Many good folks (like you and me) have long believed that the Democrats were the party of government - mostly because their policies aligned with government expansion and control. I think we have long suspected that when Republicans won in contests against them, the win was a bit of a minor miracle.

And when we lost under circumstances we should have won - like in 2020, here always seemed to be some hidden advantage.

These folks have used the federal government as their own personal piggy bank. They are not just the party of government, they ARE the government.
