Norton Shores student dies in skiing accident - Muskegon Chronicle - MLive.com: "A Michigan Technological University student has died in a skiing accident at Mont Ripley.
The Houghton school says 18-year-old Robert W. Smith of Norton Shores was skiing Friday night when he apparently lost control and hit a tree. The school says he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Smith, an experienced skier, was a mechanical engineering major and 2007 graduate of Mona Shores High School."
