Obamacare enrollment at 11.1M, as some drop off after premium bills come due:
Federal health officials in a new report say that about 11.1 million people were enrolled in Obamacare insurance plans as of the end of March.
That's 1.6 million or so fewer people than had actually selected a plan on one of the government-run health marketplaces by the close of the third season of open enrollment in February.
The drift-down, which was expected, is largely a result some people who had selected a plan not making their first month's premium payments once they came due.
For enrollment to be considered official that payment has to be made.
..."The Obamacare exchange business has clearly hit a ceiling," said Robert Laszewski, an Obamacare critic who runs Health Policy and Strategy Associates.
...Another concern for Obamacare advocates come from premium prices proposed for 2017.
Many plans are calling for double-digit percentage hikes next year, higher than had been proposed in prior years.
...Nearly 85 percent, or 9.4 million of all Obamacare customers, received federal subsidies, or tax credits, to help lower the cost of their monthly premiums.
Those subsidies are available to people who have low or moderate household incomes earning between one and four times the federal poverty level, or $20,090 to $80,360 for a family of three.
Premium subsidies can significantly reduce the actual premiums paid by a customer, particularly if they have lower incomes.
The average subsidy nationally was $291 per month..."

D’Amato told Maria Bartiromo that Hillary allowed Russia to take ownership of US uranium so they could sell it to Iran.

"Hillary made it possible for the Russians to take control of one of our huge uranium producers and allow them to own the company, export the uranium and who do they sell the uranium to? 
Iran! 
Now if people knew that and that the foundation as a result of that got $135 million. 
I think people would start saying, “What?".

It’s true.

In January 2013, Pravda celebrated the Russian atomic energy agency’s purchase of the company “Uranium One” in Canada.

That same company, Uranium One, owned uranium concessions in the United States. Because uranium is a strategically important commodity, the Russians would need approval from the Obama administration, including Hillary’s State Department, before the purchase took place.

Nine shareholders in Uranium One just happened to provide more than $145 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation in the run-up to State Department approval.

The Clintons took the cash from Uranium One officials before the deal was approved by Hillary Clinton’s State Department. 
The Clintons hid the donations which is a clear violation of the Memorandum of Understanding Hillary Clinton signed with the Obama administration wherein she promised and agreed to publicly disclose all donations during her tenure as Secreatary of State. (Via Breitbart)

We should be mourning the fact that we left the United Kingdom, not cheering it.
Of course, evaluating the wisdom of the American Revolution means dealing with counterfactuals.

This explains the blank résumé of Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton: she "was" the first lady; she "was" a senator from New York; she "was" secretary of state – so what? 
Her statements are all utterly scripted and given to a doting establishment media that never, ever challenges her inconsistencies or asks anything hard.
The pabulum of global warming is accepted as easily as Soviet scientists accepted the idiocy of Lysenko. 
The same predictable "solutions" are offered for every single problem: more "investment" on education and infrastructure, stronger gun control laws, more draconian environmental regulations, more "diversity," and more of everything that has never worked in America anywhere and anytime it has been tried.
No one on the left ever needs to think at all, and those who do think risk losing tenure, getting fired from network news programs, and being demonized as racist or sexist or reactionary or something equally silly.
Because independent thinking itself is dangerous, no leftist cadre dares to risk trying to think – just read the script, regurgitate the familiar dogma, and keep a closed mind.
Moreover, these folks keep telling each other how smart they are, and no one ever tells them differently.

This week Citizens Against Government Waste released their annual Prime Cuts 2016 report, which is a detailed list of which pork can be cut from the orgy of spending that occurs in Washington. 
...In all, there were 618 recommendations to get spending under control.
In crunching the numbers, CAGW found that there were $644.1 billion in immediate savings, with $2.6 trillion over the next five years if all of the recommendations were acted upon in the report. 
That could lead to a balanced budget in a year:

…[I]f all of the Prime Cuts recommendations were adopted, a balanced budget could be achieved in one year. Since CAGW’s inception in 1984, the implementation of its recommendations has helped save taxpayers $1.4 trillion.

We seem to have forgotten that the West’s system of government and general political outlook has traditionally been rooted in the idea that all men commit both good and evil, and that some evil cannot be remedied by any means other than force.
Such thinking was long rooted in the Christian view of the fallen nature of man.
It was believed that all men were affected by original sin and therefore had an evil side to them.
Some men fought against the evil within, while others gave themselves over to it.
In pop-culture terms, think Darth Sidious.
The greatest defense against the dark side of man’s nature was to raise children with a moral compass so that individuals could govern themselves.
Nonetheless, there was a recognition that even the best of us commit evil and, therefore, government was seen as necessary to restrain the destructive tendencies of man’s nature.
The danger in government, though, was that the darkest of man’s desires could harness its power for selfish desires which would lead to absolute despotism. 
In recent history, think Hitler, Stalin, or Mao.
But there is also another kind of man, the destroyer. 
He is a variant of man’s desire to have power.
While some men want power to create something that exalts them, other men find the fulfillment of power by destroying everything. 
There can be nothing over them and in this way they give themselves over to their desires at the expense of all others.
The recent Batman movie, The Dark Knight, popularized this attitude in Alfred’s well-known warning to Bruce Wayne:

It is something to keep in mind as the West debates open borders, domestic crime, and how to solve all of the evils that bedevil us and the world.
If indeed good and evil are a part of the human condition then the best we can do is to try and teach children what is right and wrong as well as establishing and maintaining just laws that balance freedom and order while containing the destructive tendencies innate in all of us.

The district takes it on the chin when principals, vice principals, department heads and other administrators are absent, which happens quite frequently.
The district also takes it on the chin when they come to work, because they receive healthy payouts for unused sick days, as well as attendance bonuses.
Under terms of the district’s contract with the administrator union, employees earn one paid sick day per month and can bank up to 220 unused sick days.
They are also given between 25 and 30 paid vacation days per year, depending on when they were hired.
Does such a policy encourage employees to miss work? 
Apparently so.
In 2014-15, 306 Rochester administrators took 3,554 sick days, for an average of 11.61 per employee.
They also took 3,973 vacation days, for an average of 12.95 per employee.
They are allowed to take up to three paid personal days, and averaged just over two per employee.
They took 1,860 paid miscellaneous leave days for an average of 6.08 per employee.
That comes out to an average of about 33 days of paid absences per year per employee.
...According to the Democrat and Chronicle, just 3.8% of Rochester 8th graders were proficient or better in reading and writing, while a shocking .8% — yes, less than 1% — of 8th graders were proficient in math.
But then there was the headache of paying off administrators with good attendance habits.
Employees are allowed to bank up to 40 unused vacation days and cash them in when they leave the district.
Those who retire with at least 15 years of consecutive service, and used fewer than 15 sick days in the previous five years, are also given a $10,000 bonus..."

For sheer stupidity and incompetence, this incident involving the TSA and a disabled teenage girl suffering from brain cancer who was savagely thrown to the floor when she became confused about a metal detector going off can't be beat.

Why these bullies weren't thrown in jail is a mystery.

Seventeen-year-old Hannah Cohen was preparing to fly from Memphis to her home in Chattanooga with her parents last year. 
Hannah was going home following her annual treatments at St. Jude hospital for brain cancer.

She passed through the metal detectors, setting off an alarm -- and what happened next will make your blood boil.

Hit and Run:

Her years of treatment left the teenager partially deaf, blind in one eye, and limited in her abilities to walk and talk. She also, according to her mother, can become easily confused.

When Hannah went through the metal detector at the airport, an alarm went off. Disoriented by the noise, she did not immediately cooperate with TSA agents who asked to conduct further screening.

Shirley Cohen tried to inform the agents about her daughter's disabilities, she told television station WREG, but airport police kept her away. That's when the situation between Hannah and the TSA officials became violent:

"She's trying to get away from them but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor. There was blood everywhere," said [Shirley].

Security personnel arrested Hannah (though all charges against her were later dropped), and what should have been a night of celebration with family and friends because a night of terror and confusion in a jail cell..."

What a strange coincidence?
Former UN official John Ashe “accidentally” crushed his own throat and died a week before he was scheduled to testify against the Clintons and Democrat Party.
Zero Hedge reported:

Call it conspiracy theory, coincidence or just bad luck, but any time someone is in a position to bring down Hillary Clinton by testifying they wind up dead. In fact, there’s a long history of Clinton-related body counts, with scores of people dying under mysterious circumstances.

Perhaps the most notable is Vince Foster. Foster was a partner at Clinton’s law firm and knew the inner workings of the Clinton Machine. Police ruled that death a suicide, though it is often noted that Foster may have been suicided.

Now, another official has found himself on the wrong end of the Clintons. That John Ashe was a former President of the United Nations General Assembly highlights the fact that no one is safe once in their sights.

And as you might have guessed, there are major inconsistencies with Ashe’s death. It was not only conveniently timed because Ashe died just a few days before being set to testify against Clinton in a corruption case, but official reports indicated he died of a heart attack.

The problem, however, is that police on the scene reported Ashe died when his throat was crushed during a work-out accident.

The New York Post’s Page Six reported that after Ashe was found dead Wednesday, the U.N. claimed that he had died from a heart attack. Local police officers in Dobbs Ferry, New York, later disputed that claim, saying instead that he died from a workout accident that crushed his throat.

Adding to the mysterious nature of Ashe’s death was the fact that he had been slated to be in court Monday with his Chinese businessman co-defendant Ng Lap Seng, from whom he reportedly received over $1 billion in donations during his term as president of the U.N. General Assembly.

And then there was this: During the presidency of Bill Clinton, Seng illegally funneled several hundred thousand dollars to the Democrat National Committee.
