New Study on the Cause of Global Warming Might ‘Take People by Surprise’

New Study on the Cause of Global Warming Might ‘Take People by Surprise’ | TheBlaze.com: "Using independent data from 1900 to 2012, researchers showed that the temperature change is “primarily attributed to changes in atmospheric circulation.”
This, they wrote, “presents a significant reinterpretation of the region’s recent climate change origins.”
“Surface winds and wind-driven ocean currents have large effects on temperatures in and around the northeast Pacific Ocean; they dominate the overall temperature variability and also account for a large fraction of the warming trend,” Jim Johnstone, lead author of the study, said in a statement. “West Coast sea surface and coastal air temperatures evolved in lockstep with changing patterns of atmospheric pressure and winds.”
To the Associated Press, Johnstone said that these findings show that “there are other factors stronger than the greenhouse forcing that is affecting those temperatures.”
According to the news release from the National and Atmospheric Administration’s Southwest Fisheries Science Center, the study, on a broader note, shows how regional climate could skew interpretations of what is going on with the climate on a global scale."

Gerard Depardieu says he can drink "12, 13, 14 bottles" of wine a day

Gerard Depardieu says he can drink "12, 13, 14 bottles" of wine a day - CBS News:
"You might want to avoid ever getting into a drinking contest with Gerard Depardieu.
The French-born actor said in a recent interview that he drinks at least 12 bottles of wine every day without feeling drunk.
Depardieu, 65, suffered a heart attack in 2000 and he has had to have bypass surgery on at least five occasions, but he says that doesn't stop him from sipping on vino in copious amounts.
"I can't drink like a normal person," Depardieu revealed to So Film U.K.
"I can absorb 12, 13, 14 bottles [of wine]...per day.
But I'm never totally drunk, just a little pissed."
The actor also disclosed his secret to sobering up quickly.
"All you need is a 10-minute nap and voilà, a slurp of rosé wine and I feel as fresh as a daisy," said Depardieu."

Say What? Government Unable to Explain What it Did With $3.7 BILLION Spent on Obamacare | Real America

Say What? Government Unable to Explain What it Did With $3.7 BILLION Spent on Obamacare | Real America:
"The report goes on to say one agency that received significant funding “could not verify its total costs of staff salaries, travel, polling or total advertising spent on ObamaCare.” You read that right. We threw a ton of money at agencies at they cannot tell us what they did with the money.
Meanwhile, 2015 is the year this failed legislation is going to start hitting the economy. It’s going to hit the economy like a freight train full of bricks and the government has no explanation as to what it’s actually doing."

Manufacturing Excuses So Iran Can Get Nukes

Manufacturing Excuses So Iran Can Get Nukes
Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Post, in a February 24, 2012 essay, quotes intelligence officials: "Calm down, Iran's missiles can't (and won't) hit the East Coast." Former CIA Mideast analyst Paul Pillar assures us that, "the intelligence community does not believe the Iranians are anywhere close to having an ICBM".
Even when the U.S. acknowledges that Iranian missiles can hit targets throughout the Middle East and much of Europe, especially U.S. allies and key security facilities, some intelligence analysts find a way to make such missiles seem less threatening.

U.S. intelligence reports to Congress, for example, proclaim in all seriousness that Iran's missiles, and even its nuclear programs, exist merely to ensure regime survival.
The Arms Control Association, for instance, approvingly quotes an administration report that, "Since the revolution, Iran's first priority has consistently remained the survival of the regime" and that is why they are building and deploying ballistic missiles.

Jimmy's coming, but where are the activists? - Chicago Tribune: "
If Jimmy Fallon really wants to grab Mayor Rahm Emanuel's attention when he brings "The Tonight Show" to Chicago for another mutual ear-licking session, Jimmy might ask this:
When will Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson Sr. show up in Chicago to show Ferguson-style outrage over the assassination of 9-year-old Antonio Smith?
I don't think Rahm will like that too much.
And neither will Sharpton or Jackson.
But a little boy has been gunned down by Chicago street gangs — the shooter allegedly said, "I just hit a shorty, I just hit a shorty," and there has been precious little national outrage over it.
There was plenty of televised outrage over the Ferguson, Mo., death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, who was shot by a white cop.
9-year-old is executed:
Where's the outrage?

10 Dark Truths About Beloved Famous People

10 Dark Truths About Beloved Famous People - Listverse
10-Sean Connery
In his movies, Sean Connery’s take on James Bond didn’t exactly treat females with the utmost respect. Sadly, off screen the Scottish actor doesn’t appear to be much different. He has denied allegations that he beat his ex-wife, Diane Cilento, when she refused to give up her film career after they got married. However, in several interviews he has expressed an indifference toward domestic abuse, most notably in a 1965 Playboy article, where he stated that he felt an “openhanded slapevery now and then was no big deal if a woman was provoking him.
Closer to the present day, in 1987 Connery told television personality Barbara Walters that in situations where a woman won’t let you have the last word, it is “absolutely right” to hit a woman...

Don’t Believe Government About Price Inflation

Don’t Believe Government About Price Inflation | Somewhat Reasonable:
"Let’s look at a somewhat detailed breakdown of some of the different price categories hidden beneath the CPI aggregate of prices as a whole.
In the twelve-month period ending in July 2014, food prices in general rose 2.5 percent. A seemingly modest amount.
However, meat, poultry, fish and egg prices increased, together, by 7.6 percent.
But when we break this aggregate down, we find that beef and veal prices increased by 10.4 percent and frankfurters went up 6.9 percent, but lamb rose by only by 1.7 percent.
Chicken prices increased more moderately at 2.7 percent, but fresh fish and seafood were 8.8 percent higher than a year earlier.
Milk was up 5.4 percent in price, but ice cream products decreased in price by minus 1.4 percent over the period.
Fruits increased by 5.7 percent at the same time that fresh vegetable prices declined by minus 0.5 percent.
Under the general energy commodity heading, prices went up by 1.2 percent, but propane increased by 7.3 percent in price over the twelve-month period, while electricity prices, on the other hand, increased by 4 percent.
So why does the overall average of the Consumer Price Index seem so moderate at a measured 2 percent, given the higher prices of these individual categories of goods?
Because furniture and bedding prices decreased by minus 3.1 percent, and major appliances declined in price over the period by minus 6.2.
New televisions went down a significant minus15 percent
In addition, men’s apparel went down a minus 0.2 percent over the twelve months, but women’s outerwear rose a dramatic 12.3 percent in the same time frame.
And boys and girls footwear went up, on average, by 8.2 percent.
Medical care services, in general, rose by 2.5 percent, but inpatient and outpatient hospital services increased, respectively, by 6.8 percent and 5.6 percent."

‘Single complaint’ of perceived racism triggers Obama education department probe - EAGnews.org:
".....reported that the “formal investigation centers on discovering if the school district unfairly disciplines black students.”

...“Despite calling it an open forum,” reported CBS 2, “our television cameras were banned from the civil rights meeting.”
Most of the deliberations are being conducted “in private,” according to the report. Journalist Matt Hammill said,
“[T]his investigation – very secretive – one of the reasons we were kicked out tonight…”
Earlier this month, it was reported that the federal investigation into the Cedar Rapids School District was based on a “single complaint,” according to Mary Ellen Maske, deputy superintendent.
As a result of that single complaint, the feds are investigating “Washington, Kennedy and Metro high schools, Franklin, Taft and McKinley Middle Schools and Grant and Harrison Elementary schools.”

As Americans Were Distracted with Holder’s Resignation, Obama Issues a New Executive Order on Immigration

As Americans Were Distracted with Holder’s Resignation, Obama Issues a New Executive Order on Immigration:
"As the country focused on the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder, the most lawless attorney general this nation has ever seen, President Obama quietly issued an executive order to allow illegal immigrants to join the United States military."

The 7 most ridiculous things Eric Holder has said and done

The 7 most ridiculous things Eric Holder has said and done | Rare
Today he announced that he’s stepping down.
Let’s take an opportunity to remember some of his most truly outrageous moments.
Racial justice in New Haven
When the New Haven Fire Department announced that it had openings for firefighters, an exam was administered for qualified applicants. A number of test-takers passed, but there was a problem: none of them were African Americans. On this basis, the city of New Haven declared the test results null and void.
Behaving like a child
Congressman Louie Gohmert got the opportunity to cross-examine Holder in 2012 over the Boston Marathon bombings. Gohmert and Holder had a tense exchange that ended with Gohmert bungling his words and declaring, “The attorney general will not cast aspersions on my asparagus!” Fast-forward to 2013 and Gohmert and Holder were going at it again. Holder ended his side of the argument by sneering, “Good luck with your asparagus.”
Eric doesn’t know, Eric doesn’t know
Speaking of congressional testimonies, Eric Holder was repeatedly summoned before various committees over the years, usually related to one of the many scandals that plagued his department. Holder usually responded by mimicking a mid-level manager who had just started his job earlier that week, scratching his head and saying he just didn’t know.
The only sitting Cabinet member held in contempt of Congress
This one mostly speaks for itself.
Spying on and intimidating journalists
A good Justice Department should seek to enforce the First Amendment. Not so Eric Holder’s.
“I’m proud to be an activist attorney general”
In an August interview with Juan Williams, Holder boldly proclaimed that he was proud to accept the label of “activist attorney general.” He also declared: “Any attorney general who is not an activist is not doing his or her job.”
Drone ‘em at home too — actually, never mind
You may recall the controversial secret memos drawn up by Judge David Barron, which provided legal justification for the Yemen drone strike that killed American citizens without a trial. This underhanded justification, along with the appointment of CIA Director John Brennan and an alarming letter from Eric Holder, sparked Senator Rand Paul to speak for 13 hours in a filibuster.

Of All Places, Ambulance Takes 25 Minutes to Respond to City Hall For Sick Reporter –  Deadline Detroit:

"Ambulance response times are apparently still an issue plaguing the city of Detroit.
The latest incident involves Detroit News reporter Darren Nichols, who was suffering stroke-like symptoms at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center on Thursday morning.
Amy Lange of Fox 2 reports that it took an ambulance 25-minutes to respond to city hall.
The national average is eight minutes.
You'd think of all places, an ambulance would respond fairly promptly to city hall.
Fox 2 reported that Free Press reporter Matt Helms called 911 about 10:10 a.m. and called again, with his last attempt being about 10:30 p.m.
"It took 25 minutes for the EMS to arrive," Helms told Fox 2.
"We were literally outside listening for sirens, and didn't hear any,""

My democrat "friends" are gettin' a bit hysterical!

We're done. Go Home. Give up.

We’re nearly out of time -- so we won't waste any:

A just released poll from Rasmussen Reports shows the race for Congress is TIED, 4O%-4O%. And now Boehner has launched the largest TV ad buy of the election to try and break the tie.

If we let Boehner succeed -- then all hope will be lost for us to win a Democratic House for President Obama’s last years in office.

To be blunt about it: we’re 5 days from the most critical deadline of the entire election. If we fall behind now, we can just throw in the towel. Go home. Give up.

We just ran the numbers: it’ll take another 3728 donations tonight to be able to compete. Ralph -- if you’re planning to chip in soon, we could really use your support right now.

NH school board rejects 2,841 donated pocket Constitutions - EAGnews.org: "WINDHAM, N.H. –
The Windham, New Hampshire school board members wrestled with an apparently controversial topic at a recent meeting:
Whether or not to accept free pocket Constitutions to distribute to students.

After a see saw discussion, in which board members voted against the move before eventually accepting copies of the founding document, district officials seemed dumbfounded about whether giving students copies was the right thing to do, the Union Leader reports.

“It seems like they’re not really standing behind this,” said Webster resident Terry Cox, who wasn’t very impressed by three board members who initially voted against the idea. “These three struggled with how to distribute these booklets once they accepted them and seemed to fear what would happen if teachers personally gave them out.”
