Amazon Fights Against Mail-In Voting in Union Decision to Preserve 'Vote Fidelity'

"E-commerce giant Amazon is reportedly seeking to postpone a unionization vote at a warehouse in Alabama and is fighting back against federal labor authorities’ decision to allow mail-in voting.

Amazon claims it has created a “safe, confidential and convenient proposal for associates to vote on-site, which is in the best interest of all parties—associate convenience, vote fidelity and timeliness of vote count.”

Biden Rescinds Trump Order Banning Chinese Communist Involvement In US Power Grid

President Biden has revoked a Trump-era executive order that sought to keep foreign countries and companies out of America’s bulk power systems – principally entities associated with the Chinese Communist Party – as part of his “Executive Order on Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis.”

The executive order, which executes key tenets of President Biden’s climate change agenda, was released on the former Veep’s first day in office.
Section 7 of the massive order, which includes the revocation of the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline, also revokes several climate and energy-focused executive orders penned by the Trump administration.
Subpoint C notes that “Executive Order 13920 of May 1, 2020 (Securing the United States Bulk-Power System), is hereby suspended for 90 days.”

"...Partially due to the Covid-19 pandemic, much of our country rushed without preparation to universal mail-in voting last year.

In the process, we blew away some long-standing laws, procedures and constitutional requirements that guarantee fair elections.

The thrown-together process in Pennsylvania, for example, may have violated the state constitution. Since the 19th century, that constitution has required all votes to be cast in person, with narrowly defined exceptions.

...In elections past, when Democrats have objected to the presidential electoral process, they've been lauded as heroes safeguarding the right to vote, not insurrectionists subverting it.

...My vote was about elections to come, in 2022, 2024 and beyond, and seeing that they are conducted fairly.

We have to repair the mess at the polls in 2020 if we are to restore Americans' trust in our elections process.

"...Suppose we have run our “one time” final expansion and are at 200% debt to GDP ratio.

The next big crisis hits — a war, pandemic, financial mess, or all three.

The US wants to borrow another 20% of GDP, and roll over the outstanding debt.

Markets get worried and demand, say, 5% rates.

That means 10% of GDP more primary deficit, or 10% of GDP more borrowing, 30% of GDP, plus the roll-over.

Moreover, the consequent write-down of asset values leads inevitably to another big Wall Street bailout and asset purchases, all with more borrowed money.
