I recently purchased a copy of a print depicting the Battle of Lexington.  Lexington Concord was described by Ralph Waldo Emerson as the, “shot heard ‘round the world.”  The long, agonizing war which would take man out of darkness, giving him control of his future and would secure the blessings of liberty for generations to come, was underway.  The American Revolution had begun but The Declaration of Independence had yet to be penned.

The founders knew that signing their names to the Declaration of Independence was a death sentence.  They recognized tyranny, having lived through the listed grievances.  They understood
that failure would mean death but victory would mean freedom and independence.  Freedom and liberty was worth risking their lives, fortunes and sacred honor.

The king had an interesting definition of treason.  King George III said, “A traitor is everyone who does not agree with me.”

An alleged “campus rape epidemic” facing colleges today is having an unforeseen side effect – it’s bolstering efforts to allow students to carry guns on campuses.

The oft-cited yet unsubstantiated stat that one in five college women will be sexually assaulted or raped has turned into a battle cry of sorts among those who declare these women should have the means to defend themselves with a firearm.

“Lawmakers in 10 states who are pushing bills that would permit the carrying of firearms on campus are hoping that the national spotlight on sexual assault will help them win passage of their measures,”The New York Times reported recently.

A sponsor of a bill in Nevada, Assemblywoman Michele Fiore, told the Times: “If these young, hot little girls on campus have a firearm, I wonder how many men will want to assault them. The sexual assaults that are occurring would go down once these sexual predators get a bullet in their heads.”

"... Obama family’s 2014 Christmas vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii, cost taxpayers $3,672,798 in flight expenses alone. Christmas in Hawaii is an annual tradition for the family and their most recent visit, from December 19, 2014, to January 4, 2015, marked their seventh Hawaiian vacation.
...Costs for the trip to Hawaii, to the West Coast, and to Martha’s Vineyard last year, cost nearly $3 million alone in transportation.
According to the documents, the Obama’s spent 17.8 hours in the air round-trip at $206,337.00 per hour, bringing the total cost to taxpayers to $3,672,798.60.
According to other figures obtained by Judicial Watch over the past three years, Obama Hawaii Christmas vacations have cost taxpayers $15,540,515.10 in transportation expenses alone.
This includes outbound and return flight expenses in 2012 totaling $4,086,355.20.
(The Secret Service provided documents for Obama’s Christmas 2012 trip to Honolulu.
The grand total is $654,599.40 including $409,225.78 in hotels.) 
Flight expenses for the Obamas’ Christmas vacations to Hawaii cost taxpayers $7,781,361.30.
And the Christmas 2014 flight expense of $3,672,798.60.
The average American family spent $4,580 on Christmas in 2014."

"Yahoo News has reported that huge gaps exist in the emails that Hillary Clinton has turned into the congressional committee investigating the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Trey Gowdy said that his committee does not have documentation from the time frame during her trip to Libya after the attack.  Gowdy has the following to say about the missing documentation,

“We have no emails from that day.  In fact we had no emails from that trip. There are huge gaps.”

The activists also testified before Congress and lobbied intensively behind the scenes on these issues.
Between 2000 and 2013, EPA also paid the American Lung Association well over $20 million, and lavished over $180 million on its Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee members, to support agency positions.
Chesapeake energy gave the Sierra Club $26 million to advance its Beyond Coal campaign. Russia gave generously to anti-fracking, climate change and related “green” efforts.....

"An orchestrated campaign promoting a bill to impose a paid sick leave mandate on most Michigan employers has the fingerprints of labor unions and a pollster with direct connections to the Michigan Democratic Party and legislators, and is being aided by a complicit media whose stories play down the potentially costly consequences.
...Michigan Radio did a story that focused on a poll that found a large majority of respondents were in favor of paid sick leave.
However, the poll wasn’t available on the polling firm’s website, Denno Research. 
Instead, it appears to have been released via the far-left website Eclectablog, which is operated by Chris Savage, the current chair of the Washtenaw County Democratic Party.
...A commenter on the Michigan Radio story posted, “Gotta love Michigan Radio … poll shows strong support for free beer and pizza ….. the parasitical leftists never ever quench their thirst for their neighbors money.”
...The story that included the Denno Research poll was nearly 300 words. Yet the story didn’t quote any opponents to the policy and had just this sentence regarding the opposition: “Some opponents say they are against across-the-board mandates, and others argue paid sick leave can hurt job creation....”

"WITH the collapse in global oil prices, members of Congress are once again pushing to raise the federal gasoline tax, with the proceeds going to new roads, bridges and other infrastructure projects. While some in Congress might be averse to a tax increase of any kind, they might find it more palatable if it came packaged with a tax cut.
Fortunately, there is a perfect option, a hidden levy that has benefited a small group of farmers and manufacturers in a handful of states: the corn ethanol tax.
The tax is hidden because, on paper, it appears as a clean-energy mandate. 
Federal law currently requires fuel retailers to blend about 13 billion gallons of corn ethanol per year into the gasoline they sell to the public, making the gas more expensive. 
This year, that mandate, known as the Renewable Fuel Standard, will impose about $10 billion in additional fuel costs on motorists.
...In December 2014, the rack price of a gallon of ethanol was $2.40, while a gallon of unleaded gasoline was $1.73. 
But recall that we need 1.5 gallons of ethanol to match the energy contained in a gallon of gasoline. 
That means you would need to pay about $3.60 to get the same amount of energy as from a gallon of gasoline, making ethanol about twice as expensive."

Although he spent much of his early life overseas, the Leader of the Free World grew up in the Northeast, and graduated from Harvard University.
That he has a deep and abiding love for America is self-evident: he admires our energy, our inventiveness; our decency and kindness; our innate friendliness and charity. 
He loves our culture; he admires our private sector which generates so much innovation. 
And the Leader of the Free World admires and respects our vast military power, and the restraint which it is used – to him, it is indeed the Arsenal of Democracy.
And even though he has grown up the victim of bigotry and hatred, the Leader of the Free World loves America, even though slurs are applied to him still today.
In spite of all that, he loves everything she stands for.

"Darren Wilson has been exonerated, again, in last August’s shooting death of Michael Brown, and that ought to be as much a vindication for the onetime Ferguson, Mo., police officer as it is a teachable moment for the rest of America.
It won’t be.
The story line has failed, so the statistics have been put to work.
That the claims made against Mr. Wilson were doubtful should have been clear within days of Brown’s death, and again in November after a grand jury, having heard from some 60 witnesses, declined to indict the officer—an outcome one outraged commentator denounced as having “openly and shamelessly mocked our criminal justice system and laid bare the inequality of our criminal jurisprudence.”
Yet if anyone was openly and shamelessly mocking the criminal-justice system, it was so much of the media itself, credulously accepting or sanctimoniously promoting the double fable of Ferguson: that a “gentle giant” had been capriciously slain by a trigger-happy cop; and that a racist justice system stood behind that cop.
At least half that fable was put to rest last week by an exhaustive Justice Department report.
It demolishes the lie that Brown was shot in the back, along with the lie that he was surrendering to Mr. Wilson, hands in the air, when he was shot.
It confirms that Brown physically assaulted the officer, who had good grounds to fear for his life.
And it confirms that eyewitnesses either lied to investigators or refused to be interviewed out of fear of local vigilantes.
“Witness 109 claimed to have witnessed the shooting, stated that it was justified, and repeatedly refused to give formal statements to law enforcement for fear of reprisal should the Canfield Drive neighborhood find out that his account corroborated Wilson.”
Witness 113 “gave an account that generally corroborated Wilson, but only after she was confronted with statements she initially made in an effort to avoid neighborhood backlash. . . . She explained to the FBI that ‘You’ve gotta live the life to know it,’ and stated that she feared offering an account contrary to the narrative reported by the media that Brown held his hands up in surrender.”
Now there’s a story for the media:
A community in which honest people can’t tell the truth for fear of running afoul local thugs enforcing “the narrative reported by the media.”
Or is that more of a story about the media...?

The Quinnipiac University poll, released Monday, revealed that Fox News’ coverage is trusted “the most” by 29 percent of respondents, more than NBC News, ABC News, MSNBC, or CNN. Only 7 percent of respondents said MSNBC, less than any other of the aforementioned news outlets."
