"There is so much history and there are so many talented, committed people and organizations carrying on that legacy in Detroit today."

Faith in an ideology based on a desire for power over others and the need to feel personally superior without any legitimate accomplishment is perhaps the most dangerous state of being an individual or society can adopt.
 I would refer to such a mindset as “zealotry,” an integral element of cultism and an extreme result of the elitist side of faith.
Zealotry and cultism are not limited to the realm of the religious.
Zealotry is a clever devil hiding in the woodwork of any political or academic construct, and this includes the scientific community when it strays away from empirical logic and honest data into a world of pseudoscience and social engineering.
I cannot think of a better example of zealotry feeding scientific cultism than the highly propagandized climate change/global warming movement.
Anthropogenic (man-made) global warming is quickly becoming the overarching rationale for almost every policy toward global centralization, as well as a scapegoat for nearly every major crisis from mass shootings and the rise of ISIS to geopolitical shifts in economic structures.
Global warming has been projected as a magical force deviously underlying everything.
It is presented by climate scientists and activists as an all-encompassing behemoth of cause and effect, yet nearly all of this frantic propaganda is supported by faith, rather than hard data.
The issue is one of transparency. 
Without transparency of experimental data, climate scientists and think tank operatives become immune to examination.
That is to say, if climate scientists and organizations, many of which are funded by public tax dollars, are not required to reveal the raw data behind their claims on global warming, then their claims are no longer a matter of “fact” or scientific process..."

"On December 7, a man and woman pulled their self-defense handguns and stopped an attack in which a knife-welding man had allegedly knocked down a 90-year-old suspect and “was trying to stab” him.
The incident occurred in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
According to Fox 5, The woman–Karen Duncan–heard the 90-year-old gentleman screaming for help so she grabbed her gun out of her purse and came running. 
When neighbor Ron Childress saw Duncan running “in a panic” he grabbed his gun and ran to the house too.
Duncan was already inside, where she allegedly saw “blood and a big old knife” in the hand a man who was on top of the 90-year-old gentleman. 
She told him to stop and he ignored her so she changed her tactic and told him stop because she was “getting ready to shoot [him].” 
He cooperated at that point.
Childress then entered the room with his gun drawn and told the suspect to lie down flat on the floor with his legs and arms spread, Childress continued to hold the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.
Childress–who is former law enforcement–said he believes the 90-year-old gentleman would not be alive if Duncan had not been armed and willing to come to the rescue. 
He said, “You cannot protect everybody, police can’t do it, they’re good after the fact, but they’re no good to you when it happens generally. 
They’re not going to be there so you need to be ready to protect yourself and what happened [with the -old man] is a perfect example of how a citizen can protect other citizens.”"

In October, he put the average 2015 price of razing a home at $16,400.

Duggan’s predecessor, Dave Bing, told Reuters prices remain too high. “The cost shouldn’t have gone up that much,” he said, noting that the price averaged as low as $8,500 per structure during his term between 2009 and 2013.

For the second time this season, the Veterans Administration has marginalized the religious beliefs of its workers.
Vietnam veteran Ethel Holloway has been hanging secular Christmas decorations in the 1C unit of the Audie Murphy VA hospital in San Antonio for 33 years she says, and paid for them with her own money.
They included Santa and his sleigh with the words “Merry Christmas,” as well as the words “be merry.”
Last Friday, she says she was confronted by administrators and told some found the decorations “offensive,” so they were take down and thrown away.
“They ruined our decorations. They threw them out,” Holloway tells KCEN.
Only Santa and the reindeer survived, but the accompanying words weren’t so fortunate.
“They have Santa and the sleigh but ‘Merry Christmas’ is gone,” according to Holloway.
Another decoration, which included the words “be merry,” lost it’s meaning when administrators ripped “merry” off the wall.
Grace Martinez helped Holloway and her husband put the decorations up for the hospitalized veterans to enjoy.
“They literally took pieces from the middle of a whole train set, because the middle said ‘Merry Christmas,’ and the caboose and the engine were okay, so they left those two and took out the middle part,” Martinez tells the news station..."
