FBI: Texas Hospice Boss Texted Nurses Execution Orders for Patients

FBI: Texas Hospice Boss Texted Nurses Execution Orders for Patients - The Daily Beast:
"The founder and CEO of a hospice services company instructed nurses to administer fatal overdoses to patients who had ‘been on the hospice service for too long,’ the FBI alleges.
As the FBI tells it, Brad Harris became a one-man private death panel as the owner and CEO of a Texas hospice.
“You need to make this patient go bye-bye,” Harris texted one his nurses at Novus Health Care Services, as recounted in an FBI search warrant affidavit.
The Feb. 5 affidavit, first reported by NBC 5 in Dallas, further alleges that 34-year-old Harris said of another patient, “If this f**k would just die.”
On at least four occasions, the affidavit says, Harris instructed nurses to administer overdoses to patients who had “been on the hospice service for too long.”
In one instance, Harris allegedly texted a nurse to dispatch a lingerer “by increasing the patient’s medication dosage to approximately four times the maximum allowed.”
The motive for the big hurry, the affidavit says, was money.
Hospice care is no longer the province of nuns and other noble religious volunteers.
It is now a multibillion-dollar industry where companies compete for patients who translate into taxpayer bucks.
To control the greed and the accompanying costs, the federal government imposes an annual “aggregate” cap for hospice care of $27,820.75 per Medicaid/Medicare patient..."

In CBO’s Projections, a Growing Reason to Worry About the Federal Debt

In CBO’s Projections, a Growing Reason to Worry About the Federal Debt - Washington Wire - WSJ
"Convincing Americans that they should worry about the federal deficit and debt is tough, despite all those warnings about the inevitable crisis.
Brookings Institution chart of projected increase in interest obligations on federal debt, based on data from the Office of Management and Budget and the Congressional Budget Office. The federal debt, the sum total of all the government’s past borrowing, is huge by historical standards: bigger as a share of the economy than at any time in U.S. history except for World War II. Yet the U.S. Treasury still is able to borrow billions every day at very low interest rates. Investors demand less than 2% to lend to the Treasury for 10 years.
But the trajectory of the debt is worrisome for one inescapable reason:
When you owe a lot of money and interest rates rise, your interest tab mounts.
Today, interest consumes a bit more than 6% of all federal outlays.
But the latest Congressional Budget Office baseline projections suggest that, without new tax or spending legislation, interest will account for more than 13% of all federal outlays in 2026.
That’s partly because interest rates are expected to rise from today’s very low levels; CBO expects the average yield on 10-year Treasury notes, now around 1.9%, to climb to 4.1% over the next decade.
There will also be more debt on which to pay interest because the government will be borrowing each year to cover the deficit."

Another Climate Alarmist Admits Real Motive Behind Warming Scare

Another Climate Alarmist Admits Real Motive Behind Warming Scare | Stock News & Stock Market Analysis - IBD:
"...We have been told now for almost three decades that man has to change his ways or his fossil-fuel emissions will scorch Earth with catastrophic warming.
Scientists, politicians and activists have maintained the narrative that their concern is only about caring for our planet and its inhabitants.
But this is simply not true.
The narrative is a ruse.
They are after something entirely different.
If they were honest, the climate alarmists would admit that they are not working feverishly to hold down global temperatures — they would acknowledge that they are instead consumed with the goal of holding down capitalism and establishing a global welfare state.
Have doubts?
Then listen to the words of former United Nations climate official Ottmar Edenhofer:
“One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with the environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole,” said Edenhofer, who co-chaired the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change working group on Mitigation of Climate Change from 2008 to 2015.
So what is the goal of environmental policy?
“We redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy,” said Edenhofer.
For those who want to believe that maybe Edenhofer just misspoke and doesn’t really mean that, consider that a little more than five years ago he also said that “the next world climate summit in Cancun is actually an economy summit during which the distribution of the world’s resources will be negotiated.”
Mad as they are, Edenhofer’s comments are nevertheless consistent with other alarmists who have spilled the movement’s dirty secret.
Last year, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, made a similar statement.
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said in anticipation of last year’s Paris climate summit.
“This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”
The plan is to allow Third World countries to emit as much carbon dioxide as they wish — because, as Edenhofer said, “in order to get rich one has to burn coal, oil or gas” — while at the same time restricting emissions in advanced nations.
This will, of course, choke economic growth in developed nations, but they deserve that fate as they “have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community,” he said.
The fanaticism runs so deep that one professor has even suggested that we need to plunge ourselves into a depression to fight global warming.

A test and our future?-----Syria-Linked Hacking Group Gains Access to Water Plant

Syria-Linked Hacking Group Gains Access to Water Plant:
"Hackers altered the ratio of the chemicals in the water, but staff noticed and took action.
Jihadists have previously attempted to poison water supplies.
A “hacktivist group with ties to Syria” has hacked into the control system of a water treatment facility and altered the ratio of the chemicals in the water, according to technology news site The Register.
The hackers “managed to manipulate the system to alter the amount of chemicals that went into the water supply and thus handicap water treatment and production capabilities so that the recovery time to replenish water supplies increased” according to an investigation conducted by forensic experts working for Verizon Security Solutions.
Staff was able to quickly identify and reverse the changes and at no point did the water become poisonous.
No motive for the attack has been confirmed and the location of the plant, owned by Kemuri Water Systems, has not been revealed.
Jihadists have attempted to hack water plants before.
In 2002 federal officials arrested   two Al-Qaeda suspects who planned to poison water supplies in the US. In 2003 an Al-Qaeda spokesman threatened to poison water supplies in Western cities.
An accomplice of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11, admitted to plotting with him to poison water reservoirs in America.
More recently in 2015 the Islamic State are believed to have plotted to poison water supplies in Kosovo, leading to security services cutting off the water supply of the capital city Pristina."

LIBERTY REVIEW

LIBERTY REVIEW:

Say Communism!

By Tammy Derouin

It was bad enough that the executive not only went to Cuba, but he willingly posed for the cameras in front of a mural of Che Guevara.  Say Communism!  There should have been an enormous amount of outrage considering Che was a Marxist revolutionary.  But, he has become an iconic symbol of leftist radicalism. So, an American president posing with Che in the background must be the new normal.

Do you see a pattern?  Obama enjoys aligning himself with individuals and regimes which are in direct contrast to our fundamental, founding beliefs.  The executive really enjoys mocking the United States, doesn’t he?  You can almost see the twinkle in his eyes as he mixes and mingles among tyrants around the world.  Of course, it wasn’t long before things took yet another embarrassing turn.

While Belgium, one of our European friends, was under attack, our anti-American executive went to a baseball game in Cuba.  While European nations and security forces within the United States went on high alert, our self-centered executive danced the tango in Argentina.

His ideology gets more transparent every day......

How can this happen in our America?!!-----Ten Miles of AZ Border Unguarded For Two Days

Ten Miles of AZ Border Unguarded For Two Days – DennisMichaelLynch.com:
"Shortage of Border Patrol Agents Puts Nation At Risk
A 10-mile stretch of the Arizona border with Mexico was left unmanned for two days, allowing criminal cartel members to cut a hole in the fence, drive two vehicles into the U.S. and escape, according to the head of the national Border Patrol union.
Brandon Judd, president of the 16,500-member National Border Patrol Council, told Congress that surveillance cameras spotted the two vehicles inside the U.S.
Agents who investigated found tracks indicating the vehicles had entered through the hole.
The cartel members put the fence back up and tried to hide the cuts they made, Judd said.
“The scariest part of those vehicles entering into the United States is we don’t know what was in those vehicles.
We have no idea,” Judd testified Wednesday during a House hearing in Washington, D.C.
Judd said the stretch of border in Arizona was left unmanned because the Border Patrol doesn’t have enough agents.
He said the incident was confirmed in management reports but he did not specify the exact location of the incident. Arizona’s border with Mexico is 372.5 miles long."

If true, this is BIG!!-----Flint ill-prepared for corrosion control at time of water switch

Flint ill-prepared for corrosion control at time of water switch | MLive.com:
FLINT, MI-Even if the state had ordered Flint to use corrosion controls when it switched to the Flint River for the city's drinking water, the city would have been unable to do so because it lacked the necessary equipment.
And installing the equipment would have taken up to six months, Flint Utility Director Mike Glasgow told state lawmakers on Tuesday.
"There was so many different things to look at, so many I's to dot and T's to cross that it was somewhat easy for things to be overlooked or looked past," Glasgow told a special Joint Committee on the Flint Water Public Health Emergency.
Flint Utility Administrator Mike Glasgow discusses the city’s water crisis Tuesday, March 29, with reporters following his testimony in front of Michigan's special Joint Committee on the Flint Water Public Health Emergency.
Glasgow told the committee's lawmakers that the decision to use the river was rushed and the speed of the change could have caused things to be overlooked.
The city switched to the river in April 2014 -- the same month that terms ended for Flint's former drinking water supply from Detroit.
Instead of ordering Flint to use chemicals to treat the more corrosive river water, Glasgow said the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality district engineer directed the city to forgo corrosion controls immediately at the time of the switch and instead wait until two six-month monitoring periods had been conducted.
He added that he relied on the DEQ to make the appropriate decisions in terms of treating the city's water supply.
The Flint Water Advisory Task Force appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder has put the blame for the city's water crisis on the DEQ, saying the agency misinterpreted the federal lead and copper rule that would have required corrosion control on the city's water supply.
"There was and remains no justification for MDEQ not requiring corrosion control treatment for the switch of water source to the Flint River," the task force concluded in its final report.
Glasgow, just eight days prior to the city's use of the Flint River, warned state regulators of a potential disaster on the horizon.
"I have people above me making plans to distribute water ASAP," Laboratory & Water Quality Supervisor Mike Glasgow said in an email to the state Department of Environmental Quality on April 17, 2014.
The email was among more than 20,000 pages of documents related to Flint's water crisis and released Feb. 12 by Gov. Rick Snyder.
"I was reluctant before, but after looking at the monitoring schedule and our current staffing, I do not anticipate giving the OK to begin sending water out anytime soon," Glasgow's email says.
"If water is distributed from this plant in the next couple weeks, it will be against my direction.
"I need time to adequately train additional staff and to update our monitoring plans before I will feel we are ready.
I will reiterate this to management above me, but they seem to have their own agenda."

Cubans handed cash, Social Security card, food stamps, Medicaid at U.S. border

BIENVENIDO: Cubans handed cash, Social Security card, food stamps, Medicaid at U.S. border | Washington Examiner:
"Thousands of Cubans rushing the U.S. border in record numbers are being greeted with a Welcome Wagon operation the provides them with taxpayer-funded benefits including cash, a Social Security card, food stamps, and Medicaid, according to a review of the latest immigration crisis on the border.
During a field trip to the Laredo, Texas crossing point, two experts from the Center for Immigration Studies documented how Cubans are provided with the services free of charge in a storefront operation set up by a Cuban immigrant, who even provides housing and schedules transportation to Miami.
"The door is wide open.
Come and get your free stuff," is how Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies, sized it up.
