The report found that the New York Department of Health failed to meet federal directives to inspect for infection control problems, reporting on only 20% of facilities between March and May 2020 – compared to over 90% for other states.
Energy reliability is everything - CFACT
- A recent Wall Street Journal article, The Power Struggle, raised the importance of grid reliability, but claimed that electric grid failures were caused by climate change.
The claim that climate risk is undermining grid reliability is an illusion. The WSJ article correctly diagnosed the danger of blackouts, but incorrectly determined that the cause was climate change.
It is their proposed cure, i.e.,more wind, solar and batteries for storage, that is causing the problem.
As usual, some of their assumptions are wrong.
For example, the WSJ article said:
- “Wind and solar technologies have become increasingly cost-competitive and now rival coal, nuclear and, in some places, gas-fired plants.”...
Here are some facts:
- Wind and solar are not less costly than existing natural gas combined cycle (NGCC), coal-fired or nuclear power plants. They are also not less costly than new NGCC power plants. And they are, without question, far more costly when the cost of batteries, needed to backup up wind and solar, are included in the cost of generating and distributing electricity...Read all.

Hide the children!!-----Yes, The Senate Should Investigate Jackson's Leniency To Sex Predators
"...But research released this week by Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, calls into question Judge Jackson’s judicial philosophy concerning sex predators, particularly sentencing for child sex predators.
...her record also demonstrates an attempt to normalize a radical sexual ideology of adults being attracted to minors – categorizing it not as flatly criminal, but simply as misunderstood.
Judge Jackson’s Disturbing Pattern...at the U.S. Sentencing Commission, Judge Jackson advocated for eliminating the existing mandatory minimum sentences for child porn, suggesting that at least some people who possess child porn aren’t sexually motivated, but simply “in this for either the collection, or the people who are loners and find status in their participation in the community.”
While on the federal bench, Judge Jackson demonstrated a continuous string of departures from sentencing guidelines for sex predators...Read all!!

- Record inflation is leading to food shortages on shelves across the US.
That problem is shortages of food and fertilizer brought about by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions enacted by the West in response.
- Ukraine is a major wheat producer, but war is likely to ensure a poor spring planting and harvest. Russia is also a major grower, but sanctions and war will prevent it from exporting to most of the world.

Comedy Icon John Cleese Has Mic Taken for Mocking Reparations
Riffing on an alleged joke about colonialism by Daily Show correspondent Dulcé Sloan, who is black, Cleese is said to have remarked that people “forget the British Empire was the basic political unit of organization for 6,000 years – the British didn’t start [colonising].”
Indeed, colonisation and empire-building was conducted not only by the British, French, Russians, and other European peoples, but by non-white civilisations such as that of the Arabs, which spread by conquest from the Arabian peninsula through the Levant, North Africa, and — for a time — Spain and Portugal, and that of the Turks, who originate in Central Asia but have now almost totally displaced the predominantly Greek, Christian civilisation of Anatolia and East Thrace, including the former Constantinople — lending credence to the old adage that “many a true word is said in jest”.
