Panera's Socialist Pay-What-You-Want Restaurant Implodes: Students, Homeless Mob The Place | Daily Wire
"According to Eater, after nine years of being in business, Panera Bread's socialist pay-what-you-want restaurant, Panera Cares, will officially be closing shop on February 15 due to the business model's unsustainability.
While Panera Cares billed itself as a "non-profit" restaurant designed to feed low-income people, the business model was anything but.
Rather than create a charitable organization that distributes food to needy families or a discount outlet or even a $1 menu (like every other fast-food restaurant), Panera tried to create a socialist system in which meals were offered at a suggested donation price.
That means some people would pay more while others would pay less based on what they felt like or could afford.
By not simply offering food at a low price (hat-tip, Dollar Tree), Panera completely removed any incentive for patrons to meet even the lowest standards of consumer/retailer exchange.
The result: some people paid their fair share while others enjoyed a "free lunch."...

Planned Parenthood kept aborted babies alive to harvest heart, brain: ex-technician - Washington Times:
"In an undercover video released Wednesday, a former technician for a tissue-harvesting company details how an aborted baby was kept alive so that its heart could be harvested at a California Planned Parenthood facility, raising more legal questions about the group’s practices.
Holly O’Donnell, a former blood and tissue procurement technician for the biotech startup StemExpress, also said she was asked to harvest an intact brain from the late-term, male fetus whose heart was still beating after the abortion.
A StemExpress supervisor “gave me the scissors and told me that I had to cut down the middle of the face. And I can’t even describe what that feels like,” said Ms. O’Donnell, who has been featured in earlier videos by the Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life group that previously had released six undercover clips involving Planned Parenthood personnel and practices...."

Last Week's Cold, This Week's Trespassers, Shows We Need a Pipeline Protection Bill - American Experiment
Last Week's Cold, This Week's Trespassers, Shows We Need a Pipeline Protection Bill - American Experiment:
"Last week saw temperatures in Minnesota plummet to 24 below zero in the Twin Cities, and International Falls registered a temperature of minus 36 degrees.
It was so cold outside that Xcel Energy had to urge its 460,000 natural as customers to turn their thermostats down to 63 degrees or face widespread shortages of natural gas, putting hundreds of thousands of people on edge, worrying about whether they could stay warm.
...This week, less than seven days after it should be been blindingly obvious to everyone that natural gas, oil, and coal play a vital role in making sure our homes stay heated and the lights stay on, four anti-pipeline activists were arrested attempting to “turn the valves” of the Enbridge pipeline off, impeding the flow of oil through the pipeline, as Dan Kraker in the Duluth News Tribune reports...
...Granted, oil is not natural gas, but anti-pipeline activists have been just as avid about stopping new natural gas infrastructure as they have for oil.
...It’s almost as if it might be a good idea to enact legislation that would protect critical infrastructure, such as pipelines, from these sorts of protests and vandalism.
Oh, wait!
Last session, Republican lawmakers in the Minnesota House and Senate passed this bill, but it was vetoed by former Governor Mark Dayton..."

Doctors Induce 25 Percent of Dutch Deaths | National Review
"An exposé on Dutch euthanasia published in The Guardian discloses that around twenty-five percent of Dutch deaths are induced/caused by doctors.
These are not all lethal-injection euthanasia deaths.
As I have written here before, many more people are killed in the Netherlands by “ terminal sedation”–a slow motion euthanasia wherein patients not in the active stage of dying are put into artificial comas and denied all sustenance until they dehydrate to death–than die by lethal jabs.
(Terminal sedation should never be confused with the proper practice of “palliative sedation,” which eases a dying patient’s symptoms while not intentionally causing death.)..."

"CNN OFFERS CRITICISM-FREE PRAISE FOR GREEN NEW DEAL; COMPARES AOC, MARKEY TO LADA GAGA, BRADLEY COOPER:
CNN special correspondent and far-left climate activist Bill “ignorant f***sticks” Weir joined afternoon CNN Newsroom host Brooke Baldwin Thursday for a criticism-free lovefest in honor of the Green New Deal. All told, the pair determined it was akin to NASA and a necessary step to save Earth without offering any questions or answers about how this move toward communism would be paid for.
If those things didn’t convince you that this four-minute-plus segment was a trainwreck, Baldwin sat in awe as Weir quipped that the Green New Deal was a love story for Earth, like A Star Is Born where Bradley Cooper could play Senator Ed Markey (D-NY) and Lady Gaga would be Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Before her Website 404ed the specifics of her “Green New Deal” page yesterday afternoon, as Reason’s Joe Setyon wrote, “Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal Aims to Eliminate Air Travel:”
Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D–N.Y.) today introduced a House resolution outlining her long-awaited Green New Deal. The resolution, as Reason‘s Ron Bailey reported earlier today, cites climate change concerns as justification for a plan that would remake the U.S. economy over the next 10 years. The resolution’s aims include “overhauling transportation systems in the United States to eliminate pollution and 19 greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector as much as is technologically feasible.” According to an overview of the resolution, this will be accomplished, in part, by “build[ing] out highspeed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary.”
In other words, the Green New Deal wants to make commercial air travel obsolete. Is this in any way feasible? The short answer is no. “It’s actually probably even dumber than it seems,” says Baruch Feigenbaum, assistant director of transportation policy at the Reason Foundation, the nonprofit that publishes this website.
But in the meantime, if CNN’s correspondents, like virtually all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates, are behind Ocasio-Cortez’s proposals, shouldn’t they help ratchet them forward by insisting upon the removal of CNN from all American airports?.---Posted by Ed Driscoll"

Trump Was Right to Highlight Economic Successes | The Heritage Foundation:

There are some facts that are indeed facts, regardless of partisan affiliation or ideology. And one example is that America is better off now than it was two years ago and Trump was right to highlight those successes.
The country’s unemployment rate is the lowest since 1969 and the lowest in 65 years for women. No one has been left behind: Unemployment among African Americans, at 5.9 percent in May, is the lowest ever recorded. There are now more job openings in America than there are unemployed people.
But it’s not just jobs, workers are also keeping more of the money they earn.

New Jersey residents face possible 'rain tax' | Fox News
New Jersey residents face possible 'rain tax' | Fox News:
The bill, approved by the New Jersey Assembly and the Senate, would allow municipalities to create utilities that can collect fees from homeowners and business owners that have large paved surfaces, like driveways and parking lots. During storms, rainwater mixes with pollutants on those surfaces before running into sewers and drains. The funding from the fees could be used for upgrades to reduce the impact on the environment.

Democrats' 'Green New Deal' Is Really A Call For Enviro-Socialism | Investor's Business Daily
Democrats' 'Green New Deal' Is Really A Call For Enviro-Socialism | Investor's Business Daily
"The far-left Democrats finally unveiled their plan for their "Green New Deal."
It's a shocking document, essentially a call for enviro-socialism in America.
It's no doubt prompting many across the nation to wonder:
Has this once-respectable political party of the working class gone collectively mad?
It sure seems that way.
Reading the Green New Deal (GND) plan, put out Thursday by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey, one is tempted to think it's not real, just a joke from the satirical "The Onion."
The individual planks in the plan, individually and collectively, sound like the rantings of someone who should be institutionalized, not like a rational political plan to solve a real problem.
Let's begin with what the plan promises: "a massive transformation of our society with clear goals and a timeline."
That's a sweeping, explicit pledge of radical socialist change.
And that's not all.
It offers "a 10-year plan to mobilize every aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War 2 to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and create economic prosperity for all."
That's right: 10 years.
They've made it the "moral equivalent of war," that phrase by American philosopher William James that the left pulls out every time they want to impose radical change on the rest of us.
'Massive Transformation'
This is how all truly radical disasters begin, with a glorious Utopian promise of "massive transformation."...

Moore’s Law is dying. Here’s how AI is bringing it back to life!
Moore’s Law is dying. Here’s how AI is bringing it back to life!:"Moore’s Law, one of the fundamental laws indicating the exponential progress in the tech industry, especially electronic engineering, has been slowing down lately (since 2005, to be more precise), and has led many in this sector to believe this law to no longer hold true.
That was, until Artificial Intelligence joined the arena!
Since then, the game changed, and Moore’s law is slowly being revived.
...Right there, Artificial Intelligence is imposing a constraint: keep the power constant or decrease it, but increase performance…
...Exactly, by forcing the tech industry to come up with new processors which can perform more calculations per unit time, while maintaining power consumption and price, Artificial Intelligence is imposing Dennard Scaling again, and hence forcing Moore’s Law back to life!"
