Don't Be Fooled by the Media; This Isn't About Trump

Don't Be Fooled by the Media; This Isn't About Trump | CNS News:
"... In supporting Trump, people are rebelling against political correctness and the refusal of the political class to control our borders.
People are also tired of leftists controlling the narrative and bullying conservatives into silence.
They see Trump as a refreshing figure who is unafraid to fight back.
That doesn't mean they agree with everything he says.
...There is nothing crazy about believing that a sovereign nation ought to control its borders.
There is nothing crazy in insisting that immigration occur through the proper legal channels, which include learning about our uniquely glorious heritage and endorsing the American idea.
Any non-suicidal nation would require these at a minimum.
The federal government's deliberate sabotaging of border control is what is outright nuts.
...Instead of faux fretting over Trump, could we please stay focused on:

  •  Obama's disgraceful nuclear deal with Iran, his attempted end run around Congress by taking it to the United Nations first and his stunning indifference to freeing $150 billion to the diabolical Iranian regime to fund global terrorism?

While we are all scrambling to castigate Trump to prove our moral bona fides,

  • we are ignoring that the federal government subsidizes Planned Parenthood and the group's harvesting of human organs.
  • We are overlooking Obama's pernicious plan for the federal government to amass shockingly detailed information about U.S. citizens for collection in racial databases that will be used to stir up racial discord in the name of "diversity" when Obama leaves office.
  • We are allowing Obama to get away, once again, with refusing to identify the murderer of U.S. service members as a Muslim terrorist.

...If Ronald Reagan were alive today, he and his supporters would be considered crazies and extremists.
Meanwhile, the people who are truly doing crazy stuff have become the new normal.
The ordinarily unflappable traditionalist, America-loving citizens have had it with being vilified and muzzled while real craziness is elevated to normal.
They appreciate Trump's outspokenness in the midst of such widespread cowardice and surrender on our side — even if they don't approve of all his comments..."

Texas!!-----Strictest And Most Lenient States on Speeding and Reckless Driving

Strictest And Most Lenient States on Speeding and Reckless Driving | WalletHub®:

51TexasT - 45T - 50
  • Three quarters of the states have “absolute” speed limits, which means that exceeding the limit is enough evidence for a conviction. But about 25 percent of the states leave room for interpretation with “prima facie” laws — or a “mixed” combination of absolute and prima facie rules — allowing speeders to argue in court that their speed was in fact reasonable.
  • None of the states has mandatory jail time for speeding. However, reckless drivers should expect, on average, to spend at least one day in jail for their first offense and four days for their second offense.
  • In most states drivers are subject to license suspension under a point system. Your first offense might not get your license suspended, but enough accumulation of points will. On average, point penalties for speeding will get you 27 percent closer to a suspension.
  • The average maximum cost of a ticket for reckless driving is $742, with the lowest being $100 (in Kentucky, Mississippi and New Mexico) and the highest at approximately $5,000 (Washington).
  • Almost half (49 percent) of states do not automatically cite drivers for reckless driving based on a specific speed threshold or a specific number of mph over the limit.
  • Nearly a third (29 percent) of states use speed cameras to automatically catch and fine speeding drivers.

Student Visas from Muslim Countries on the Rise

Student Visas from Muslim Countries on the Rise | Conservative Review
How many more potential Islamic terrorists like Mohammad Youssef Adbulazeer are living freely in this country?
And to what extent is our political class going to continue their suicidal policies?
Several months ago, we estimated that roughly 1.62 million individuals from predominantly Muslim countries have emigrated here since 9/11.
We counted all of the green cards issued to foreign nationals of 43 countries with either near-100% Muslim population or an overwhelming majority of Muslims.
While some of these individuals are likely non-Muslims, we noted that it is a pretty fair estimate of the number of Muslim immigrants and coincides with the Pew estimate of 100,000 Muslim immigrants per year.
14% of the annual student visas are from Muslim countries, an even higher share than immigrant visas relative to the total immigrant population.
A quick search and tally of the data at the IIE for the same 43 predominantly Muslim countries reveals that 127,332 student visas were granted to students from these same countries.
Our government does this every year and the trend is only growing.
That means that 14% of the annual student visas are from Muslim countries, an even higher share than immigrant visas relative to the total immigrant population.
Student Visas from Country of Origin
By far, the largest number of visas come from Saudi Arabia (remember 9/11?), topping out at 53,919 for the last academic year.
As we noted last year, the Saudi government has unlimited funds to pay for their international students, and with no caps on F1 visas, they could theoretically send hundreds of thousands of students here every year.
Iran has sent us over 10,000 foreign students as well.
What could go wrong?..."

The White House’s One-Word Answer to TheBlaze’s Inquiry on Future Federal Funding for Planned Parenthood | TheBlaze.com:

"As Congress and at least five states move forward on investigating allegations that Planned Parenthood is harvesting and selling fetal body parts, the Obama administration will not reconsider its support of federal funding for the nation’s largest abortion provider, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Monday.

TheBlaze asked White House press secretary Josh Earnest if in light of the investigations prompted by an undercover video, the administration might reconsider federal funding."

Feds fail to enforce law so they want new law-----Dem senators call for executive action on gun control

Dem senators call for executive action on gun control | TheHill:
"Connecticut Sens. Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal, both Democrats, have called on President Obama to take executive action to close a “loophole” in federal gun control legislation.
The so-called “default to proceed” rule under the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act allows firearm dealers to sell a weapon to an individual if they have not been notified by the FBI of a buyer’s criminal background within three business days.
If the background check has not been completed within three days, the dealer has discretion to sell the firearm.
...“If we refuse to act, we're just biding time until this happens again."
The criminal background check on Roof was not initiated until two days after Roof first attempted to purchase the gun and did not discover his admission of drug possession until five days later.
FBI Director James Comey told reporters Friday that Roof “should not have been allowed to purchase the gun he allegedly used that evening,” referring to the deadly June 17 attack.
Republicans, however, blame the failure to bar Roof from obtaining a gun on “bureaucratic bungling” and say additional regulation is not necessary.
“It’s disastrous that this bureaucratic mistake prevented existing laws from working and blocking an illegal gun sale.
The facts undercut attempts to use the tragedy to enact unnecessary gun laws,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said in a statement.
An FBI examiner faxed a request for information on Roof’s arrest to the wrong county’s sheriff’s office.
Comey has announced a 30-day investigation into the matter."

Home-care workers find getting out harder than getting in union

Home-care workers find getting out harder than getting in union - Watchdog.org:
"Renee Katz has one question for the Service Employees International Union:
What part of “no” don’t you understand?
“I can’t get out of it.
They want me to now do some letter and certify mail it.
They didn’t certify mail anything to me.
And then every time I call or email, they try to talk me into staying,” said Katz.
The Oakdale mother works part-time as a personal care assistant for her special needs daughter and other care recipients through subsidized programs designed to avoid institutionalized care.
She was outraged to learn 3 percent of their gross wages would be taken for dues for a union she didn’t realized she joined.
Her hard-line response stands out because Katz comes from a pro-union family.
“We’re a huge union family.
My husband’s union is wonderful,” Katz said.
 “… It’s not that I don’t believe in unions.
It’s just not right for me.
I don’t want to be part of the union,
I don’t need it.”"

McDonalds + minimum wage hike = We told you!

McDonalds + minimum wage hike = We told you!:
"The left has been pushing a minimum wage increase, mainly because telling voters “we’re going to give you more money” is easier than teaching them about economics and/or reality.
If a leftist wants to be particularly panderific, they specify a wage hike on fast food workers, with McDonalds as their most popular whipping post.
McDonaldsThe same McDonalds which just announced their WORST financial outlook in 12 years.
Some 29 franchisees, who collectively own and operate 208 McDonald’s restaurants in the United States, were asked to give their six-month forecast from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent).
The average response was 1.69, the lowest in the survey’s 12-year history.
Previously, the lowest rating was 1.81, which was recorded three months ago.
One of the reasons?
Another respondent said, “At least half of the operators in my region are on [the] verge of collapse.
With minimum wage for fast food workers potentially increasing to incredibly high levels, we are facing a crisis situation.”"

Obama’s Newest Gun Control Scheme Involves Social Security Benefits | TheBlaze.com:

"The Obama administration has taken action to tie gun ownership with Social Security benefits, expanding background checks for firearms owners.

Obama was unable to push through stricter background check laws for gun buyers through Congress in 2013, but through executive action, the Social Security Administration could threaten to cut off benefits by adding millions of people to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the Los Angeles Times reported."

Study: Uber is twice as fast as taxi service and half the price | Washington Examiner:
"Uber is twice as fast as taxi service and about half the cost of a regular taxi, according to a new study of the company's ride-sharing app conducted in Los Angeles.
The average UberX ride took just under 7 minutes to arrive, versus over 17 minutes for a taxi requested by phone.
For the same rides, the average UberX trip cost $6.40, while the cost of using the taxi was $14.63, including tip.
UberX gets people rides through private people driving their own cars, instead of professional drivers."

Kerry: Trust Me, Iran Can’t Use Unfrozen $150 Billion For Terror Operations–The UN Resolution Says So

Kerry: Trust Me, Iran Can’t Use Unfrozen $150 Billion For Terror Operations–The UN Resolution Says So - Matt Vespa:
"UPDATE: Katie wrote today that National Security Adviser Susan Rice admitted that some of that money will be spent on "bad behavior."
You know, like terrorism and such.

...First, let’s rehash what Iran got with this agreement:

  • It (almost immediately) pumps more than $100 billion into the regime's economy, providing Tehran with desperately-needed resources to step up its habitual terrorism abetment and toxic regional meddling.
  • It eschews the sort of solid anytime/anywhere snap inspections regime proponents of the deal promised repeatedly.
  • It permits Iran to maintain its infamous underground nuclear facility -- long seen as an emblem of Iranian lawlessness and non-compliance.
  • It allows Tehran to press forward with research and development on advanced-level centrifuges. Astonishingly, it caves to Iran's preposterous 11th-hour demands by accommodating the lifting of both the UN arms embargo and sanctions against the regime's illegal ballistic missile program -- issues that were allegedly off the table for Western negotiators..
  • It guarantees that even if Iran were to abandon its incurable habit of cheating and lying by fully complying with the agreement, the country would emerge as a threshold nuclear-armed state in just over a decade.

Now, as for the unfrozen $150 billion that will go to Iran, Secretary Kerry assures us that Iran will keep its word and not use the money to fund Shiite militias in neighboring countries, or fund Hezbollah because the deal says so.
As Kerry told Judy Woodruff of PBS News Hour, “they’re not allowed to do that.
They’re not allowed to do that outside even with this agreement.
There’s a UN resolution that specifically applies to them not being allowed to transfer to Hezbollah. They are specifically not allowed under another UN resolution to transfer to the Shi’a militia in Iraq.”
Yeah, I’m not sleeping any better with these remarks (are you kidding me, Kerry?).
I’m not one to be all doom and gloom, but who expects the Iranians to actually honor any of these agreements?
I mean, how is that even a serious subject of conversation.
Like North Korea, UN resolutions and arms negotiations fared poorly.
The North Koreans did get the bomb.
They did circumvent the Agreed Framework by having a covert uranium enrichment program that was exposed by the CIA in 2002, and the geopolitical situation in Asia..."

White lives matter..... NOT!-----Black 18 Year Old Charged In Brutal Stabbing Murder Of Army Veteran

Black 18 Year Old Charged In Brutal Stabbing Murder Of Army Veteran - Allen West Republic: "Erico Montalvo, of 10 Pocasset Ave., wore no expression as he was led handcuffed into District Court early Friday morning to face the charges. The timing, coincidentally, was just before the funeral Mass for 26-year-old Colby Mendonca of Pawtucket.
Mendonca and his friend, Russell Gleason, 25, were in the parking lot behind the Walgreens at 533 Elmwood Ave. just before 2 a.m. when they got into an argument with strangers, according to police.
The argument became a fight that left Gleason badly injured and Mendonca dead.
Special Assistant Attorney General Meg McDonough told Magistrate Joseph Ippolito that Montalvo admitted to Providence investigators that he’d been at the scene and had stabbed both men.
Montalvo was charged with murder and assault with a dangerous weapon, both felonies..."

Teach the children well.....Univ. of Wisconsin professor says Hitler, Scott Walker share ‘terrifying’ similarities

Univ. of Wisconsin professor says Hitler, Scott Walker share ‘terrifying’ similarities - The College Fix:
University of Wisconsin sociology Professor Sara Goldrick-Rab claims there are “terrifying” psychological similarities between Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Nazi leader and mass murderer Adolf Hitler.
In a July 1 tweet, Goldrick-Rab said:
“My grandfather, a psychologist, just walked me through similarities between Walker and Hitler. There are so many-it’s terrifying.”
The extreme comparisons didn’t stop there.
A day later, Professor Goldrick-Rap tweeted:
“No doubt about it-Walker and many Wisconsin Legislators are fascists. Period. They proved it today. #SHAME.”
...Recently Goldrick-Rab also targeted the Wisconsin budget as an attack on education and tenure, tweeting she “spent more than 20 years working for & honoring the tenure I earned.
Walker just robbed me of it.
He robbed Wisconsin.
It’s unforgivable.”

Here's what 'check your privilege' really means

Here's what 'check your privilege' really means - The College Fix:
"Gary Galles, an economics professor at Pepperdine University, offers an insightful piece for the Mises Institute that dissects the term “check your privilege” – and what it really means.
He begins by giving the phrase’s users the benefit of the doubt.
“It could be an invitation to debate,” Galles notes.
“In a sense, ‘check your privilege’ largely amounts to ‘check your premises’ behind your views, and many are willing to recognize that such a reminder can be useful in advancing conversations about social issues.
...But the Phrase Could Simply Mean ‘Shut Up’
And when does “check your privilege” become code for “be quiet” rather than “evaluate your premises”?
“Check your privilege” is about shutting down discussion when the user is making the assertion that you are hopelessly confused in your understanding, and that your opinions amount to aggression (whether “micro-” or “macro-”). …
In other words, others assert that they don’t need to listen to you, much less respect your arguments.
… when “check your privilege” is used as a magic phrase to peremptorily end “social justice” discussions, it is the assertion of a special privilege for some to be allowed to define themselves as white hats and those who disagree as black hats, without ever having to make a real argument.
It also allows users to turn it into an epithet of social demonization to try to impose their “solutions,” always at the expense of the supposed black hats.
In the process, it undermines social cooperation by undermining the rights upon which it is built.
And that, unfortunately, is how it is most often used by social justice warriors on campus today.

A&P Files For Chapter 22——A Cautionary Tale In The Demise Of The Nation’s First Supermarket Chain

A&P Files For Chapter 22——A Cautionary Tale In The Demise Of The Nation’s First Supermarket Chain | David Stockman's Contra Corner:
"Back in December 2010, we were “stunned” when we learned that in a what was a clear case of a supermarket chain unable to pass through costs to consumers, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Company (“Great Atlantic”, “A&P” or the “Debtors”), which in 1936 became the first national supermarket chain in the US, would file for bankruptcy adding that “it is ironic that instead of passing through costs supermarkets are instead opting out to default”.
Although perhaps even back then it was clear to A&P that the capacity of US consumer to shoulder higher prices is far worse than what the mainstream media would lead everyone to believe.
Fast forward to last night, when less than five years after its first Chapter 11 filing (and three years after emerging from a bankruptcy in March 2012 as a privately-held company part owned by Ron Burkle’s Yucaipa with a clean balance sheet including $490 million in new debt and equity financing), overnight Great Atlantic, which controls such supermarket brand names as A&P, Waldbaum’s, SuperFresh, Pathmark, Food Basics, The Food Emporium, Best Cellars, and A&P Liquors – filed for repeat bankruptcy, or as it is better known in restructuring folklore, Chapter 22.
So what happened in the intervening 5 years that caused the company which employes 28,500 workers (93% of whom are members of one of twelve local unions and who are employed by A&P under some 35 separate collective bargaining agreements) to deteriorate so badly that it burned through all of its post (first) petition cash and redefault?
In one word: unions."

Jean Jacques, Haitian immigrant accused in Norwich, Connecticut killing, was spared deportation after prior violent felony

Jean Jacques, Haitian immigrant accused in Norwich, Connecticut killing, was spared deportation after prior violent felony - CBS News:
"NEW LONDON, Conn. -- A Haitian immigrant who was released from prison in January after serving a 17-year prison sentence for attempted murder is back in custody on a murder charge in the death of a Connecticut woman last month.
The Bulletin reports that Jean Jacques's prison file was marked "Detainer: Immigration" and that Connecticut officials say he was released in January to the custody of the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), but was never deported.
ICE spokesman Shawn Neudauer tells the newspaper the law prohibits him from discussing Jacques' case.
On Monday, the 40-year-old Jacques was in a Connecticut court to answer to murder and drug charges, stemming from the June 15 stabbing death of Casey Chadwick in Norwich, the city where Jacques lived before he went to prison.
The 25-year-old woman's body was found stuffed in a closet.
According to the Bulletin, in January 2014, Connecticut made history by becoming the first state to enact legislation that prohibited law enforcement agencies from holding people simply because they had a civil immigration detainer put on them..."
