As reported earlier this week, the FBI probe of Democrat presidential frontrunner and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over her use of a private email server has expanded. Today, the FBI is further expanding its investigation by putting Clinton under the microscope for potentially violating a federal false statements statute, a felony offense. More from Fox News: 

The FBI has expanded its probe of Hillary Clinton's emails, with agents exploring whether multiple statements violate a federal false statements statute, according to intelligence sources familiar with the ongoing case.

Fox News is told agents are looking at U.S. Code 18, Section 1001, whichpertains to "materially false" statements given either in writing, orally or through a third party. Violations also include pressuring a third party to conspire in a cover-up. Each felony violation is subject to five years in prison.

"The agents involved are under a lot of pressure and are busting a--," an intelligence source, who was not authorized to speak on the record, told Fox News.

The section of the criminal code being explored is known as "statements or entries generally," and can be applied when an individual makes misleading or false statements causing federal agents to expend additional resources and time.

A staple among the more “reasonable” gun control advocates in America is the voluntary gun turn-in or buy-back program.
Hillary Clinton has recently gone on record as a big supporter of these programs, whether they be optional or… not so optional, like in Australia.
If you had any doubt about the effectiveness of such plans, the folks in Greensboro, North Carolina were out to prove you wrong this month.
They held just such an event where they would accept any number of weapons, getting them off the streets and presumably out of the hands of criminals.
...So how did that turn out?
If you read the coverage from this Time Warner Cable News Network report it was a smashing success.
Almost 1,000 people turned out and it was a glorious day to get guns off the streets.
Almost 1000 people took “A Pledge of Non-Violence” Saturday at Destiny Christian Center in Greensboro.
So that’s a big win all the way around, right?
...Police-community partnerships are a positive measure to increase public safety, but good intentions aren’t the same thing as a good (or effective) plan.
A report by Time-Warner Cable News tried to put a positive spin on things by noting that “almost 1,000 people” responded to take the pledge, leading one to believe that 1,000 firearms had been turned in, but this was hardly the case. 
As evidenced by the footage accompanying the story, the gun turn-in apparently resulted in a single BB pistol and a single sheathed hunting knife being “taken off the streets...”

There are nearly 13 million concealed carry permit holders in the United States who are part of the 100 million gun owners who defend the Constitutional right to “keep and bear arms.” This fundamental liberty is held closest by those who have gone through the process of vetting required to be entrusted with the ability to defend themselves, their families and their property with concealed weapons.

The concept of concealed carry is as much intended to deter criminal activity as it is to provide direct defense of those who have those permits. Not all concealed carry permit holders “carry” all the time. Thus, the deterrent value is that those who might contemplate criminal behavior will think twice when that doubt exists.

Carrying a weapon is not always feasible or appropriate. However, given the increased tensions that are the result of continued, escalating terrorism around the world, more legitimately armed individuals on the streets is a positive outcome. Each permit holder must make the decision to carry or not carry. I will carry more often than I have in the past, and I am sure other concealed permit holders will do the same. Do we have an obligation to carry? The answer is “yes,” but we must do it in such a way as to raise serious doubts in the minds of those who might be considering violence in America. Deterring violence is far better than dealing with the aftermath of an act of terror. Less blood, more security. That is what will make America great again.

Ethan Hall is only 7 years old, but he knows that the show must go on.
Even when you get a pesky bout of the hiccups at the least opportune time.
Young Ethan sang the Australian national anthem during a baseball game between Brisbane and his hometown of Adelaide Friday night.
The performance was Ethan's professional league debut, Andrew Reynolds, the Digital Media Manager for the Australian Baseball League told ABC.
On the way to the stadium, Ethan came down with a case of the hiccups he just couldn't shake.

"He plays baseball himself, but it was his first time at a professional baseball game," Reynolds said in an email.
Ethan took a few deep breaths as he prepared to sing, but not even five seconds into the song his hiccups got in the way.
He didn't give up, though, powering through more than a dozen hiccups and garnering the respect of the crowd and the commentators.
"What a lot of courage from the youngster. I mean, he could have completely fallen apart," said one announcer as Ethan exited the pitch to high fives from the players.
Though Ethan won spectators over with that first performance, the ABL said he deserved a chance to show how impressive he can be when unhindered by hiccups.
"His return to sing the anthem is already being planned," Reynolds said. "He'll get his shot at redemption very very soon."
