"As we toast Megyn Kelly on her departure from NBC and sip our Trump Schadenfreude (which tastes like Diet Coke with a slightly stronger New York accent) let us also enjoy watching NBC pay $69 million or so in exit fees to the 21st century's version of Pink Lady and Jeff.


Kelly was a lawyer who joined Fox News as a reporter and worked her way to an anchor post. They promoted her to prime-time. She was doing fine until the first Republican presidential debate in August 2015.

She picked a fight with Donald John Trump. He ate her up and spit her out like a wad of gum. The transcript shows she broke a rule. A lawyer never asks a question in court that she does not know the answer to.

President Trump used three words to annihilate her.

KELLY: Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter. However, that is not without its downsides, in particular, when it comes to women. You’ve called women you don’t like “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”
(LAUGHTER)
TRUMP: Only Rosie O’Donnell.
(LAUGHTER)
The audience was laughing at her. At this point, Kelly should have moved on. Nevertheless, she persisted.
...Thus began their feud.
