Roger Stone's lawyer offers proof CNN is in bed with FBI:
Documentation was released yesterday, reportedly from Roger Stone's lawyer, that claims that CNN didn't just happen upon Mr. Stone's home right before a 29-person FBI team raided it and took him into custody based on a "gut instinct," as the FBI claimed. The letter was produced by Mr. Stone's lawyer, Grant Smith, who sent it to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees. It details a frightening tale of CNN acting on behalf of the FBI in regard to the continual Russia probe.

Revising the history of big, climate-altering volcanic eruptions | Watts Up With That?
"For all their destructive power, most volcanic eruptions are local events.
Lava flows tend to reach only a few miles at most, while airborne ash and soot travel a little farther. But occasionally, larger eruptions can launch particles into the stratosphere, more than 6 miles above Earth’s surface.
The 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines–the world’s largest eruption in the past 100 years–is a prime example of a stratospheric eruption.
When volcanic particles reach the stratosphere they stay aloft for a long time, reflecting sunlight and temporarily cooling the planet.
By understanding the history of these big eruptions, researchers can begin to place short cooling episodes and other discrete climate events into the context of large-scale climate patterns.
...“For eruptions that are intense enough to inject material into the stratosphere, there is a telltale signature in the sulfur isotope ratios of sulfate preserved in ancient ice layers,” explained Farquhar, who also has an appointment in UMD’s Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center.
“By instead focusing on this distinct sulfur isotope signature, our new method yielded some surprising and useful results.
We found that prior reconstructions missed some stratospheric events and falsely identified others.”
...“This is a strength of our approach, because these events would have a climate impact but are missed by other methods,” Farquhar said.
“We have made a significant improvement to the reconstruction of large stratospheric eruptions that occurred over the past 2,600 years.
This is critically important for understanding the role of volcanic eruptions on climate and possibly for understanding certain events in human history, such as widespread famines.
It can also help to inform future climate models that will take large volcanic events into account.”

VIDEO: Venezuelan socialism victims send message to American socialists
- Campus Reform's Cabot Phillips attended a protest with victims of Venezuelan socialism.
- Attendees seemed to overwhelmingly agree on one thing: Don't do it.
...As Campus Reform has repeatedly reported, the popularity of socialism has been on the rise, especially among college students.
According to Gallup, the majority of Democrats view socialism more favorably than Capitalism.
Wanting to know if the people who support socialism had ever heard from people who’ve suffered under it, Campus Reform's Cabot Phillips headed to a Venezuelan Freedom rally in Washington, D.C.
It soon became abundantly clear that the Venezuelans in attendance were horrified by the idea of bringing socialism to the United States.
Asking them, “What is your message to those who want socialism here,” the attendees were in agreement: don’t do it.
“You do not ever want anything close to socialism,” one attendee said, while another added, “people are eating from trash cans in the streets, so how has socialism helped?”
Another attendee, whose family is still in Venezuela, said, “No Venezuelan can like socialism, because we’ve seen it put in place very well.”
What else did they have to say? Watch the full video:

"Will the last Democrat politician in Virginia without a blackface picture please turn out the lights?
In the 80s, the thing to do in Virginia was take pictures in blackface apparently.
Yesterday, we learned that the Democrat attorney general of Virginia, Mark Herring, wore blackface at a party in 1980.
We learned this after he called for Democrat Governor Ralph Northam to step down from office because *he* appeared in blackface (or in a KKK outfit) in his medical school yearbook.
Northam initially admitted the blackface picture was him but subsequently changed his mind and currently denies he is the blackface on the page bearing his name in his medical school yearbook. The man who’s second in line to become Virginia’s governor on Wednesday admitted that he too has worn blackface — just days after he called on Gov. Ralph Northam to resign for the same thing...
...Does anyone think that either one of these jokers, Northam or Herring, would be accorded any courtesy by the media if they were Republicans.
No.
There would be special theme songs on cable and network news, there would be special graphics, there would be people interviewing every person that ever went to school with these blackfacers.
They would be parked outside their residences, following relatives around, going through trash, confrontations by angry activists captured on video, think of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing as a paradigm.
Why aren't we seeing this?..."

Chuck Schumer Smirks as Trump Describes How Dems Want to 'Execute' Newborn Babies | Video
Decked out in white to virtue-signal their #Resistance to Trump, Democratic women sat emotionless as Trump described a horrific Virginia legislative proposal that would allow children to be killed after they are born, and a law recently passed in New York that allows for partial-birth abortion. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) simply smirked as the president described the monstrous procedures.

The bad news for Democrats about a Howard Schultz run for president keeps getting worse
"As I mentioned yesterday, a poll showed that Democrats have good reason to be very, very afraid of a Howard Schultz candidacy.
Now there's another, and it's even worse.
According to the Daily Wire:
The Washington Examiner reports that the internal poll shows Schultz with a commanding 17% against Trump and either Sen. Elizabeth Warrren (D-MA) or Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), both among the top contenders for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
That may not sound like a strong showing, but it puts Schultz in the position of being a "spoiler" for both potential Democratic nominees.
When Schultz is added to the lineup, Trump posts 33% compared to Warren and Harris, who post 32% and 31% respectively – a situation that would likely lead to a narrow loss for either.
It's also good news for Schultz, independently: in order to be on the ballot in most states, a third party candidate must command more than 15% of the vote in five key national polls..."

Ocasio-Cortez exhibits 'sour look' when Trump calls for unity - WND:
The reaction from Democrats and the media to President Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address on Tuesday diverged significantly from that of the American public.
The party’s new rising star, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a self-proclaimed socialist from New York who wants to spend $7 trillion on a new green program, was described by one report as having a “sour look” when the president was condemning the “politics of revenge, resistance.”
The New York Post reported she “shot back” at critics who said she didn’t show much enthusiasm.
Her claim: “Why should I be ‘spirited and warm’ for this embarrassment of a #SOTU. Tonight was an unsettling night for our country. The president failed to offer any plan, any vision at all, for our future. We’re flying without a pilot. And I’m not here to comfort anyone about that fact.”
But the public was not following her lead.
The Gateway Pundit reported polls by both CBS and CNN showed 76 percent of viewers approved of the president’s speech.
CBS found 72 percent approving of his immigration ideas.

Dems Push National Popular Vote in Newly Controlled 'Trifecta' States
"...The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, or NPV, creates an agreement by all states that have entered into it, whereby their Electoral College votes are cast for the candidate who wins the most individual votes nationwide, not who wins the most in that state.
Central to the compact is the legal trigger that it would not take effect until the number of Electoral College votes of all the states entered in surpasses 270, the key number required to win the presidency.
With 11 states and the District of Columbia agreeing to participate, the NPV Electoral College vote tally stands at 172.
For example, if Idaho had been in the compact in 2016, and if the compact were in force, the state's four Electoral College votes would have been cast for Hillary Clinton even though Donald Trump beat her by more than a two-to-one margin there, because Clinton won more votes nationwide..."

"University of Cincinnati researchers have developed a more efficient air-cooling system for power plants
University of Cincinnati researchers say they have found a solution to one of the biggest environmental problems facing the energy industry: water consumption.

The William H. Zimmer Power Station, located near Moscow, Ohio, is a 1.35-gigawatt (1,351 MW) coal power plant. Planned by Cincinnati Gas and Electric (CG&E) draws cooling water from the Ohio River.
Power plants in the United States need as much water each year as all of the nation’s farms combined — an estimated 133 billion gallons per day, according to federal numbers.
This poses an enormous strain on water resources and has a detrimental environmental impact.
But Raj Manglik and Milind Jog, professors of mechanical engineering in UC’s College of Engineering and Applied Science, say they have developed a new air-cooling system for power plants that uses no water but is nearly as effective as water-cooled systems.
...Shedding more heat increases the efficiency of the power plants, which means they can produce more electricity.
And since the cooling system is more effective, it doesn’t have to be as big and costly to build, they said.
...But UC’s engineers didn’t stop with condenser fins.
They also are working on a solution to one of the energy industry’s biggest conundrums.
In the summer, electricity demand typically peaks during the hottest part of the day when a plant’s cooling systems are least efficient..."

The boys were actually targeted and harassed by two groups of protesters: the Black Hebrew Israelites (who hurled hateful, racial, homophobic slurs at them) and Native American activists from the American Indian Movement, led by "tribal elder" Nathan Phillips.
A nationwide media frenzy erupted after the Covington boys were falsely accused of mocking Phillips, spurring hundreds of threats against the school and the school's students from across the country by phone, email, and social media.
Not everyone who helped perpetuate the initial fake story has retracted their claims or apologized, and lawyers for the Covington families are working hard to make sure people are held accountable.
A new fourteen-minute video of the incident in Washington, D.C., last month emphasizes the starring role Phillips took in spreading the fraudulent narrative and the supporting roles the uncritical media took in smearing the innocent kids.
The video was released Saturday by L. Lin Wood, the high-profile attorney who was retained by the family of Nicholas Sandmann, the 16-year-old who smiled at Phillips while the activist banged on a drum and chanted in his face. The initial viral video clip of that confrontation spurred widespread condemnation and death threats against the 16-year-old. Wood's specialty is bringing "aggressive libel and slander suits against media organizations," reportedly.
"Two weeks ago, the mainstream media, politicians, church officials, commentators, & celebrities rushed to judgment to wrongfully condemn, threaten, disparage & vilify Nick Sandmann based solely on a few seconds of an out-of-context video clip. It only takes 15 minutes to learn the truth," Wood said in the YouTube description."
