The Problem With Conflating Sexual Advances With Sexual Harassment | Intellectual Takeout

The Problem With Conflating Sexual Advances With Sexual Harassment | Intellectual Takeout
'"Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors?"
"It is wrong to ask someone intrusive questions about his private life.
A federal appeals court made that clear in allowing a woman to sue over invasive questions by federal officials.
It ruled that she had a plausible claim that federal officials violated her constitutional privacy rights by questioning her about private details of her “home life” in a race-relations seminar. (See Robinson v. Reed (1978)).
But Senator Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) is asking people nominated to become federal judges intrusive questions about their sex lives, as lawyer Scott Greenfield notes in “Hirono’s perjury trap.”
Hirono asks nominees a confusing compound question that conflates merely asking your spouse for sex with serious acts of sexual harassment:
Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature?
This question deliberately lumps together two very different things.
A request to your spouse for sexual favors is not illegal, even if your spouse says he doesn’t want sex; by contrast, assault of a sexual nature certainly is illegal, and should preclude anyone who commits it from ever being a judge..."

False sex assault reports not as rare as reported, studies say - Washington Times

False sex assault reports not as rare as reported, studies say - Washington Times:

Image result for Graph Clip ArtLiberals on TV and social media said repeatedly during the Senate confirmation process that only 2 percent of charges are lies — meaning there likely would be truth in the majority of such charges, such as that of Christine Blasey Ford, who accused now-Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her 36 years ago.
Brent E. Turvey, a criminologist, wrote a 2017 book that dispels this notion. His research, and that of two co-authors, cited statistical studies and police crime reports. One academic study showed that as many as 40 percent of sexual assault charges are false.

"...But since "originalist" is a bad word on the Left, they're already working on ways to get around this conservative majority they're so freaked out about.
Brian Fallon, executive director of Demand Justice, and the top spokesman for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign told The New York Times, "This confirmation vote will not necessarily be the last word on Brett Kavanaugh serving a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court."

But fortunately the American people know that the fact-free politics of hate, fear, and intimidation are not how we actually govern in our democratic republic. The Senate and the nation will not be intimidated.”

4 Reasons Why 'Climate Change' Is a Flat-Out Hoax

4 Reasons Why 'Climate Change' Is a Flat-Out Hoax:

Image result for flickr commons images EarthIf taking the scientific method into account, no intelligent person can fail to see that the constant drumbeat of wild and hysterical claims about the climate are insults to the search for Truth.
Following are four reasons why I will bet my life that "climate change" is the greatest scientific and political hoax in human history.
1. Rampant scientific fraud

"Civil rights leaders once dreamed of a day when Americans would be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin, but today a different message is being spread at the University of Texas and other college campuses.
“Diversity” means singling out certain races for special treatment.
UT’s extensive diversity bureaucracy effectively creates a separate education experience for “students of color,” with programs like the African American Male Research Initiative, the Black Student Leadership Institute,  the Black Male Education Research Collection, the John L. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies, and the African & African Diaspora Studies Department.
UT even has a taxpayer-funded research center, the innocuously-named Institute for Urban Policy Research & Analysis (IUPRA), that is focused on “social issues affecting Black communities in Texas.”
Led by Kevin Cokley, IUPRA is listed as a branch of the Black Studies program at UT..."

War on Men Is a Long-Term Plan for Democrat Victory – American Greatness

War on Men Is a Long-Term Plan for Democrat Victory – American Greatness
"Encouraging women to hate and fear men as rapists is not a cultural development.
It is a political weapon.
Democrats are trying to replicate their electoral success among blacks, which they cheaply achieve by convincing them Republicans are racists.
See the source imageSmears such as “racism” and “rape culture” are effective substitutes for policy achievements or a platform, and so much easier to deliver.
Democrats cynically ignore the unhappiness wrought by this ugly emotional manipulation of women and blacks.
With these two monolithic voting blocs in the bag, Democrats figure they may happily predict a “blue wave.”
Encouraging a war between women and men is not an improvised reaction to Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
It is a calculated initiative of the hard Left, put on steroids under President Obama.
It is working exactly according to plan..."

Fake news!-----NBC News backs off fishy statistic about plastic straws from research by 9-year-old boy | Fox News

NBC News backs off fishy statistic about plastic straws from research by 9-year-old boy | Fox News
"NBC News ...backed off a dubious claim that Americans use 1.6 straws a day on average, after critics noted it was based on research from a nine-year-old boy whose methodology never has undergone any significant scrutiny.
NBC tweeted Sunday, “Correction: An earlier version of this article included a debunked statistic that Americans throw away 500M drinking straws a day, or 1.6 a day per person..."
Previously, the network had a different story.
“@NBCNewsBETTER: At an average rate Americans use 1.6 straws per person a day-- most of them ending up in our waterways. We can do better,” the NBC News official Twitter account tweeted on Saturday, one day before Earth Day.
The tweet linked to an NBC News Better article with the title, “Fighting pollution by saying ‘no’ to plastic straws.”
...“If it’s any comfort for NBC, it can take comfort in knowing it’s not alone in spreading this dubious statistic.
On the contrary, NBC is merely the latest in a long string of newsrooms to repeat the 500 million straws claim,” Becket Adams wrote in the Washington Examiner at the time."

Too damn often!-----Anyone and Everyone | Kentucky Medicaid Fraud | Fraud of the Day

Anyone and Everyone | Kentucky Medicaid Fraud | Fraud of the Day
"As of June 2018, more than 66 million individuals were enrolled in Medicaid.
As approximately one-sixth of the national healthcare economy, it’s easy to see how the government healthcare program is an easy target for fraud(In 2016, Medicaid spending totaled $565.5 billion.)
Image result for Fraud of the DayA significant portion of fraud occurs when individuals providing personal care services submit fraudulent claims for services that were not provided.
Today’s fraudster is a Lexington, Kentucky woman, who used her sister as a cover to commit Medicaid fraud
...Additional research shows that statements were taken from the caregiver’s parents. Another article stated that the caregiver had told her mom, “If we all tell the same thing, they’re not going to be able to prove anything.” (That turned out to be a very bad idea.)
...After a two-hour deliberation, the jury returned a verdict.
The 40-year-old woman from Lexington, Kentucky was found guilty of Medicaid fraud
The jury also recommended five years behind bars when sentenced.
Whatever the outcome is on sentencing, the real losers are the taxpayers who fund the program and the recipients who don’t get the care they qualify for and deserve.
In this particular case, it was her own sister. (Fraudsters will use anyone and everyone to get what they want, even a vulnerable family member.)..."

Developing: Senate Judiciary Committee Is Now Tracking Ford-McLean Communications - Great American Republic:

The Senate Judiciary Committee is now compelled to seek more information on Dr. Ford communications within her team. It has come to the attention of the Committee that there may well have been witness tampering attempted. Leland Keyser, a friend of Dr. Ford and named as a party attendee, denied every being at any party with her and Judge Kavanaugh. Ms. Keyser said that she was ‘pressured’ by Monica McLean, a retired FBI agent and a friend of Ford’s to revise her testimony. That sounds bad. It fails the smell test as well.

Melting snowflakes!-----Anti-Kavanaugh protest postponed 'in recognition of Indigenous People's Day'

Anti-Kavanaugh protest postponed 'in recognition of Indigenous People's Day'

  • Student organizers at Scripps College in California scheduled a protest to "demonstrate [their] outrage" at Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation.
  • The protest, originally scheduled for Monday, will take place Tuesday after being postponed because of "Indigenous People's Day."

An anti-Justice Brett Kavanaugh protest at Scripps College in California was postponed after student organizers realized the event was scheduled on Columbus Day or "Indigenous People's Day."
“We want to deeply apologize for scheduling this event on the same day as the 2nd annual Indigenous People’s Day," student organizers wrote.
"Monday is a day for indigenous and non-indigenous allies to stand in solidarity and acknowledge the genocidal mission system that enslaved and killed 80 [percent] of Natives living on this land.
Additionally, we stand in solidarity with the 5,100 missing and murdered indigenous people."
...Student organizers at Scripps College had planned a protest against the United States Senate’s Saturday decision to confirm Kavanaugh for Monday. The protest aimed to “support survivors and show solidarity with those who are distraught by the Senate’s recent decision,” according to one of the event organizers.
The Facebook event description states that “[this] has been a really devastating time in US Politics.
We want to demonstrate our outrage regarding the recent Senate vote approving Brett Kavanaugh to the highest court in America...
...One organizer stated that “[we] fully recognize that this event can be triggering as well as exhausting for survivors.
We would love to have as much support as possible, but we understand that this event may be too difficult for some to attend.
Please take care of yourself and your own needs first.”...

High school band's halftime show depicts murder of police officers - The College Fix
"A Mississippi high school marching band’s halftime show caused quite a stir Friday evening after it depicted the murder of law enforcement officers.
During the performance at Brookhaven High School, members of the visiting Forest Hill High School marching band were dressed as doctors and nurses … holding at gunpoint and shooting other members dressed as SWAT team officers.
The show stoked flames of outrage as just one week before, two Brookhaven police officers were killed while responding to a call of “shots fired,” WLBT reports.
Jackson Public Schools, Forest Hill HS’s home district, had no comment as of Saturday morning..."

Hoax project gets a woke version of 'Mein Kampf' accepted by feminist journal - The College Fix
...The “Conceptual Penis” hoax wasn’t enough for mathematician James Lindsay and Portland State University philosopher Peter Boghossian.
...Four academic journals published papers submitted as hoaxes...the trio said in an essay on their experiment Tuesday.
Another three have accepted but not yet published their hoax papers.
The trio submitted 20 papers in all, which were intended to unmask the low standards in what they term “grievance studies.”
Their published paper discovering “rape culture” in dog parks has drawn the most attention, even before the trio outed their project Tuesday.
But their biggest coup may be convincing a feminist journal to accept a paper that includes a lengthy section of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf with “fashionable buzzwords switched in.”
...They term these fields “grievance studies” because they intend to inflame the grievances of certain identity groups, and targeted them because of their “increasing power over our universities, institutions, media, and culture."
...The “Feminist Mein Kampf” paper, as they called it, featured a clue about its origin right in the title: “Our Struggle is My Struggle: Solidarity Feminism as an Intersectional Reply to Neoliberal and Choice Feminism.”...
