Hypocrisy!-----Boston Mayor Backs Removal of Lincoln Statue; Opposes Renaming Faneuil Hall Despite Slave History

Boston Mayor Backs Removal of Lincoln Statue; Opposes Renaming Faneuil Hall Despite Slave History
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh (D) has come out in favor of removing a statue of Abraham Lincoln that has stood in the city for more than a century — but is opposed to renaming Faneuil Hall, which is named for a slave owner and is on the site of a slave market.
As Breitbart News has reported, left-wing activists are trying to have a statue of Abraham Lincoln removed from Park Square after nearly 150 years because they find the depiction of an emancipated slave in the sculpture to be offensive.
The statue has stood there since 1879 and is a replica of an original statue built with funds contributed by freed slaves.
Mayor Walsh’s office told the Boston Globe last week that he favors removing the Lincoln statue and replacing it with “one that recognizes equality.”
However, Mayor Walsh has opposed renaming Faneuil Hall, a major tourist attraction in downtown Boston, declaring last week: “The Mayor is always open to having a conversation, but he remains opposed to changing the name of Faneuil Hall.”
It is incredibly special to be able to celebrate the 4th of July in America’s Cradle of Liberty, Faneuil Hall.

33 Tough Questions to Pose the 'Woke' | The Stream

33 Tough Questions to Pose the 'Woke' | The Stream
1. Do you think the same laws should apply equally to citizens, regardless of their political opinions, unless they favor the violent overthrow of the government?
2. Or is it okay for whatever faction is more powerful to silence the expression of contrary ideas, insofar as they can get away with it?
3. Should we make “hate speech” exceptions to silence people whose speech we really, really hate?
4. Should small groups of people be able to dictate public policy without democratically passing laws?
Tough Questions for Dumb Times
5. Even if they hold signs, attack public monuments, and claim that they’re fighting “racism”?
6. Do you believe that generally, people should be free to associate with whomever they wish, and hire whom they like?...

Idaho Citizens Patrol Streets To Protect Their City From Antifa And Looters - The Political Insider

Idaho Citizens Patrol Streets To Protect Their City From Antifa And Looters - The Political Insider
"Many citizens in Coeur d’Alene, a small city in Idaho, took to the streets to protect local businesses and homes from antifa and looters.
Hundreds, possibly thousands, of men and women in the small Idaho city of Coeur d’Alene, with a population of 45,000, took up arms and hit the streets, when they were informed that looters and antifa members were going to attack their town.
Not only did they protect businesses, but they also stood up for the rights of those to peacefully protest as well – ensuring that anyone who wished to protest was still able to do so, but in a safe manner.
“There have been a couple guys trying to silence us, but the Trump supporters down there are helping keep it under control,” one demonstrator said, referring to the militia members as “unofficial guardians” of the protests.
“We won’t be silenced, and I guess I’m glad people with guns are here to make sure that happens.”...

Over the last two weeks, a renewed effort to remove Confederate monuments and status of other perceived oppressors, like Christopher Columbus, has gained momentum nationwide. Now, protesters have reportedly set their sights on The Alamo.
In response, Texas land commissioner George P. Bush, son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, sent those wishing to destroy The Alamo a powerful message.
"The Alamo is the Shrine of Texas Liberty. And it will be defended," Bush said in a statement on Saturday.

OSU football coach shamed for wearing One America News t-shirt
"Oklahoma State University football coach Mike Gundy came under fire after he was seen wearing a One America News t-shirt.

...The controversy ignited after CBS Sports writer Kyle Boone tweeted a screenshot of a Facebook post showing Gundy wearing a One America News t-shirt while on a fishing trip.
"Mike Gundy went fishing on Lake Texoma donning an OAN t-shirt," the sports reporter captioned the tweet.
About three hours later, OSU football player Chuba Hubbard referenced Boone's tweet, writing, "I will not stand for this. This is completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable. I will not be doing anything with Oklahoma State until things CHANGE."
...OSU President Burns Hargis also weighed in, tweeting, "I hear and respect the concerns expressed by our Black student-athletes. This is a time for unity of purpose to confront racial inequities and injustice. We will not tolerate insensitive behavior by anyone at Oklahoma State."...

Elijah Schaffer of BlazeTV, who is the host of the "Slightly Offens*ve" podcast, was reporting from the CHAZ on Saturday and captured some unnerving video.
The New York Times wrote an article about the CHAZ titled "Free Food, Free Speech and Free of Police: Inside Seattle's 'Autonomous Zone.'" However, speech may not be as free as advertised. Several people in the CHAZ demanded that the preacher be removed from the autonomous zone for speech about Christianity that offended them.

"[Lee Fang of The Intercept], of course, had a choice. He didn’t have to apologize. If he didn’t apologize, he wasn’t going to be executed or even sent to an actual Gulag – just a social one. He would have become persona non grata at every liberal media outlet in the US, and apparently he was not willing to do that. A conservative outlet might have hired him, but he wasn’t ready to cast his lot with a group he probably still considers The Enemy. So he apologized and kept his job.

Image result for Like Winston Smith at the end of Nineteen Eighty-FourBut maybe, if he’s a true person of the left, his apology wasn’t just pragmatic. It may have been sincere. Like Winston Smith at the end of Nineteen Eighty-Four, and in Fang’s case without even the need for torture and major re-education, perhaps he was ready to sincerely admit the error of his ways. If that was the case, to me it’s even more frightening than if Fang had just sucked it up in order to keep his job. But if he was sincere, it’s a demonstration of how leftists manage to absorb new information and to integrate it into their pre-existing mental map of what’s acceptable and unacceptable. Depending on how far left Fang is, he might just decide that if all the other leftists say he’s guilty of thoughtcrime here, it must therefore be so.

Image result for wikicommons images Allen WestLt. Col. Allen West warned Saturday that Americans toppling Confederate statues or defacing infamous historic symbols were missing the point of that time in U.S. history.
In an interview on "Fox & Friends Weekend" with hosts Jedediah Bila, Pete Hegseth, and Griff Jenkins, the former Florida congressman advised that angry desecration of longstanding monuments to racist historical figures was not the path to take.
"The right thing is for everyone to understand those -- and George Santayana once said -- those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it," he urged.
"History is not there for you to like or dislike, Jedediah. It is there for you to learn from," he told Bila.

"The “Freedom is Slavery” Language Trend in America Continues--PATRICK COLBECK
On Tuesday, June 15th, the U.S. Supreme Court issued their opinion in the Bostock vs Clayton County case.
In this case, the plaintiffs assert that employers who fire them for being gay or transgender violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex.
The entire court case boils down to the definition of the word “sex”.
Does “sex” refer to the over 64 terms for “gender” now prevalent in popular culture or is the term “sex” reserved for the scientific designation of male and female?
Homosexuality and transgenderism clearly existed in society at the time of the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
If the legislature had intended for “sex” to include the “64 terms for gender” including homosexuality and transgenderism, it would have been included in the text of the act.
It was not..."

"...Consider a trustafarian Aspen city council boy named Skippy (yes, that’s his real name).
For a guy who’s never had a real job, Skippy is very busy.
He’s organizing the protest thing in Aspen.
Skippy and his gentrified protesters of pallor don’t need to wear masks because even though they’ve never been to the wrong side of the tracks they’re on the right side of history.
What they’re protesting is white people killing black people.
I don’t like people killing people, so that seems like a worthwhile protest.
But they aren’t protesting black people killing white people, which happens twice as often even though blacks are only 13% of the population.
In fact, of all the mixed-race murders (black killing white, Hispanic killing black, white killing Hispanic and so on) the rarest category by far is white people killing black people.
And they aren’t protesting the non-mixed-race murders of blacks killing blacks, which happens 10-times more often than whites killing blacks.
Black lives seem not to matter to these protesters if those black lives are ended by another black.

Janet Shagam - Fact #1: The Infection Fatality Rate for COVID-19...
Fact #1: The Infection Fatality Rate for COVID-19 is somewhere between 0.07-0.20%, in line with seasonal flu
Fact #2: The risk of dying from COVID-19 is much higher than the average IFR for older people and those with co-morbidities, and much lower than the average IFR for younger healthy people, and nearing zero for children
Fact #3: People infected with COVID-19 who are asymptomatic (which is most people) do NOT spread COVID-19
Fact #4: Emerging science shows no spread of COVID-19 in the community (shopping, restaurants, barbers, etc.)
"There is no significant risk of catching the disease when you go shopping. Severe outbreaks of the infection were always a result of people being closer together over a longer period of time…”
Fact #5: Published science shows COVID-19 is NOT spread outdoors
Fact #6: Science shows masks are ineffective to halt the spread of COVID-19, and The WHO recommends they should only be worn by healthy people if treating or living with someone with a COVID-19 infection
Fact #7: There’s no science to support the magic of a six-foot barrier
Fact #8: The idea of locking down an entire society had never been done and has no supportable science, only theoretical modeling
Fact #9: The epidemic models of COVID-19 have been disastrously wrong, and both the people and the practice of modeling has a terrible history
Fact #10: The data shows that lockdowns have NOT had an impact on the course of the disease.
Fact #11: Florida locked down late, opened early, and is doing fine, despite predictions of doom
Fact #12: New York’s above average death rate appears to be driven by a fatal policy error combined with aggressive intubations.
Fact #13: Public health officials and disease epidemiologists do NOT consider the other negative societal consequences of lockdowns
Fact #14: There is a predictive model for the viral arc of COVID-19, it’s called Farr’s Law, and it was discovered over 100 years ago
Fact #15: The lockdowns will cause more death and destruction than COVID-19 ever did
Fact #16: All these phased re-openings are utter nonsense with no science to support them, but they will all be declared a success.
