"The creators of the ACT test announced on Wednesday that scores for the class of 2018 are the worst reported in decades.
Math scores, in fact, are in freefall among ACT-tested U.S. high school graduates, falling to their lowest mark in 14 years, according to The Condition of College and Career Readiness 2018, the ACT’s annual report.
The report includes ACT test results from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
"The percentage of ACT-tested graduates who met or surpassed the ACT College Readiness Benchmark in math—suggesting they are ready to succeed in a first-year college algebra class—fell to its lowest level since 2004," the report declared, with only 40 percent of 2018 graduates meeting the benchmark, "down from a high of 46% in 2012."...

US CO2 Emissions Plummet Under Trump While The Rest Of The World Emits More | The Daily Caller
"U.S. greenhouse gas emissions fell 2.7 percent from 2016 levels, according to the EPA.
Emissions on a per-capita basis hit a 67-year low last year, federal data shows, and supporters are touting EPA’s data as proof Trump’s agenda is working.
EPA’s new data comes on news that, globally, greenhouse gas emissions are set to rise to historic highs by the end of the year, despite nearly 200 countries signing the Paris climate accord.
Greenhouse gas emissions continued to plummet during President Donald Trump’s first year in office, according to new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) data..."

"James O’Keefe has done it again.
His latest video takes us deep into the dark side of the Democratic Party, where operatives, including at least one convicted criminal, do the bidding of the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign.
The principal topic is violence–that is, the effort by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign to provoke violence at Donald Trump rallies.
There are some shocking admissions, like “we have mentally ill people that we pay to do shit, make no mistake.”
Then there is this memorable quote:
It doesn’t matter what the legal and ethics people say, we need to win this mother***er.
You may think the Democratic Party is corrupt, but you don’t know the half of it.

Physician: American Children ‘Immersed in a Culture of Disrespect’ | Intellectual Takeout
"Then Kyle replied, ‘Shut up, mom. You don’t know what you’re talking about.’ ... Kyle is 10 years old."

Let’s face it.
Almost every child has likely had some type of meltdown in public, causing great embarrassment to both the child’s parent and to other witnesses in the vicinity.
But while such disrespectful behavior is embarrassing at age two, it’s downright horrifying the older a child gets.
Dr. Leonard Sax recently experienced one of these horrifying displays of disrespect in his medical practice.

He describes the scenario in a recent edition of The Wall Street Journal:
“Kyle was absorbed in a videogame on his cellphone, so I asked his mom, ‘How long has Kyle had a stomach ache?’

Mom said, ‘I’m thinking it’s been about two days.’
Then Kyle replied, ‘Shut up, mom. You don’t know what you’re talking about.’
And he gave a snorty laugh, without looking up from his videogame.
Kyle is 10 years old.”
Unfortunately, such behavior is no longer an anomaly, as Dr. Sax goes on to explain..."

"This past week, a Los Angeles area math teacher took to Twitter to ask advice on how to best explain to his students how Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as a US Supreme Court justice.
“I’m a teacher and when Trump was elected, students were crying at my school, Nicholas Ponticello wrote
“I didn’t know what to say then, and I don’t know what to say now that Kavanaugh has been confirmed.
What do you tell a bunch of young hopefuls when the world cheats them of their futures?
Please help!”
It doesn’t seem the futures of Ponticello’s charges are in that much jeopardy; according to his Amazon.com bio he teaches math and coordinates the STEAM program at Flintridge Preparatory School, a private grade 7-12 school in La CaƱada between LA and Pasadena.
Tuition: $36,000 per year.
As reported by The 74, UC-Berkeley graduate Ponticello said that he feels “civics is the No. 1 most important thing we can teach our students” … which is quite interesting since he’s supposed to be teaching … math..."
