Senators Ask Gov’t How Many Illegals Got Social Security — The Number Is Almost Unbelievable | TheBlaze.com

Senators Ask Gov’t How Many Illegals Got Social Security — The Number Is Almost Unbelievable | TheBlaze.com:

"The Social Security Administration has told Congress that more than half a million illegal immigrants have received new Social Security numbers, under President Barack Obama’s 2012 executive action allowing younger immigrants to stay in the United States and work.

Obama imposed his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals plan, also known as DACA, in 2012, and in doing so gave younger illegal immigrants legal protection and the ability to work. More than 600,000 immigrants have applied under the program, and in March, Sens. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) and Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) asked how many of these immigrants also received Social Security numbers."

Bag ban in New Hampshire has its foot in the door

Bag ban in New Hampshire has its foot in the door - Watchdog.org
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Portsmouth doesn’t just have a committee on sustainable practices; it has a blue ribbon committee on sustainable practices.
To distinguish itself from imposter committees or committees with no ribbons, it has announced its intent to bring an ordinance before the city council:
The ordinance is being proposed by City Councilor Brad Lown who said it’s aimed at discouraging retailers and city residents from using single-use plastic bags.
The ordinance would effectively ban the use of single-use plastic bags in some city businesses or fine companies who use them.
Portsmouth city council members want to selectively discourage with an ordinance to effectively ban some bags at some businesses.
This is what we call “foot in the door” language.
It has exclusions that make the big box stores the target of the ban.
This strategy will keep the local shop-keepers from storming committee meetings.
If citizens only see opposition from large retailers and plastics industry advocates, on what passes for municipal must-see TV, the masses will remain silent and a city council pre-disposed to passing busy-body-language ordinances will enact this.
Read it all and see how you are scammed by these eco-nazis.

With Student Loans Equal to All Income Tax Collection, 27% are in Defaults

With Student Loans Equal to All Income Tax Collection, 27% are in Defaults:
"On April 15, Tax Day, Americans have paid the federal government an estimated $1.477 trillion–a slightly higher figure than the total value of outstanding student loans.
Five days ago, the St. Louis Federal Reserve published a report titled “Student Loan Delinquency: A Big Problem Getting Worse?”
The Fed determined that of the nearly $1.3 trillion in non-bankruptcy-dischargeable student loans, the delinquency rate for students in repayment is over 27 percent.
With tuition at the University of California and other top schools growing faster than inflation, student loan defaults are skyrocketing.
...But when the Fed researchers Juan M. Sánchez and Lijing Zhuthe Fed dug deeper, they determined that for student loans made from October to December 2010, about 45 percent of student loans were not in repayment.
This implied that only about 55 percent of student loans for the period are in repayment...."

Dude, where's my deduction?----Tax Day is source of unhappiness for marijuana industry

WASHINGTON: Tax Day is source of unhappiness for marijuana industry | Economy | McClatchy DC:
"WASHINGTON — For owners of marijuana businesses, April 15 is one big downer.
While most business owners rush to meet the federal tax deadline and cash in on a plethora of deductions, pot store owners and growers complain that they can’t write off a single expense, even if they have state licenses.
They want the law changed, saying it’s discriminatory and outdated as more states move to legalize marijuana.
...The ban on deductions by the Internal Revenue Service is in place for one reason: Congress has declared every pot transaction a felony crime.
Getting the law changed will be difficult, with legalization opponents arguing that it would be a mistake to give the pot industry any tax breaks."

City leaders chase Muskegon Bike Time out of town!

Muskegon Bike Time - News and Updates:
"...8 years of planning, organizing and funding Steel Horse Alley, the City of Muskegon has chosen to re-classify the 2015 Muskegon Bike Time as a different event, subject to new rules and policies.
Two years ago, the Muskegon City Commission had concerns about the growth of Bike Time and strongly suggested that we develop plans for the event beyond the downtown location.
The Commission predicted that downtown space would diminish as the properties were sold and developed.
In response to their desires, this year we announced a plan that permits growth, by expanding the event to the former Great Lakes Downs property just outside of Muskegon and owned by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians.
Under this new ruling by the City of Muskegon, which allows for “others to hold events and supply the vendors,” it seems the City wants to define programming for Bike Time.
The new ruling creates an untenable liability risk, where Muskegon Bike Time would be responsible for creating the space for other events and vendors to operate, but we could be held liable for safety issues that remain beyond our control.
Under these circumstances we cannot, in good conscience as a nonprofit, responsibly accept this liability.
Therefore, unfortunately Muskegon Bike Time will not be creating Steel Horse Alley on Western Avenue in 2015...
In the interest of complete transparency please see our letter to the City of Muskegon in the link below."

“Are you asking me this because I have blonde hair?” one woman asked."
