michigan Republican Governor Rick Snyder.

VIDEO: Middle school group ordered to stop singing National Anthem at 9/11 Memorial

VIDEO: Middle school group ordered to stop singing National Anthem at 9/11 Memorial | EAGnews.org:
NEW YORK – A middle school chorus’ impromptu performance of the National Anthem outside of the 9/11 Memorial this week provided students with an interesting lesson on how big government works.
The Waynesville Middle School chorus was visiting the memorial from North Carolina and stopped at the 9/11 Memorial Wednesday.
The group asked a security guard if they could sing the National Anthem and was granted permission, WLOS reports.
Apparently, simply asking for permission isn’t the proper procedure.
“WMS chorus singing @ Twin Towers Memorial. They stopped them half the way thru,” parent Connie Shepherd Scanlon posted to Facebook, along with a video of the incident..."

BREAKING: Tennessee Assembly Declares War on Obama, Refugees

BREAKING: Tennessee Assembly Declares War on Obama, Refugees:

"The state of Tennessee has a thing or two to say about President Barack Obama’s refugee resettlement program — and we can bet he’s not going to like them.

The Tennessee General Assembly declared on Tuesday that it will sue the federal government over Obama’s program on 10th Amendment grounds. The State Senate passed the resolution in a 29-4 vote just one day after the resolution passed the Tennessee House by a 69-25 vote.

“Today we struck a blow for Liberty by finally adopting SJR467,” state Sen. Mark Norris told Breitbart."

Nebraska Just Abolished Civil Forfeiture, Now Requires A Criminal Conviction To Take Property

Nebraska Just Abolished Civil Forfeiture, Now Requires A Criminal Conviction To Take Property - Forbes:
"Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts signed a bill on Tuesday that eliminates civil forfeiture, which allows law enforcement to seize and keep property without filing charges or securing criminal convictions. The bill, LB 1106, passed the unicameral legislature last week by a vote of 38 to 8.
Civil forfeiture has ensnared a wide swath of victims in Nebraska.
A Peruvian pastor once had $14,000 seized during a traffic stop.
Only after the local chapter of the ACLU intervened was he able to recover his cash.
Last year, a federal appellate court upheld forfeiting more than $63,000 in savings from a decorated Air Force veteran, even though he was never charged with a crime.
The newly signed law provides sweeping reforms.
First and foremost, Nebraska now requires a criminal conviction to forfeit property.
The accused must be convicted of an offense involving illegal drugs, child pornography or illegal gambling to lose their cash, vehicles, firearms or real estate.
Nebraska joins just nine other states that require a criminal conviction as a prerequisite for most or all forfeiture cases.
Following North Carolina and New Mexico, Nebraska is now the third state largely without civil forfeiture.
In addition to the criminal conviction requirement, LB 1106 also enacts new reporting requirements for seizures and forfeitures."

Ethanol Is Bad for Cars, the Environment, the Poor, and America

Ethanol Is Bad for Cars, the Environment, the Poor, and America | Foundation for Economic Education
Burning food for fuel does not sound like the best idea.
However, that is precisely what US ethanol policy requires.
...More importantly, thanks to Congress, we have a federal mandate that requires retailers to blend about 13 billion gallons of corn ethanol per year into the gasoline they sell to the public.
That mandate is just another form of subsidy because it requires motorists to buy a fuel that, on an energy-equivalent basis costs more than conventional gasoline.
Making matters worse, ethanol is corrosive, hydrophilic (meaning it absorbs water), and it’s bad for small engines.
...Do biofuels actually reduce carbon emissions?
RB: The claim that biofuels reduce greenhouse gas emissions is one of the biggest fibs of the modern age.
The EPA’s own data shows that corn ethanol is worse for the environment than conventional gasoline..."

"...This week, we have a special exclusive with Curt Schilling, the unapologetically non-PC, former MLB pitcher.
By now you probably know that he was fired from ESPN.
He recently got into some hot tranny water with the network.
But before that even, he stirred some PC pots by suggesting Muslim extremists were like Nazis. Yeah, we’re fans.
And we were fortunate to be given his VERY FIRST interview since the incident.
Without further ado, here’s our interview with Curt Schilling.

Yes!!-----Hearing Aid Business Under Pressure From Consumer Electronics

Hearing Aid Business Under Pressure From Consumer Electronics - Slashdot:
HughPickens.com writes:"There's good news for aging Americans who may have damaged their hearing by attending one too many rock concerts when they were youngAndrew Pollack writes at the NYT that the consumer electronics industry is encroaching on the hearing aid business, offering products that are far less expensive and available without the involvement of audiologists or other professionals. The new devices are forcing a re-examination of the entire system for providing hearing aids, which critics say is too costly and cumbersome, hindering access to devices vital for the growing legions of older Americans. "The audiology profession is obviously scared, for good reason, right now," says Abram Bailey.
Hearing aids cost an average of nearly $2,400 each, or close to $5,000 a pair, according to a White House advisory group, and Medicare does not pay for them, nor do most insurers.
By contrast, the consumer devices are not regulated and sell for a few hundred dollars apiece, at most. Hearing aid manufacturers say that diagnosing and treating hearing loss is too complex for consumers to do using consumer devices, without the aid of a professional. But sound amplifiers have been around for years and they are growing in sophistication, taking advantage of signal processing chips developed for phones, Bluetooth headsets and computers. The devices include the Smart Listening System from Soundhawk, which sells at $400 for a single ear; the Bean from Etymotic Research, at $300; the CS50+ from Sound World Solutions at $350; and the Crystal Ear from NeutronicEar, at $545. "To me it was a reasonable investment to experiment with," says Ira Dolich, 81, who bought the Soundhawk device, which he can adjust by himself using his smartphone. "I've been pretty pleased with it," he said."

These 7 Predictions From The Original Earth Day Were Way Off

These 7 Predictions From The Original Earth Day Were Way Off | The Daily Caller
From predicting the end of civilization to classic worries about peak oil, here are seven environmentalist predictions that were just flat out wrong.
1: “Civilization Will End Within 15 Or 30 Years”
Harvard biologist Dr. George Wald warned shortly before the first Earth Day in 1970 that civilization would soon end “unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” Three years before his projection, Wald was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine.
Wald was a vocal opponent of the Vietnam War and the nuclear arms race. He even flew to Moscow at one point to advise the leader of the Soviet Union on environmental policy.
Despite his assistance to a communist government, civilization still exists. The percentage of Americans who are concerned about environmental threats has fallen as civilization failed to end by environmental catastrophe.
2: “100-200 Million People Per Year Will Be Starving To Death During The Next Ten Years”
Stanford professor Dr. Paul Ehrlich declared in April 1970 that mass starvation was imminent. His dire predictions failed to materialize as the number of people living in poverty has significantly declined and the amount of food per person has steadily increased, despite population growth. The world’s Gross Domestic Product per person has immeasurably grown despite increases in population.
Ehrlich is largely responsible for this view, having co-published “The Population Bomb” with The Sierra Club in 1968. The book made a number of claims including that millions of humans would starve to death in the 1970s and 1980s, mass famines would sweep England leading to the country’s demise, and that ecological destruction would devastate the planet causing the collapse of civilization.

Bernie's plan: Make America European again!

Glenn Reynolds - Bernie's plan: Make America European again!:
"In conventional political thought, Democrats are always trying to make America more European — Higher taxes! Free college! A smaller military! — while Republicans are a passel of cowboys who view Europe as a bunch of socialist libertines.
But, as with much of conventional political thought, this isn’t quite right.
And if the Republicans really want to mess with Democrats’ minds, perhaps they should launch a new campaign to make America more like Europe.
A good place to start would be with the Scandinavian countries that Bernie Sanders often uses as a model.
Sanders’ problem is that the Scandinavia he has in mind is the Scandinavia of the 1970s. Scandinavians today have learned a few things since then, which Bernie seems to have missed.
As Swedish pundit Johan Norberg writes:
“Sanders is right: America would benefit hugely from modeling her economic and social policies after her Scandinavian sisters.
But Sanders should be careful what he wishes for.
When he asks for ‘trade policies that work for the working families of our nation and not just the CEOs of large, multi-national corporations,’ Social Democrats in Sweden would take this to mean trade liberalization — which would have the benefit of exposing monopolist fat cats to competition — not the protectionism that Sanders favors. ...
Being more like modern Sweden actually means deregulation, free trade, a national school voucher system, partially privatized pensions, no property tax, no inheritance tax, and much lower corporate taxes.
Sorry to burst your bubble, Bernie.”...

Physicist Clears the Air on Climate Change: Doomsday Scenarios Sell | Glenn Beck

Physicist Clears the Air on Climate Change: Doomsday Scenarios Sell | Glenn Beck:

"Climate change is an urgent topic of discussion among politicians, journalists and celebrities…but what do scientists say about climate change? Does the data validate those who say humans are causing the earth to catastrophically warm? Richard Lindzen, an MIT atmospheric physicist and one of the world’s leading climatologists, summarizes the science behind climate change.

According to Lindzen, there are basically three groups of people dealing with this issue. Groups one and two are scientists. Group three consists mostly, at its core, of politicians, environmentalists and the media."

Detroit Free Press!!-----Major Restaurant Critic: “My Job is to Promote Social Justice, Labor Rights”

Major Restaurant Critic: “My Job is to Promote Social Justice, Labor Rights” – The Bernie Sanders Food Critic:
"...And that’s where the newspaper’s newly-inducted restaurant critic, Mark Kurlyandchik–a hipster who previously worked for Al-Jazeera America–comes in.
On Sunday, in a half-page column, Kurlyandchik introduced himself as the new critic, “replacing” the paper’s fabulous, retired former critic Sylvia Rector...
In his introduction, Kurlyandchik, an attendee of UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism and tattooed self-styled filmmaker (the ultimate experience for being a food critic!), slipped in what his real agenda will be when he reviews restaurants:
Bernie-Sanders-esque, Al-Jazeerafied politics. Kurlyandchick declared that he will review restaurants
"...through my own lens, using Detroit’s food scene as a window into all the issues it touches: environmental sustainability, social justice, labor rights, economic development and equality."
HUH?!
Um, whatever happened to reviewing restaurants based on the quality of the food, the level of service, and the ambiance of the dining experience and location?
Now, this Al-Jazeera hipster will apparently rate restaurants based on whether they donate a portion of profits to “Syrian refugees” or pay their employees $15 per hour and give them six weeks paid family leave a la his previous home of San Francisco.
He already noted in a review of one of the restaurants he picked among Detroit’s top ten for the year, that he liked the fact that the wait staff were pierced and tattooed.
Really?
Does that make your food more delectable–that the person serving it has more outlets from which to ooze germs and disease?.."

Chelsea Clinton: Now That Scalia's Gone We Can ENACT GUN CONTROL (VIDEO) - Progressives Today:
While campaigning for her mother recently, Chelsea Clinton admitted that the left is planning to use the Supreme Court to enact greater gun control if a Democrat wins the presidency this fall.
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
Chelsea Clinton: Gun Control Opportunity on Supreme Court With Scalia Gone
Chelsea Clinton said Thursday at an event in Maryland that there is now an opportunity for gun control legislation to pass the Supreme Court since Justice Antonin Scalia passed away. “It matters to me that my mom also recognizes the role the Supreme Court has when it comes to gun control. With Justice Scalia on the bench, one of the few areas where the Court actually had an inconsistent record relates to gun control,” Clinton said. “Sometimes the Court upheld local and state gun control measures as being compliant with the Second Amendment and sometimes the Court struck them down.”Clinton then touted her mother’s record on gun control issues and knowledge that the Supreme Court has an effect on whether many gun control laws stand.

American hero!-----Put Harriet Tubman on the $20 Bill

Put Harriet Tubman on the $20 Bill | Cato Institute:
"...Tubman would be a great choice to replace him.
She represents the best of America.
She was born between 1820 and 1822 in Maryland to slave parents.
She was christened Araminta Ross and her mother fought hard to hold the family together. Tubman was hired out and often beaten.
She suffered permanent harm but her strong Christian faith helped sustain her.
After her owner’s death in 1849, which led his widow to begin selling their slaves, she escaped through the Underground Railroad to Philadelphia.
However, a year later she returned to Maryland to rescue her niece and the latter’s two children, beginning a career of leading slaves to freedom.
Frederick Douglass may have hosted one of her groups, sheltering it and raising money to send the fugitives on to Canada.
She was daring and creative; her plans were sophisticated.
Although she trusted God she also saw value in arming herself.
Among the 70 or so slaves she saved were her three brothers.
She also helped instruct scores of other escapees.
Neither she nor any of those she guided were captured.
She directed her last rescue in December 1860.
Tubman also was an active abolitionist and lecturer, friendly with New York Senator William Seward.
She aided John Brown, though she played no direct role in his raid on Harpers Ferry.
During the Civil War she pressed abolition on the Lincoln administration.
With greater effect she aided slave refugees, served as a nurse, and acted as a scout for the federal army.
Long after the war she aided the cause of women’s suffrage, working with Susan Anthony, among others.
Despite manifold health problems she lived past 90, dying in 1913.
It’s an incredible legacy.
Tubman fought enormous injustice and promoted human liberty.
She advocated genuine equality of opportunity, allowing women to vote, rather than the sort of PC notions of equality popular today.
She exhibited courage in fighting and breaking unjust laws.
She was no ivory tower theorist, but took the lead in putting her views into action.
She never saw her work as done, but constantly joined anew the battle for freedom.
Never did she wait for bureaucrats, politicians, judges, lawyers, and others to act. Instead, she acted to rescue the oppressed..."

"We are headed to a contested convention. At this point nobody is getting 1,237," Cruz predicted in a Wednesday interview with CBS Radio in Philadelphia. Cruz was referring to the number of delegates needed to lock down the Republican nomination before the party's July convention in Cleveland.

The Texas senator pointed out that while "Donald is going to talk all the time about other folks not getting to 1237, he's not getting there either.""

Muslim Biological Fallout From 50 Generations of First Cousin Marriages

Muslim Biological Fallout From 50 Generations of First Cousin Marriages |:
"During the pilot transition program with the KV-107 and C-130 with Lockheed, we found that most Saudi pilot trainees had very limited night vision, even on the brightest of moonlit nights.
Their training retention rate was minimal including maintenance personnel.
Some had dim memories and had to be constantly reminded of things that were told to them the day before.
An American, British or any other western instructor is burned out pretty quick.
It actually took Muslim C-130 pilots years before they could fly in the dark safely and then would be reluctant to leave the lights of a city.
Ask any Marine, Air Force or Army guy who’s been trying to train Iraqis, and especially Afghans. Islam is not only a religion; it’s a way of life all the way around.

"Progressive Today" going after Bernie?!!-----Bernie Sanders' Wife May Have Steered BUSINESS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS

REPORT: Bernie Sanders' Wife May Have Steered BUSINESS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS - Progressives Today:
"Allegations of corruption against Bernie Sanders; wife Jane during her time leading Burlington College are beginning to pile up and the media refuses to address the story.
Heat Street just released this report:
Did Bernie Sanders’ Wife Steer Contracts to Friends and Family?
Bernie Sanders’ wife, Jane, ran Burlington College from 2004 to 2011, eventually leaving as the small Vermont college came under financial pressure. Part of the reason for the school’s fiscal strain was a real-estate deal gone bad. Some local Catholic parishioners have now accused her of loan fraud in connection with the deal. (See details here .)
But there were other worrisome allegations against Jane Sanders from her time at the college. The Washington Free Beacon recently broke news that under Ms. Sanders’ leadership, the college enrolled students at a Vermont woodworking school run by Ms. Sanders’ daughter. Between 2009 and 2011, the college paid more than $328,000 to the woodworking school, Burlington disclosed in its tax filings.
And between 2009 and 2011, the school also spent more than $77,000 at a resort in the Bahamas owned by a board member who was also a friend and trusted adviser to Bernie Sanders, the college’s tax filings show.
Court records show students went on trips there, snorkeling and taking boat tours. Watchdog.org reported that the same old friend, Jonathan Leopold, was a “key broker” on an ambitious acquisition of Roman Catholic diocese property that left Burlington in dire financial straits. (This Heat Street separate story delves into the allegations that Jane Sanders committed “loan fraud” as part of the purchase of this desirable property. )
Shortly after Ms. Sanders departed, taking a $200,000 severance package with her, Burlington College stopped spending money at both her daughter’s woodworking school and the resort owned by Leopold’s son.
There’s more here.
When is the media going to start reporting this?
Last fall, the Washington Post did a story about the traffic tickets of Marco Rubio’s wife.
Isn’t this a much bigger story?"

We git what we deserve-----Trustee's 18 months of paid absences prompts attendance policy changes in Ypsilanti Township

Trustee's 18 months of paid absences prompts attendance policy changes in Ypsilanti Township | MLive.com:
"YPSILANTI, MI -- Ypsilanti Township Trustee Jean Hall Currie hasn't attended a Board of Trustees meeting since October 2014 due to an unspecified illness.
Jean Hall Currie.pngBut she's still receiving paychecks, and will continue to do so until her term is up in November.
Already taxpayers have paid Hall Currie around $22,000 for her no shows.
That's an issue to Ypsilanti Township leaders, but there's nothing within the state law that allows them to withhold her payment or remove her from the Board.
...Trustees are paid for $15,000 for 20 meetings each calendar year, not including special meetings
...Though she's quieter than the other elected officials at the board table, Hall Currie, who has served as a trustee since 1988, is popular in terms of votes received.
In the 2012 election, she received the most votes of a dozen trustee candidates with 3,088, representing just under 20 percent of the count.

Firms that paid for Clinton speeches have US gov't interests:
"WASHINGTON (AP) — It's not just Wall Street banks.
Most companies and groups that paid Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to speak between 2013 and 2015 have lobbied federal agencies in recent years, and more than one-third are government contractors, an Associated Press review has found.
Their interests are sprawling and would follow Clinton to the White House should she win election this fall.
The AP's review of federal records, regulatory filings and correspondence showed that almost all the 82 corporations, trade associations and other groups that paid for or sponsored Clinton's speeches have actively sought to sway the government — lobbying, bidding for contracts, commenting on federal policy and in some cases contacting State Department officials or Clinton herself during her tenure as secretary of state..."

Lawyer, family: 7-Eleven, bystanders failed assault victim before he died - Chicago Tribune:
On Feb. 7, 2016, Marques Gaines was punched and knocked unconscious into a crosswalk outside a 7-Eleven on the Near North Side, where he lay before a taxi ran over him.
Surveillance video released Wednesday captures the last moments of a popular hotel cocktail server who was punched and knocked unconscious, landing in a Near North crosswalk.
The footage also shows more than a dozen bystanders failing to come to his aid in the nearly two minutes before a cab accidentally drives over him.
...Attorney Chris Hurley said the 7-Eleven's operator knew the area surrounding the store suffered from high street crime and should have had well-trained security that could have prevented the actions that led to Gaines' death.
"The simple reason we're here is that a corporation that keeps its stores open 24 hours a day and invites the public in … that knows that it's targeted by criminals needs to provide decent, competent, basic security, and that wasn't done here," he said.
"There's a clear photograph of the aggressor and a clear video of him attacking Marques Gaines.
He hasn't been arrested, and we don't know why," Hurley added..."
