"I think we are pretty much done, and by “we”, I mean Western civilization.
It may survive in pockets around the world, but it sure appears we are headed for a Hobbesian world where life is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short.
What took centuries to build from ignorance, barbarity, mysticism, and filth is now headed back into an age of ignorance, barbarity, mysticism, and filth – and in a matter of a few decades.
It’s due to three groups of people – 

• one group that welcomes savagery in the acquisition of power, 
• those who watch and do nothing because they don’t believe descent into madness and violence is possible, and 
• another group that clearly recognizes the fall, but is too small and impotent to take charge...
