San Diego talk radio host Mike Slater hit the streets over the weekend to quiz attendees of the gay pride parade and exposed their ignorance and knee-jerk reaction to conservatives.
Slater played “Which Bigot Said It” with a number people.
His quiz featured a series of quotes defending traditional marriage as participants were to match the statement with photos of Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Mike Huckabee or Rick Santorum.
The quotes Slater used include:
  • “Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time.”
  • “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.”
  • “I think marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman.”
  • “For me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.”
The dozen or so people interviewed were stunned to learn either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton had uttered those declarations in the past.
“I much more prefer Bernie Sanders,” a male-looking person wearing a rainbow-colored tutu said.
“I think if the devil had any humanly form, it would be in the shape of Rick Santorum.”
Slater also asked attendees what percentage of the male population they believed was gay.
He received some of the following answers:
  • 40%
  • 45%
  • 47%
  • 35%
  • 50%
  • 36%
  • 70% (!!)
Citing CDC statistics, Slater stunned his interviewees by telling them in fact, only 1.8% of the male population is gay.
A man wearing a purple Teletubbies costume declared, “Barack Obama is a great president” and that he supports Hillary because “she supports gays.”
He, too, was floored to learn just a few short years ago, the people he supports didn’t support him.
