Sir Nicholas Winton who organised the rescue and passage to Britain of about 669 mostly Jewish Czechoslovakian children destined for the Nazi death camps before World War II in an operation known as the Czech Kindertransport. 
This video is the BBC Programme "That's Life" aired in 1988.

In 1939, a 29-yo stockbroker rescued 669 Czechoslovakian children before the Nazi invasion. After the war, he told no one. In 1988, his wife discovered the scrapbook in their attic with all of the children listed. Here is a clip from "That's Life" with Nicholas Winton... (if you have emotions, your eyes may water)
