Incredible Number of U.S. Colleges Now Offer Socialistic ‘Social Justice’ Degrees
"A new report issued by College Fix reporter Toni Airaksinen has found that more than 100 colleges across the country are now offering academic programs (minors, majors, graduate degrees, concentrations, certificates, etc.) in “social justice” fields.
“The Fix found at least 64 American colleges that offer minors in social justice or a substantially similar field, such as social justice leadership,” Airaksinen reported.
“At least 18 offer four-year degrees in the field, and at least 15 offer master’s degrees.”
...For instance, at Rutgers University, a public school in New Jersey, undergrads can minor in “social justice.”
One of the courses offered, “Practicing Social Justice,” requires students actually participate in leftist causes.
Readings about social change efforts are combined with student participation in community mobilizations, labor organizing efforts, political campaigns, and transnational social movement and NGO activism.”
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.
Leftists have been dominating college campuses for the better part of the past 60 years, and their efforts have most certainly paid off..."

Army's Transgender Training Addresses MALE Pregnancies — Todd Starnes:
"The Army has begun mandatory transgender sensitivity training for soldiers.
The training covers everything from “transfemale” soldiers to transgender shower etiquette to dealing with a male soldier who becomes pregnant.
...The matter of male soldiers with child is tucked away inside the Army’s “Policy on the Military Service of Transgender Soldiers Training Module, Tier 2: Commanders and Leaders.”
...“The training module specifically outlines key roles and responsibilities of commanders, transgender soldiers, military medical providers and administrative management organizations,” Lt. Col. Jennifer Johnson told USA Today.
“This training is mandatory for all uniformed members, as well as Department of the Army civilians.”...

"...If Sen. Schumer and House Minority Leader Pelosi want to investigate attempts to work with Moscow to influence a U.S. election, they should investigate Sen. Ted Kennedy's attempt to get the Russians to help him prevent the re-election of President Ronald Reagan in 1984.
As Peter Robinson wrote in Forbes in 2009, London Times reporter John Sebastian, poring in 1991 over Soviet archives Boris Yeltsin had made public, found a memorandum detailing another instance of Sen. Ted Kennedy going a bridge too far:

As Peter Robinson wrote in Forbes in 2009, London Times reporter John Sebastian, poring in 1991 over Soviet archives Boris Yeltsin had made public, found a memorandum detailing another instance of Sen. Ted Kennedy going a bridge too far:
Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov, the top man in the entire USSR. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy."On 9-10 May of this year," the May 14 memorandum explained, "Sen. Edward Kennedy's close friend and trusted confidant [John] Tunney was in Moscow." (Tunney was Kennedy's law school roommate and a former Democratic senator from California.) "The senator charged Tunney to convey the following message, through confidential contacts, to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Y. Andropov."Kennedy's message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. "The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations," the memorandum stated. "These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign."

Mark Levin masterfully obliterates liberal Trump ‘obstruction’ narrative in just 3 quick points – TheBlaze:
"The firebrand radio host then went on to excoriate Comey for saying Hillary Clinton needed to have shown “specific intent” to violate criminal statutes by retaining classified information on her private email server despite the statute in question not requiring intent. But when it comes to Trump and the allegation of obstruction of justice, Democrats are trying to rewrite statutes to pin Trump with some kind of wrongdoing.
“So they change the standard for Hillary” to make it harder to prosecute her, but “they lower the standard for [obstruction for] Trump because they want him out,” Levin added."

Michigan is Spending As Much on State Police Pensions as Salaries [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
One out of every five dollars spent by the state police last year went for retirement benefits, according to the Senate Fiscal Agency.
Total state police spending in the 2015-16 fiscal year was $640.1 million, with $115.7 million of this going toward the retirement system.
That compares to $118.1 million paid in gross wages to employees.
...James Hohman, assistant director of fiscal policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, said that underfunding is causing the state police to vastly overpay for benefits.
“State troopers are offered generous retirement benefits and that’s fine,” Hohman said.
“But the underfunding in the system means that they are getting Cadillac benefits at Ferrari prices.”"

Vice Adm. Aucoin Holds Press Conference about USS Fitzgerald Collision
Vice Adm. Aucoin Holds Press Conference about USS Fitzgerald Collision:
"USS Fitzgerald experienced extensive damage and flooding after a collision with the Filipino container ship at 0220 local time, 17 June, approx. 56 nm off the coast of Honshu, Japan.
The damage included a significant impact under the ship's pilothouse on the starboard side and a large puncture below the ship's waterline, opening the hull to the sea.
The ship suffered severe damage rapidly flooding three large compartments that included one machinery room and two berthing areas for 116 crew. The commanding officer's cabin was also directly hit, trapping the CO inside.
The crew's response was swift and effective, and I want to point out - as we stand by the ship - how proud I am of them.
Heroic efforts prevented the flooding from catastrophically spreading which could have caused the ship to founder or sink. It could have been much worse."

"The clans simply have no respect for the authorities."

- "In their concept of masculinity, only power and force matter; if someone is humane and civil, this is considered a weakness. In clan structures, in tribal culture everywhere in the world, ethics are confined to the clan itself. Everything outside the clan is enemy territory." — Ralph Ghadban, Lebanese-German political scientist and leading expert on Middle Eastern clans in Germany.

The debt-bubble landmine Obama left for Trump | New York Post
The debt-bubble landmine Obama left for Trump | New York Post:
"President Trump came in for much jeering when he told reporters he had “inherited a mess” from President Barack Obama.
On the economy, though, Obama did indeed leave behind a hidden mess: a seemingly healthy jobs market dependent on cheap debt.
When this debt bubble bursts, just as the last one did, the manufacturing jobs Trump wants to save will be in even greater peril.
The country’s last bubble was in housing.
Between 2000 and 2007, Americans nearly doubled their mortgage debt, from $5.9 trillion to $10.6 trillion.
This didn’t bother anyone in a position of power.
The housing boom created millions of jobs, from construction to home-furnishing, and people felt rich.
What bothered the pols was when the illusion broke.
Since the 2008 crash, neither Democrats nor Republicans have been interested in creating a sturdier economy.
Instead, they’ve built up another bubble, this time in the car and SUV industry.
How?
The same way: cheap debt.
In 2010, Americans owed $809 billion on their cars (after adjusting for inflation).
Today, they owe nearly $1.2 trillion, according to the New York Fed.
And the rate of growth has been accelerating...
But who is borrowing for used cars — and at much higher interest rates — is a huge concern.
People with not-great credit scores have always made up about a fifth of the auto-loan market.
But the percentage of people borrowing even though they have really bad credit scores has surged, reports Bloomberg.
It’s now a third of the subprime auto-bond market, up from just 5 percent seven years ago..."

Your Neighbor's Fancy Car Should Make You Feel Better About Income Inequality - Reason.com
"...And let's face it:
In practical terms, the difference between a $200,000 Tesla and my last car, a beat-up minivan worth $2,000 at trade-in, is not all that large.
They're both safe forms of transportation that get you from point A to point B and, given legal limits and the reality of suburban traffic, most of the time they're driven at roughly the same speeds.
In that sense, measures of income inequality overstate the differences within a developed country like the United States.
The products available to the masses are, in many cases, nearly as good as those available only to the elite.
Your garbageman's old Timex and your podiatrist's brand new Rolex serve almost precisely the same function.
It wasn't always so.
A century ago, a hungry rich person had access to significantly more food and more choices than a poor one.
Yet even bluebloods would have been able to get their hands on less variety and quality than one now finds at an average Midwestern all-you-can-eat buffet.
...So why the 21st century panic about the gap between the rich and poor?
At first glance, the numbers do look damning...
...But appearances can be deceiving.
As the Brookings economist Gary Burtless has pointed out, if you account for transfers such as government housing assistance and employer-provided health insurance, "Americans in the bottom one-fifth of the distribution saw their real net incomes climb by almost 50 percent" since the late 1970s, while "those in the middle fifth of the distribution saw their incomes grow 36 percent."
It's worth remembering that anytime someone says the gap between rich and poor is increasing, what he usually means is that rich people are getting richer faster than poor people are getting richer—not that any group is becoming worse off overall..."

16 Russian Dancers Stand Absolutely Still, But When They Start To Move… WOW!:
"I thought that the entire idea of dancing is for the audience to see the moves, but with Beriozka things are a little bit different.
In this traditional Russian dance, performers appear to be floating across the stage, and it is nothing short of impressive.
Their secret technique is called the floating step and in a second you are going to have a hard time trusting your eyes!
I thought that these dancers are standing still while the stage beneath them seems to be moving.
Even the skirts doesn’t seem to ruffle, but that is all part of the show.
The women actually have to stay on their tippy toes (en pointe) the entire time to maintain the illusion."

Trump Wanted Comey to Refute False Notion He Was Suspect | National Review:
"Patently, Comey and the FBI did not believe Trump had obstructed an investigation by lobbying on Flynn’s behalf. And just as patently, that’s because Trump did not do so: You cannot act corruptly – as the obstruction statute requires the government to prove beyond a reasonable doubt – if you do not believe what you are doing is against the law. Since Trump had as much authority as any prosecutor or FBI agent to weigh the merits of prosecuting Flynn, he cannot have acted corruptly in doing so."
