A congressman asked Elon Musk at his DOGE congressional testimony whether the team had found evidence that radical left Democrats like Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, and Chuck Schumer had received USAID money directly.  - M.A. Rothman@MichaelARothman
Elon’s answer was more damning than a yes or no. 

He described the mechanism: your tax dollars go to a government agency, which sends them to an NGO — a non-governmental organization. 

Except the NGO is government-funded, so “𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.” Then the kicker. “𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘶𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯 𝘕𝘎𝘖 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘸𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴.” 

The money goes overseas through a chain of NGOs, and Elon said he is “𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵” a substantial portion 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 — landing in the pockets of the very members of Congress who funded USAID in the first place.
