Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler facing criminal investigation for alleged misuse of charity funds | MLive.com:
"MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler is under criminal investigation for allegedly misusing funds from an account set up years ago to benefit the county's Memorial Charity Golf Outing.
The accusations are detailed in a Michigan State Police report that is under review by Eaton County Prosecutor Douglas R. Lloyd. Lloyd was assigned as the special prosecutor to the case to avoid any conflict of interest in Muskegon County, Lloyd confirmed this week.
Altogether, Roesler is being investigated for making 13 withdrawals over several years totaling $2,290 from the charity golf outing account, according to the police report obtained by MLive Muskegon Chronicle.
At the time of the investigation, Roesler had transferred a total of $1,850 from his personal account into the golf outing account, the report indicated.
Lloyd on Tuesday declined to speak about the specifics of the case, but did confirm he received the Michigan State Police report after it was assigned to him by the Michigan Attorney's General Office."
