More States Move to Affirm Parental Rights in Education
Florida has been the center of national attention for weeks over its new Parental Rights in Education law, but it’s not alone: Across the country, state lawmakers are introducing similar legislation.
Florida’s law—inaccurately dubbed “the Don’t Say Gay law” by opponents—prohibits “classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity” to children in kindergarten through third grade or in a manner that isn’t age appropriate according to state standards.
A report by The Heritage Foundation says that other states are responding to parent dissatisfaction by increasing classroom transparency and asserting parents’ rights as decision-makers for their children. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation.)
“Lawmakers around the country are considering parents’ bills of rights that affirm that parents are their children’s primary caregivers, prevent schools from compelling students to affirm ideas that violate the Civil Rights Act of 1964, require schools to receive parental permission before administering health services to children, and authorize parents to view the list of books and instructional materials for K–12 classrooms,” the Heritage report reads.
In recent months, these five states—among others—have taken action to limit discussion of gender ideology in the classroom and to protect parents’ rights in K-12 education.
Elon Musk Makes a Massive Proposal, Offers to Purchase Twitter for $41 Billion With Plan to Take Company Private - The Last Refuge
"...What Elon Musk appears to be doing is perhaps the biggest story that few understand.
I share this perspective having spent thousands of hours in the past several years deep in the weeds of tech operating systems, communication platforms, and the issue of simultaneous users.
In the big picture of tech platforms, Twitter, as an operating model, is a massive high-user commenting system.
Twitter is not a platform built around a website; Twitter is a platform for comments and discussion that operates in the sphere of social media.
There is no business model where Twitter is financially viable to operate…. UNLESS the tech architecture under the platform was subsidized.
In my opinion, there is only one technological system and entity that could possibly underwrite the cost of Twitter to operate.
Elect morons, expect moronism-----Parachute demo causes brief evacuation of US Capitol | WAVY.com
"WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Capitol was briefly evacuated Wednesday evening after police identified an aircraft that they said posed “a probable threat” — but the plane was actually carrying members of the U.S. Army Golden Knights, who then parachuted into Nationals Park for a pregame demonstration.
The alert from the U.S. Capitol Police sent congressional staffers fleeing from the Capitol and legislative building around 6:30 p.m.
The incident suggested a stunning communications failure between the military and the Capitol Police, all the more remarkable because of Washington’s focus on improving security since the January 6, 2021, attack on the building by supporters of then-President Donald Trump..."

Another lib projecting his inner rage-----Paul Krugman predicts those wearing KN95s will soon be facing harassment and even violence
Is harassment bad? Because we did plenty of posts on people being harassed for not wearing a mask. Here’s one as a refresher:
But that was good harassment, right, because it was all about public health. We honestly don’t care if anyone wears a mask or not at this point, just don’t force it on us..."

Citing ‘equity,’ nation’s largest four-year university system drops SAT, ACT admissions requirement
"The 23-campus California State University has dropped the SAT and ACT standardized tests requirement for its admissions process, citing equity concerns.
The move means no student need take standardized exams to enroll in California’s public higher education system...
The California State University is the largest four-year higher education system in the country with 477,000 students.

“CBS Sunday Morning” Puts all its Eggs in Chicken Little’s ‘Reposition Global Warming as Theory (Not Fact)’ Basket
"...CBS Sunday Morning program did with their “Suing over climate change: Taking fossil fuel companies to court” report...how enviro-activists indeed only have one viable-looking weapon in their arsenal when it comes to supporting their claim that fossil fuel companies deceived the public into thinking no harm was happening while ‘knowing’ their products were causing catastrophic man-caused global warming.
- The premise of CBS’ 6:45 minute segment was quite simple, featuring Charleston, South Carolina Mayor John Tecklenburg offering his views on sea level rise, and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong assuring the CBS audience that the lyin’ Exxon company knew in the early 1980s about the certainty of man-caused global warming.
- David Middleton, a guest post author at Anthony Watts’ WUWT website, has already dealt at quite some depth with the faults of Mayor Tecklenburg’s ‘science’ assertions. Attorney General Tong’s assertion of Exxon knowing in 1982 that “as the levels of carbon dioxide rise, the temperature of our atmosphere will rise” is contradicted by Exxon’s own 1982 document expressing sizable doubt about what computer models were predicting. That document also inconveniently dates to within two years of newspaper accounts speculating on the dim prospect of a new ice age, a larger science discussion which Exxon quite likely also knew about.,,Read all!

The U.S. Has A Potemkin Government, And It's Not Just Joe Biden
- Joe Biden is a symbol of the entire federal government: Its dangerous incompetence, corruption, and utter disrespect for the American people and the rule of law.
...This is what you call a Potemkin Congress. We have a Potemkin president, a Potemkin Congress, and a partially Potemkin Supreme Court.
Can you think of any domain in which the federal government has been successful in the past, say, 20 years?
- Have we won any wars?
- Is our military even ready should China make a move?
- Is our nation in good economic health? Is our infrastructure strong, clean, and advanced?
- Are our education systems and families producing a majority of citizens who are competent and productive?
- Are our streets clean, lively, and safe?
- Or do we have record numbers of homeless people, record numbers of unparented children, record numbers of people on street and pharmaceutical drugs, record numbers of people failing to create or sustain families, and record numbers of barren, hysterical harpies and neurotic, emasculated men, with most being subsidized somehow by a shrinking number of people who work at legitimately productive and joyous vocations?
- Does our nation look thriving, vigorous, and advancing to you, or like essentially a people that has lost its will to live?..."

Blinded Me with Violence: How the Left Fosters 'Hate Crime' Then Plays the Victim
...Let’s not even get started on the surge of Soros-funded DAs who refuse to send black criminals — even violent miscreants — to jail. New York’s commie District Attorney, Alvin Braggs, is now actually allowing people to have their convictions “reviewed.”
...Black supremacist Darryl Brooks also sees black people as victims of racism; he’s the guy who was so enraged that he ran over 62 white people in Waukesha, WI.
Life-long thug? And collapse of "public safety" myth?-----"...information on Patrick Lyoya, the man who was shot in the head and killed by a Grand Rapids Police (MI) officer."
"I am posting this information on Patrick Lyoya, the man who was shot in the head and killed by a Grand Rapids Police officer.
Lyoya was pulled over according to media reports because the license plate didn’t match his vehicle, an indicator of a stolen vehicle according to police. The result was tragic.
The information you are about to read cost $10 and came from the Michigan State Police Internet Criminal Access Tool and it gives some insight to the question: Why did Patrick Lyoya flee the scene of a traffic stop and fight with a police officer?
The documents provided by the Michigan State Police and the state of Michigan’s Offender Tracking Information System say this:
- Lyoya was on probation until 2023 and had been arrested eight times since 2015. He was arrested and pled guilty to three different charges involving stolen cars.
- On May 14, 2016, he was arrested for felony motor vehicle unlawful driving away and pled guilty to the misdemeanor possession of a master key. A police officer explained to me that probably means he filed down a key of one Honda and the filed down key can often work on other Hondas – hence “master key.”
- Six days later, he was arrested for another felony receiving and concealing a motor vehicle and pled guilty to the misdemeanor unlawful use. (These technical definitions are very hard to understand.)
- In 2017, he was charged with the felony of stolen property receiving and concealing a motor vehicle. He pled guilty to misdemeanor motor vehicle.
- On April 4, 2017 he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence, knowingly assaulting a pregnant individual. He pled guilty. The information on the police report gives no indication of the severity of the offense.
I don't know what the officer knew at the scene."
