There's no reason for Americans to fret over "red flag" laws that give sweeping gun confiscation powers to local governments, right? After all, if you're not a criminal, what's the problem?
At least that's the general response voiced by many on the left whenever gun owners speak up. But a disturbing incident in Massachusetts is raising hard questions about those firearms seizure laws, especially when it comes to due process.
According to LifeZette and The Martha's Vineyard Times, an 84-year-old veteran had his legally owned firearms confiscated by local police after a waitress misheard part of a conversation between him and a friend.

You might think that in the aftermath of such appalling lawlessness, mainstream Democratic politicians would rush to denounce the violence. In fact, to my knowledge, not a single Minnesota Democrat has criticized what you saw in that video. At least one Democratic legislator, Aisha Gomez, participated in the riot, and several others tweeted their support for it. And Ilhan Omar, the darling of Minnesota’s Democratic Party, expressed regret that she wasn’t taking part in the riot along with Rep. Gomez:

The truck driver Curtis Dunn was never charged in the crash.

Newark resident Pamela Hamill wants an apology from U.S. Senator Biden (D-Del.) for his recent characterization of her father as having been drunk during the 1972 accident that killed the Senator’s wife and daughter.

In 2008 Pamela Hamill went public to clear her father’s name.

The crash was Neilia Biden’s fault.

The Judge agreed. 
The truck driver was not drinking.

The Newwark Post reported:

...“The rumor about alcohol being involved by either party, especially the truck driver (Dunn), is incorrect,” Herlihy said recently.

Police determined that Biden’s first wife drove into the path of Dunn’s tractor-trailer, possibly because her head was turned and she didn’t see the oncoming truck.

Dunn, who overturned his rig while swerving to avoid a collision, ran to the wrecked car and was the first to render assistance.
