$70 for a racist toaster?-----If Magneto Were A Toaster, He Would Be This Ghetto Gastro Toaster | Bon Appetit

If Magneto Were A Toaster, He Would Be This Ghetto Gastro Toaster | Bon Appetit
"...While there are a few features that set the SATA toaster apart from the two-slice machine you already have—a bagel and a gluten-free setting, extra-wide slots—no one is buying this thing because it’s revolutionizing the toast sector.
They’re buying it, yes, because it’s matte black and glows red and looks cool, but also because of what Gastro Ghetto stands for. Chefs Jon Gray, Lester Walker, and Pierre Serrao work at the intersection of activism, design, and community empowerment.
They bill themselves as the “Black Power kitchen of tomorrow,” and they’re just as at home talking about the benefits of a mostly plant-based diet as they are about systems of oppression.
Come for the merch drops and sexed up waffle irons, stay for the discourse about red-lining, the prison-industrial complex, and food as a liberatory tool.
...Ghetto Gastro is fighting to dismantle the systemic marginalization of an historically oppressed community, and if that’s not some classic Magneto behavior, I don’t know what is...Read all.

Migrant caravan expects Biden administration's to have welcoming immigration - TheBlaze

Thousands of migrants from Central America are on their way to the United States, and a migrant activist group representing the caravan is calling for the Biden administration to honor its "commitment."  As many as 8,000 migrants from Honduras have entered Guatemala since Friday, Guatemala's immigration authority informed Reuters. Guatemalan authorities said they already had detained hundreds of Honduran migrants from the caravan.

How times have changed, media lovingly reports "demonstrators" at Trump inauguration-----Hundreds of rioters destroyed property, set fires during Trump's 2017 inauguration, and charges were dropped

Hundreds of rioters destroyed property, set fires during Trump's 2017 inauguration, and charges were dropped
"...As the FBI continues to arrest dozens of people allegedly involved in the Capitol Building riot earlier this month ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, it was just four years ago when similar rioting took place throughout Washington, D.C., as newly-inaugurated President Donald Trump began his term.
Only then, instead of right-wing protesters, it was a riot dominated by supporters of anarchist groups like Antifa and left-wing organizations including Black Lives Matter..
...Reports at the time noted that more than 214 people were indicted on felony rioting charges.
...Felony rioting, CNN noted, carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $25,000.
  • CNN went on to report that “the several hundred demonstrators who actively confronted officers were vastly outnumbered by the thousands of nonviolent protesters”...
In the end, 20 rioters pleaded guilty to charges related to violent protesting, the New York Times reported, including one person who copped to a felony and served four months in prison. After two group trials resulted in acquittals for all defendants, the government dropped charges against the rest, the Associated Press reported.
  • ...“That effort saw the government facing off against an intensely coordinated grassroots political opposition network that made Washington the focus of a nationwide support campaign offering free lodging for defendants, legal coordination, and other support,” the AP added
  • ...“This is huge news,” Washington-based activist Dylan Petrohilos, who was initially arrested but had his charges dropped earlier, said at the time. “The solidarity we showed as defendants won out.”
  • “Solidarity was what won the case,” Sam Menefee-Libey, a member of the leftist DC Legal Posse activist collective, said. “I hope that organizers and people on the left study it.”...Read all.

Even The Director Of Biden's National Economic Council Has Been Forced To Admit The Economy Is "Spiraling Downward"

Even The Director Of Biden's National Economic Council Has Been Forced To Admit The Economy Is "Spiraling Downward"
"...Brian Deese, the man who will shortly be serving as the head of the National Economic Council, has publicly stated that our economy is “spiraling downward” at this moment.
...All we need to do is to pass the 1.9 trillion dollar stimulus package that Joe Biden is proposing…
  • A top economic adviser to President-elect Joe Biden warned the US economy is “spiraling downward” and called for swift action to address vulnerabilities that the global pandemic has drawn into focus. Brian Deese, who will serve as director of Biden’s National Economic Council, said Sunday that the incoming administration’s $1.9 trillion spending plan would generate “the kind of robust recovery we need.”
That sounds so good.
All we have to do is press a button and we will be on our way to a “robust recovery”.
But what about all of the trillions of dollars that we already spent on all of the previous “stimulus packages”.
If they didn’t fix the economy, why will this one do it?
...The truth is that over the past year we have literally been committing national financial suicide.
Just look at what our leaders have done to our money supplyRead all!

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, a Democrat, was condemned online Friday after claiming that rhetoric doubting the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, such as claims that it was "rigged" or "stolen," is not constitutionally protected speech.

Despite previously criticizing President Trump for deploying the reserve force during last year's Black Lives Matter protests, in recent days Speaker Pelosi used the opportunity to thank troops stationed in Washington, D.C. for protecting "democracy" after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Rand Paul: Those immune to coronavirus should 'throw your mask away' and tell 'Fauci to take a leap'

Sen. Rand Paul warned this week that pro-coronavirus lockdown advocates will “never let up” and that they are defying science.

"They will never let up. There are doctors out there saying ... we may need to wear [masks] forever,” the Kentucky Republican told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on Friday. “That is ridiculous, and that defies the science."

Trump exposed the left's plan to cancel the right

History may remember President Donald Trump best not only as an artist of dealmaking and a courageous leader, but also as a teacher. By speaking truth to the left's power, he exposed the fear, hatred and violence inside leftists. One example of this has been captured in a hidden-camera recording of remarks by Michael Beller, principal counsel for PBS, the Public Broadcasting Service. His words were so hateful and indefensible that PBS fired him immediately when this Project Veritas video went public days ago.

A Michigan prosecutor says no thanks to cash bail. Will others follow? | Bridge Michigan
"On any given day in jails across Michigan, thousands of inmates sit behind bars as they await a criminal trial for a simple reason: They didn’t have the money to post bail.
...But that is set to change in Washtenaw County, as new County Prosecutor Eli Savit will no longer seek cash bail as a condition of release before trial.
...Maddock told Bridge in an email: “Sadly, our criminal justice system is under attack and is being pushed to benefit criminals instead of victims. When all these people released with zero bail don’t show up, then what are they going to do? That’s what we all need to ask to ensure the safety of our neighborhoods.”...Read all.

Texas State Historical Assn’s Chief Historian Says the Alamo Was an ‘Insignificant’ Battle and Represents ‘Whiteness.’ What Do Texas History Experts and the Facts Say?
"This past week, Texas State Historical Association chief historian Walter Buenger made two controversial assertions regarding the Alamo in a story published by USA Today.
"Although the battle has become a symbol of patriotism and freedom for many Texans and Americans, like the Confederate monuments erected after the Civil War, the myth of the Alamo has been used to “commemorate whiteness,” according to Walter L Buenger, Texas State Historical Association chair.
...“It became in some ways a sort of symbol of Anglo-Saxon preeminence,” he said. “The Alamo became this symbol of what it meant to be white.”
Buenger is currently the Texas State Historical Association’s chief historian as well as holding a major post at the University of Texas at Austin.
The TSHA is not a state agency, it’s a nonprofit, but it plays a key role in history education in Texas schools, and of being an authoritative repository of the state’s history through its online Handbook of Texas.
As Michelle Haas, editor of the Copano Bay Press, notes, Buenger’s role lends him a great deal of influence and power over how Texas history is recorded and taught...Read all!

What the Capitol insurgency reveals about white supremacy and law enforcement
"Make no mistake, the Capitol insurgency was about making America great for white people.
In erecting a hangman’s noose, waving the Confederate flag, and wearing white nationalist paraphernalia, including an Auschwitz Concentration Camp shirt, the domestic terrorists showed America they fundamentally believe in maintaining and enacting white supremacy.
Donald Trump, and Trumpism as an ideology, has opened a Pandora’s box of hate into the American mainstream, giving the permission some racists needed to reveal themselves proudly and wreak havoc on symbols of American democracy that have withstood wars and attacks for centuries...Read all.
