Too damn often!-----Anyone and Everyone | Kentucky Medicaid Fraud | Fraud of the Day

Anyone and Everyone | Kentucky Medicaid Fraud | Fraud of the Day
"As of June 2018, more than 66 million individuals were enrolled in Medicaid.
As approximately one-sixth of the national healthcare economy, it’s easy to see how the government healthcare program is an easy target for fraud(In 2016, Medicaid spending totaled $565.5 billion.)
Image result for Fraud of the DayA significant portion of fraud occurs when individuals providing personal care services submit fraudulent claims for services that were not provided.
Today’s fraudster is a Lexington, Kentucky woman, who used her sister as a cover to commit Medicaid fraud
...Additional research shows that statements were taken from the caregiver’s parents. Another article stated that the caregiver had told her mom, “If we all tell the same thing, they’re not going to be able to prove anything.” (That turned out to be a very bad idea.)
...After a two-hour deliberation, the jury returned a verdict.
The 40-year-old woman from Lexington, Kentucky was found guilty of Medicaid fraud
The jury also recommended five years behind bars when sentenced.
Whatever the outcome is on sentencing, the real losers are the taxpayers who fund the program and the recipients who don’t get the care they qualify for and deserve.
In this particular case, it was her own sister. (Fraudsters will use anyone and everyone to get what they want, even a vulnerable family member.)..."

The Senate Judiciary Committee is now compelled to seek more information on Dr. Ford communications within her team. It has come to the attention of the Committee that there may well have been witness tampering attempted. Leland Keyser, a friend of Dr. Ford and named as a party attendee, denied every being at any party with her and Judge Kavanaugh. Ms. Keyser said that she was ‘pressured’ by Monica McLean, a retired FBI agent and a friend of Ford’s to revise her testimony. That sounds bad. It fails the smell test as well.

Melting snowflakes!-----Anti-Kavanaugh protest postponed 'in recognition of Indigenous People's Day'

Anti-Kavanaugh protest postponed 'in recognition of Indigenous People's Day'

  • Student organizers at Scripps College in California scheduled a protest to "demonstrate [their] outrage" at Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation.
  • The protest, originally scheduled for Monday, will take place Tuesday after being postponed because of "Indigenous People's Day."

An anti-Justice Brett Kavanaugh protest at Scripps College in California was postponed after student organizers realized the event was scheduled on Columbus Day or "Indigenous People's Day."
“We want to deeply apologize for scheduling this event on the same day as the 2nd annual Indigenous People’s Day," student organizers wrote.
"Monday is a day for indigenous and non-indigenous allies to stand in solidarity and acknowledge the genocidal mission system that enslaved and killed 80 [percent] of Natives living on this land.
Additionally, we stand in solidarity with the 5,100 missing and murdered indigenous people."
...Student organizers at Scripps College had planned a protest against the United States Senate’s Saturday decision to confirm Kavanaugh for Monday. The protest aimed to “support survivors and show solidarity with those who are distraught by the Senate’s recent decision,” according to one of the event organizers.
The Facebook event description states that “[this] has been a really devastating time in US Politics.
We want to demonstrate our outrage regarding the recent Senate vote approving Brett Kavanaugh to the highest court in America...
...One organizer stated that “[we] fully recognize that this event can be triggering as well as exhausting for survivors.
We would love to have as much support as possible, but we understand that this event may be too difficult for some to attend.
Please take care of yourself and your own needs first.”...

High school band's halftime show depicts murder of police officers - The College Fix
"A Mississippi high school marching band’s halftime show caused quite a stir Friday evening after it depicted the murder of law enforcement officers.
During the performance at Brookhaven High School, members of the visiting Forest Hill High School marching band were dressed as doctors and nurses … holding at gunpoint and shooting other members dressed as SWAT team officers.
The show stoked flames of outrage as just one week before, two Brookhaven police officers were killed while responding to a call of “shots fired,” WLBT reports.
Jackson Public Schools, Forest Hill HS’s home district, had no comment as of Saturday morning..."

Hoax project gets a woke version of 'Mein Kampf' accepted by feminist journal - The College Fix
...The “Conceptual Penis” hoax wasn’t enough for mathematician James Lindsay and Portland State University philosopher Peter Boghossian.
...Four academic journals published papers submitted as hoaxes...the trio said in an essay on their experiment Tuesday.
Another three have accepted but not yet published their hoax papers.
The trio submitted 20 papers in all, which were intended to unmask the low standards in what they term “grievance studies.”
Their published paper discovering “rape culture” in dog parks has drawn the most attention, even before the trio outed their project Tuesday.
But their biggest coup may be convincing a feminist journal to accept a paper that includes a lengthy section of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf with “fashionable buzzwords switched in.”
...They term these fields “grievance studies” because they intend to inflame the grievances of certain identity groups, and targeted them because of their “increasing power over our universities, institutions, media, and culture."
...The “Feminist Mein Kampf” paper, as they called it, featured a clue about its origin right in the title: “Our Struggle is My Struggle: Solidarity Feminism as an Intersectional Reply to Neoliberal and Choice Feminism.”...

If such behavior becomes the new normal, we’ll all be in trouble.
This last week, left-wing bullies shouted down senators in the hallways of the Capitol, stormed senatorial offices, and generally endeavored to “occupy” Congress as they once did Wall Street — all to force members of the Senate to reject Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
Among the many disgraces of the two weeks since Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation of sexual assault was leaked to the press, the bad behavior of protesters on Capitol Hill may seem low on the list. But it is something that we should be deeply concerned about.

"IT’S COME TO THIS: Astronaut Scott Kelly apologizes after quoting, praising Winston Churchill.
Kelly, a retired American astronaut with multiple space flights under his belt, apologized Sunday after quoting Winston Churchill and calling the 20th century British prime minister “one of the greatest leaders of modern times.”

“Did not mean to offend by quoting Churchill. My apologies. I will go and educate myself further on his atrocities, racist views which I do not support. My point was we need to come together as one nation. We are all Americans. That should transcend partisan politics,” Kelly wrote on Twitter in the evening.
So public shaming followed by a re-education campaign. Jon Gabriel tacitly notes we’ve seen this before:

"Sometimes I watch television programs so you don’t have to.
Such was the case this morning as I endured ABC’s This Week.
Of course the show was dominated by the circus surrounding the drawn-out confirmation process of Brett Kavanaugh...
“I talked to a woman from UltraViolent who was paid,” Vice News’ Washington bureau chief Shawna Thomas told Karl on the program “she helped steer people in the right ways to be able to confront senators.”
Karl interjected, “So there were paid,” but then Thomas jumped back in, “There were people that were paid by organizations like UltraViolet to try to harness that energy in a way that would make the viral moments that we ended up seeing.”
UltraViolet, which I haven’t heard of until this morning, is left-wing female advocacy group.
Well one of those “viral moments” was the screaming attack on Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ)  in a Capitol elevator..."

9 Times the Media Pushed Misinformation About Kavanaugh

Stephen Colbert 'Late Show' Writer Ariel Dumas: 'I'm Just Glad We Ruined Brett Kavanaugh's Life'
"Ariel Dumas, a writer for CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, came under fired this weekend after tweeting that despite Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation, she’s “just glad” that his life was “ruined.”
“Whatever happens, I’m just glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh’s life,” Late Show writer Ariel Dumas tweeted.
The tweet was later deleted, and Dumas followed up by offering up a halfhearted apology.
The last couple of weeks have been hard for the country and for me personally. The complexity of frustration, anger and sadness can’t be accurately conveyed on twitter, and I regret my tone-deaf attempt at sarcasm in the wake of it.
...Whatever the reason for her tweet, it seems that this kind of rhetoric is acceptable to Stephen Colbert.
Colbert has regularly engaged in over-the-top anti-Trump rhetoric. The 54-year-old called President Trump a “racist, horny old burger-goblin who literally steals children from poor people” in July.
He also displayed an image of White House adviser Stephen Miller with his head on a spike in 2017..."
