Debbie Wasserman Schultz calls for investigation into Trump — it immediately blows up in her face – TheBlaze:

"Many found Wasserman Schultz’s call for an investigation into Trump’s administration sort of ironic. After all, Wasserman Schultz herself was found to be behind an alleged conspiracy that rigged last year’s Democratic presidential primary to ensure that Hillary Clinton became the DNC’s nominee."

GMU Admissions Director Calls Conservatives ‘Pieces of Worthless Trash’ | MRCTV

EXCLUSIVE: GMU Admissions Director Calls Conservatives ‘Pieces of Worthless Trash’ | MRCTV
"While the president of George Mason University was busy issuing a statement upholding the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, the senior admissions director at the public university made it clear he believes that, if you are a conservative, you are a “piece of worthless trash.”
On his public Facebook page, GMU's Senior Assistant Director of Admissions Andrew Bunting claimed he is fearful of Donald Trump’s presidency because the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), a group that believes in traditional marriage, said it is hopeful for Trump’s presidency.
Bunting stated NOM’s views are “not representative of the key pillars of American society.”
He then added, “If you agree with them then that is your opinion. Just know that to the rest of us, you are a piece of worthless trash”:
Bunting has made multiple comments on the presidential election on his Facebook page, including claiming Trump winning made him wake up in a “less safe world”:
As an admissions counselor at GMU, Bunting claims he is in charge of making admissions decisions.
He also publicly represents the university to prospective students, their families, and high school counselors.
Bunting has also called for collecting data on sexuality for admissions..."

Politico 2009: Obama to 'Replace' Bush U.S. Attorneys/Politico 2017: Trump to 'Oust' Obama Appointees - Breitbart

Politico 2009: Obama to 'Replace' Bush U.S. Attorneys/Politico 2017: Trump to 'Oust' Obama Appointees - Breitbart:

"But Politico was not nearly as antagonistic about presidents replacing a past chief executive’s U.S. attorneys back in 2009 when Barack Obama did the same thing Trump just did.

In 2009, Politico’s article on Obama’s decision to begin firing Bush-era attorneys was blandly entitled, “Obama to replace U.S. Attorneys.” Noticeably missing was the negative “oust” thrown atTrump. Instead, a milder “replace” was used to describe Obama’s actions."

South Africa's government to allow a domestic trade and limited export of rhino horns

News from The Associated Press:
"JOHANNESBURG (AP) -- South Africa's government is moving ahead with plans to allow a domestic trade and limited export of rhino horns, alarming many international conservationists who believe rhinos will be more vulnerable to poachers after a record slaughter in the past decade.
Draft regulations would allow a foreigner with permits to export "for personal purposes" a maximum of two rhino horns.
Critics argue that any exported horns would be hard to monitor and likely would end up on the commercial market, defying global agreements to protect threatened rhino populations.
...But Allison Thomson, a South African campaigner against legalization, said putting rhino horns on the market would increase demand and that South Africa is sending "conflicting messages" about how to deal with poaching, jeopardizing its lucrative wildlife tourism.
"The risk we run at the moment is that if we open up trade and poaching escalates we will have no rhinos in the wild. We will only have rhinos on farms, being farmed like cows," Thomson said..."

Do Apes Deserve 'Personhood' Rights? Lawyer Heads to N.Y. Supreme Court to Make Case - NBC News:
Image result for king kong"When Steve Wise first started out as an animal rights lawyer, people used to bark at him when he entered a courtroom.
For more than 25 years, Wise has been arguing that animals who have cognitive complexities similar to humans should be legally endowed with basic rights of autonomy.
Now when he enters a courtroom, no one is barking.
On Thursday, Wise — who founded the Nonhuman Rights Project on behalf of the great apes, cetaceans and elephants — will go before the appellate division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York in Manhattan and argue that two of his clients, chimpanzees Kiko and Tommy, should be afforded the rights of "personhood."
"'Personhood' is not synonymous with 'humans.' It is not now and never has been," Wise told NBC News. "A 'person' is the law's way of saying that entity has the capacity for rights. A 'thing,' which chimpanzees are now, don't have capacity for any kind of rights."..."

NOT SATIRE: University Holding 'Nap-Ins' So Students Can Dream Of Diversity | Daily Wire:

"According to Amposta, the nap sessions will “internally generate student dreams of diversity."

“The nap-ins are part of the internal journey to diversity,” she added. “All dreams start while sleeping.”

The "interactive art installation" will welcome students writing their dreams on pieces of fabric, which will be hung from scrolls in the middle of the library.

"A labyrinth will also be set up in the rotunda surrounding the scroll to 'help guide students to their dreams,'" Amposta told the school paper. "

Fans wearing red, white, and blue at HS basketball game called 'offensive' - The College Fix

Fans wearing red, white, and blue at HS basketball game called 'offensive' - The College Fix:
"Here we go again: It is “controversial” that some spectators wore USA colors at an Iowa state high school basketball tournament game on Wednesday evening.
Fans of Des Moines North High School took issue with supporters of Valley High for their choice of attire.
Valley’s school colors are black and orange, but many in the stands had decided to wear the traditional colors of the USA.
“A lot of people were very upset about it,” North sophomore DeNasja Spencer said, as reported by KCCI.
“Even if that was their theme for the game, I feel like they should have switched that because everyone knows North is a more diverse school.”
But those from Valley say the USA-theme is nothing new — the school has done it “many times in the past” according to one student.
...Student leaders from Valley ended up hand-delivering an apology to North’s principal:
It has been brought to our attention that the decision by the Valley High School student section to wear U.S.A. apparel at our game last night was offensive to members of your community and fan base.
We are deeply sorry if we have offended anyone in any way. ..

We've turned our public school system into liberal madrasas-----Logic grenades left these PC college kids stunned by how that Constitution thingy works

Logic grenades left these PC college kids stunned by how that Constitution thingy works:
Does religious liberty apply to every faith and belief system or just the ones deemed ‘okay’ by liberal elites?
A recent video from Alliance Defending Freedom highlights the First Amendment views of college students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The students were asked about the conscience and property rights of fashion designers and Muslim singers, but — time after time — completely contradicted themselves when it came to protecting the same freedoms for Christian bakers and florists.
Furthermore, the information that a local ordinance meant to force Christians to violate their beliefs would also apply to Muslims, and anti-Trumpers left some of the interviewees absolutely STUNNED.
If freedom, as President Ronald Reagan put, “is never more than one generation away from extinction,” we’re in real trouble, folks..."

Commerce investigating Obama climate study after whistleblower revelation | Washington Examiner:

"Conservative groups and Republican lawmakers had criticized the 2015 study as a politicized tool used to justify the goals of former President Barack Obama's climate change agenda, noting that it was released during the same year as the Paris climate change talks.

Bates said the lead author of the warming hiatus study, Thomas Karl, is guilty of "insisting on decisions and scientific choices that maximized warming and minimized documentation … in an effort to discredit the notion of a global warming pause, rushed so that he could time publication to influence national and international deliberations on climate policy.""

Congress Reverses 2 Obama Regulations in Education

Congress Reverses 2 Obama Regulations in Education:

"Positive Steps Forward

Both of these regulations illustrate the consequences of a federal Department of Education that engages in micromanagement of day-to-day school operations.

Sasse was right to say “good intentions are not enough” when it comes to federal regulation, and the Department of Education has been appropriately checked by Congress through these resolutions of disapproval."

What the media won’t tell you about illegal immigration and criminal activity

What the media won’t tell you about illegal immigration and criminal activity:

"That isn’t the only problem with the study. Instead of using official crime data, it uses “self-reported criminal offending and country of birth information.” For obvious reasons, there is little incentive for anyone, let alone criminal aliens, to self-report “delinquent and criminal involvement.” When it comes to self-reporting criminal activity, some respondents will, no doubt, exaggerate. Others will flat out lie. Furthermore, many respondents will likely not disclose if they are a non-citizen out of fear of discovery and deportation."

"DON’T SWEAT THE BIG STUFF:
Image result for Bloomberg Syndrome:”Near the end of his 1979 film Manhattan, Woody Allen, playing a TV writer who quits his day job to concentrate on his novel, talks into a tape recorder to begin outlining his book: “An idea for a short story about, um, people in Manhattan who are constantly creating these real, unnecessary, neurotic problems for themselves ‘cause it keeps them from dealing with more unsolvable, terrifying problems about the universe.” Which neatly summarizes the theme of the movie we’ve been watching.
In real life, what do “Progressive” politicians do to create unnecessary problems for themselves to avoid solving the simpler more mundane problems they were elected by taxpayers to solve? Invoking another neurotic controlling Manhattan lefty, Victor Davis Hanson warns that they employ “the Bloomberg Syndrome:”
Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg used to offer all sorts of cosmic advice on the evils of smoking and the dangers of fatty foods and sugary soft drinks. Bloomberg also frequently pontificated on abortion and global warming, earning him a progressive audience that transcended the boroughs of New York.

But in the near-record December 2010 blizzard, Bloomberg proved utterly incompetent in the elemental tasks for which he was elected: ensuring that New Yorkers were not trapped in their homes by snowdrifts in their streets that went unplowed for days.

The Bloomberg syndrome is a characteristic of contemporary government officials. When they are unwilling or unable to address pre-modern problems in their jurisdictions — crime, crumbling infrastructure, inadequate transportation — they compensate by posing as philosopher kings who cheaply lecture on existential challenges over which they have no control..."

Michigan Medicaid Patient Can't Find Care, So She Pays For Innovative Alternative [Michigan Capitol Confidential]

Michigan Medicaid Patient Can't Find Care, So She Pays For Innovative Alternative [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"When Michigan expanded Medicaid in 2013, one person who was relieved was cancer survivor and self-employed child care provider, Dani Valassis.
“I wasn’t making enough money to afford good, quality care,” said Valassis, who was seeking new health insurance after a divorce.
When she learned she qualified for “Healthy Michigan,” this state's version of the Medicaid expansion component of the Affordable Care Act, she thought her coverage woes were over until she sought routine care.
Of the doctors included under a state Medicaid managed care contract in Livingston County, where she lived, several were not accepting new patients and the ones who did were overwhelmed.
It was not unusual to sit in a waiting room for over an hour to see a doctor for a few minutes, which was hardly enough time for a doctor to learn her complicated medical history
“It was just frustrating. I felt like I was cattle,” said Valassis.
Image result for government healthcareAt one point, when she couldn’t get in to see a doctor, she sought emergency care.
She was diagnosed with strep throat, something that could have been treated more cheaply and faster in a doctor’s office.
The stress was compromising her health.
Out of desperation, she went back to her primary care doctor under private health insurance and asked if he could treat her.
To her dismay, she learned he wasn’t accepting any insurance, let alone Medicaid.
She thought there was no way she could afford the visits until she learned her physician, Dr. Chad Savage, was using a new billing model known as direct primary care.
“You pay a flat fee. You can see him as often as you want, and we can communicate on the internet and it’s amazing,” said Valassis.
Valassis pays $49 a month.
Younger patients pay even less.
Savage can offer care for that price because he no longer spends time and money processing insurance claims.
He added that when he left the insurance-based system, his costs dropped by more than half..."
