10 YEARS AGO TODAY - Al Gore Predicted North Pole Would Be COMPLETELY ICE FREE in Five Years

10 YEARS AGO TODAY - Al Gore Predicted North Pole Would Be COMPLETELY ICE FREE in Five Years
"On December 13, 2008, junk scientist Al Gore predicted the North Polar Ice Cap would be completely ice free in five years.
Gore made the prediction to a German audience on December 13, 2008.
Al warned them that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.”

“Five Years”
This wasn’t the only time Al Gore made his ice-free prediction. Gore had been predicting dire scenario since 2007. That means that the North Pole should have melted completely five years ago today.
Junk scientist Al Gore also made the same prediction in 2009.

Donald Trump uses Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer quotes in border security pitch - Washington Times
"President Trump posted a video to Twitter on Thursday in which he accused the Democrats of being “absolute hypocrites” on border security and his wall, using clips from numerous high-profile Democrats to support his point.
In the clips, Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, failed 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama all denounce illegal immigration, and Mrs. Clinton specifically brags about voting to keep immigrants out with barriers.

Let’s not do a shutdown, Democrats - do what’s right for the American People!

  • At a town-hall-style gathering, Mrs. Clinton says she helped push funding “to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in.”
  • Mr. Schumer says flatly that “Illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple,” and Mr. Obama says that “we simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked.”
  • Democrats have long said they favor border security and barriers while denouncing Mr. Trump’s wall as different to the point of being a betrayal of America itself.
  • Mr. Trump introduced the clips by saying of Democrats that “all along, they’ve been supporting walls and supporting fences and supporting all sorts of border security.
  • After the clips, he concludes that “they only don’t want to act because of me.”

Vlaming was placed on paid administrative leave Oct. 31 after the school’s principal said he did not obey an order to use the preferred identity pronouns for a 9th grade student who was trying to “transition from female to male.”
The student asked to be called by the male pronouns “he” and “him.”
Vlaming insists the incident that got him fired amounted to a slip of the tongue, CBN News reported.
He was teaching a virtual reality exercise in his class when he called out, referencing the transgender student, “Don’t let her walk into the wall.”
Vlaming said, however, that while he would address the student by the new name, his Christian faith would not allow him to address a female as a male.

"ESPN's Outside the Lines reviewed and collected more than 16,000 food-safety inspection reports from health departments that monitor the 111 professional football, baseball, basketball and hockey facilities across North America.
The review of routine inspection reports from 2016 and 2017 found that at about 28 percent of the venues, half or more of the food service outlets incurred a high-level violation -- one that poses a potential threat for foodborne illness..."

House Freedom Caucus co-founder Rep. Jim Jordan tweeted Monday night that the group of conservative lawmakers would introduce a pair of amendments to the end-of-year funding bill that seek to fund the border wall and end catch-and-release policies at the border.
“Let’s get it done,” Jordan wrote. “We have the American people on our side.”

Everything You Need to Know About the New Tax Law—Before the End of the Year - WSJ
"A year ago, Republicans in Congress enacted the largest tax overhaul in a generation.
Most provisions are now in effect.
...The Tax Policy Center estimates that about 65% of filers will get an income-tax cut for 2018, while about 6% will get an increase.
But those broad categories of winners and losers mask scores of changes that affect everything from child credits to state-tax deductions.
With Dec. 31 in sight, now is a good time to review these changes, as most moves affecting 2018 tax returns have to be completed soon.
Here are answers to the most common questions taxpayers are asking about the new law..."

Trump's Ex-Lawyer Didn’t Violate Campaign Finance Laws, and Neither Did the President:

Image result for flickr commons images Michael CohenPresident Donald Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, may have been convinced by the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York to plead guilty to a supposed violation of campaign finance law, but that doesn’t mean that what happened is actually a federal crime.
In fact, neither the Federal Election Commission—which is the independent agency tasked with enforcing the Federal Election Campaign Act—nor its former commissioners would likely agree with the overaggressive view that the Southern District is taking. Indeed, the Southern District’s aggressive stance on this issue might have violated the Justice Department’s own policy.

Robert Mueller's Investigation Finds Nothing Major | National Review:

Image result for flickr commons images robert muellerIt is all nonsense; it has always been nonsense, but it is ineluctable. Adam Schiff, the incoming chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, claims that the president may be imprisoned after the end of his term. As long as the Democrats continue to pretend that they have a legal reason to destroy the president, the president’s supporters will pursue the Democrats, led by Hillary Clinton, James Comey, his deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, former intelligence directors James Clapper and John Brennan, and former attorney general Loretta Lynch, for what clearly seems to be lying to federal officials or Congress, and involvement in a fraudulent FISA surveillance warrant or renewal. The heaviest and fiercest phase of this struggle may be about to begin.

There’s a Simple Reason Today’s Students ‘Know Nothing’ | Intellectual Takeout
"I recently had an interesting conversation about education with a young man who grew up in Mexico City.
Although we never got on to the topic of whether the American or Mexican system of education system is better, he did have an observation about a major difference between the two.
See the source imageAmericans, he noted, don’t know their history very well.
He went on to explain that Mexican history was a very prominent part of the yearly curriculum and children learn it thoroughly.
As I thought about it, I realized that the U.S. education system spends far more time focusing on math and reading skills.
These subjects are certainly necessary and worthy of attention, but is it possible the heavy emphasis on them is actually a detriment to students?
...“Current education practices show that reading comprehension is misunderstood.
It’s treated like a general skill that can be applied with equal success to all texts.
Rather, comprehension is intimately intertwined with knowledge.”
Unfortunately, that knowledge is not being passed on to students..."

[H]ardOCP: Town Rejects Comcast and Chooses to Build Its Own Broadband Network
At a recent special town meeting, voters in Charlemont, Massachusetts rejected a proposal from the Comcast Cable Co. for cable internet.
Instead the town decided to build their own municipal fiber network.
The cost of the Comcast proposal would have been $462,123 and would have only covered 96% of the households in the area.
Choosing to build their own network will cost the town an extra $1 million over 20 years, but the cost to taxpayers could be the same, as the town would not seek to make a profit on its citizens.
Plus the town will be able to sell its internet service to other areas for profit...
