"This malaise feels different."
JAMES LILEKS’ WEDNESDAY REVIEW OF MODERN THOUGHT:
"The mood was jittery. No one knew what was coming, except that it seemed to be coming from two directions. The early days after Pearl were not a smoothly-run affair, an effortless tooling up...
I felt that same mood in youth, after Vietnam, when the country was seized by the idea that it couldn’t do anything, couldn’t make anything — and what we did make was bad, like our lousy cars...
This malaise feels different. Before, it seemed as if there were forces both vague and specific that caused our ills. History had turned against us.
Now, it feels entirely self-imposed by a class of managerial technocrats whose indifference is matched only by their incompetence, and a disconnected, destructive, frivolous intellectual class that looks daft and mad to the unwoke.
Read the whole thing.
UPDATE (FROM GLENN): The answer is purges. Our institutions need to be cleansed of the woke, the crazy, and the inept — but I repeat myself. This would have been gentler by far if Trump had been re-elected in 2020. It will be much less so whenever it comes now. And it will come.--Posted by Ed Driscoll"
The left is, ALWAYS, lying to us AND to themselves!-----Rolling Stone 'Horse Dewormer' Hit-Piece Debunked After Hospital Says No Ivermectin Overdoses | ZeroHedge
Rolling Stone's Jon Blistein led the charge:
It was suspect from the beginning.
The report, sourced to local Oaklahoma outlet KFOR's Katelyn Ogle, cites Oklahoma ER doctor Dr. Jason McElyea - who claimed that people overdosing on ivermectin horse dewormer are causing emergency rooms to be "so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting" access to health facilities.
As people take the drug, McElyea said patients have arrived at hospitals with negative reactions like nausea, vomiting, muscle aches, and cramping — or even loss of sight.“The scariest one that I’ve heard of and seen is people coming in with vision loss,” the doctor said. -Rolling Stone
Except, the article provided zero evidence for McElyea's claims, causing people to start asking questions.

"...remember: Ivermectin is such a miracle drug that it won the Nobel Prize."-----Two utterly fascinating facts about COVID (Part 2) - American Thinker
Right now, the medical establishment is doing the equivalent of a doctor who, when he concludes that you are in the early stages of a sinus infection, sends you home without any antibiotics and, instead, tells you to return when you're septic.
The bias against early intervention is so strong that the same people lecturing people about vaccines are also assuring them that ivermectin, which has been touted as a possible treatment, is in fact an incredibly dangerous horse de-worming medicine.

In fact, the vast majority of abortions occur within the first 10 weeks of pregnancy, and a plurality within the first six weeks...

Instead of the left informing women of their “rights” within the bounds of the new law, the left’s disingenuous talking point makes it seem like they have none at all – even while, sadly, it appears that the majority of abortions will be able to legally continue...Read all!

More than 30 California children likely remain stranded in Afghanistan, days after President Joe Biden evacuated U.S. forces from the country while abandoning billions of dollars worth of military equipment to the Taliban terrorists.
According to California school board officials in three districts, which confirmed the U.S. legal status of the children to the Associated Press (AP), 30 children “have been forgotten by the U.S. government.”
And excuses abound! A disgrace! Child abuse!!!-----Michigan releases M-STEP scores: Here's where students fell behind
Those scores, and separate data also released from benchmark assessments of students across the state from the previous school year, illustrate just how much learning was interrupted through the pandemic.
...“These new data demonstrate what national research predicted: Michigan’s students have experienced significant unfinished learning during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Amber Arellano, executive director of the Education Trust-Midwest, a nonprofit education advocacy group.
...While the results show more than a quarter of students falling behind grade level, Katharine Strunk, a researcher with EPIC and a professor at MSU's College of Education, said the results don't mean students learned nothing at all last year.
"Students learned through the year in Michigan," she said. "And I think that that's a really critical piece of it. ... But they did not grow in their learning as much as might have been predicted in a typical year."

A School Movement Targeting Minorities That Works. But Progressives Don't Like It. | RealClearInvestigations
"Michael Landsbaum hit bottom after his father lost his job and couldn’t pay rent, leaving the teenager homeless in Dallas.
But Pathways in Technology Early College High School did much more than provide him with a place to stay at a counselor’s home.
“My goal was to get my associate’s degree, and when I got that, things got a whole lot easier,” he says.
Landsbaum, 20, is finishing his bachelor’s in computer science at the University of North Texas – a turnaround that’s typical of the school, part of a growing movement better known by its acronym P-TECH.
Founded in 2011 by IBM and the Bloomberg administration in New York City, P-TECH has spread to 10 states with 127 schools as of last year, achieving remarkable results for the low-income, black and Latino students they serve.

Ann(e) • 2 hours ago My 19 yo son ran his own pressure washing/handyman business this summer. One day he stopping into Popeyes for a chicken sandwich and the manager offered him a job on the spot. $23/hr starting. The manager said, “my people don’t know how to work and you look like you do.” Apparently they wanted some perfectionism and punctuality at Popeyes.

If you believe that minorities can't find a location to cast a vote, are incapable of passing in high school, just need to express themselves by rioting, and should be allowed to have a good old knife fight, you are woke.
