16 States Where Constitutional Carry is the Law of the Land
When Gov. Matt Bevin (R) signed legislation Monday to eliminate Kentucky’s concealed carry permit requirement he brought the number of constitutional carry states to 16.
Constitutional carry, or permitless carry, as it is also called, means law-abiding residents in a given state can carry their handgun for self-defense without going through a cumbersome process of first acquiring documentation from the state. In other words, the Second Amendment is your carry permit.

"Mayor Bill de Blasio has taken the concept of a Nanny State to a whole new level — instructing New Yorkers about what they can and cannot flush down their toilets.
“New York City: There are only FOUR things that should go in your toilet,” the mayor’s office tweeted from its official account Tuesday.
Below the edict is an emoji of a porcelain throne followed by an anthropomorphic “poop” emoji, three droplets of water for “pee,” a queasy green face for “puke,” and a hand making a wiping motion for “toilet paper.”
“Everything else causes FATBERGS!” the tweet warns.
“What are Fatbergs? Well, you gotta click on FatbergFree.nyc,” it reads.
The link leads to a public service video about clumps of cooking grease, wet wipes and “lots of other stuff” including tampons and Q-tips that clog up city sewers when they’re flushed down toilets.
A Department of Environmental Protection spokesman called fatbergs a “growing problem” that costs New Yorkers $19 million annually.
“They clog the sewers and machinery at the city’s wastewater facilities,” DEP spokesman Edward Timbers told The Post.
He also forwarded a photo of a fatberg longer than 10 feet pulled from the city sewer system by a crane."

REMEMBERING THE OTHER LIES OF THE PAST

Remember when we were told that we should approve the lotto because that money would help fix our public education system and roads?
Then, we were told that we should raise the sales tax from 4% to 6% because we needed that money for education and fixing the roads.
Then, we were told that we should approve casino gambling because that money would, you guessed it, go to education and fixing our roads.
And then, we raised the gas tax and vehicle registration fees to fix the roads.
Then, we were told that we should legalize marijuana and use the tax revenue for education and fixing the roads.
And now, after all of this, our education system is still sorely lacking and our roads are even worse than that and the governor proposes that we need to raise our gas tax 45 CENTS PER GALLON to fix the roads...
I THINK NOT!
How about finding all that money we were told was going to be used to fix the roads and using it to FIX THE ROADS! 😠

In 2013, the Nation’s Report Card showed that only 38% of high school seniors were proficient in reading.
With scores like that, the U.S. isn’t likely to earn the “most literate country” award any time soon.
So what is America’s international literacy ranking?
According to The Washington Post, the U.S. places seventh behind Nordic countries such as Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

Nancy Pelosi just admitted that Democrats have nothing on Trump
Nancy Pelosi just admitted that Democrats have nothing on Trump:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Monday that she’s against impeaching President Trump “unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan.” Which is exactly the point — there isn’t.
The speaker is surely up to speed on what evidence Democrats actually have against Trump and has a fair sense of what Special Counsel Bob Mueller’s report will say. And she recognizes that it’s nothing that will persuade anyone who hasn’t wanted Trump ousted since Election Day 2016.
Which means that moving to impeach him would be not just “divisive to the country,” as she says, but also bad for Democrats — since it would show them as unable to resist the most demented demands of their base.

Our Planet Is Not Fragile
Our Planet Is Not Fragile---By Walter E. Williams
"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims that “the world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change.”
The people at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change agree, saying that to avoid some of the most devastating impacts of climate change, the world must slash carbon emissions by 45 percent by 2030 and completely decarbonize by 2050.
Such dire warnings are not new.
In 1970, Harvard University biology professor George Wald, a Nobel laureate, predicted, “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”
Also in 1970, Paul Ehrlich, a Stanford University biologist, predicted in an article for The Progressive, “The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”
The year before, he had warned, “If I were a gambler, I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000.”
Despite such harebrained predictions, Ehrlich has won no fewer than 16 awards, including the 1990 Crafoord Prize, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences' highest award.
...Worse yet, this fragile-earth indoctrination is fed to the nation's youth from kindergarten through college..."

On this past Friday, the Democrats finally found a way to demonstrate their all out contempt for the sacred process of American elections.
In doing so they closed a circle on a public strategy.
In doing so they telegraphed their future intent.
In doing so Americans face a crossroads.

Cigarette Tax Hike of 75 Percent Will Create Great Lake of Smuggled Smokes – Mackinac Center:
"The opening weeks of a legislative session — and with a new governor at the helm — often produce a hailstorm of new policy proposals. One of those — House Bill No. 4188 — would raise cigarette taxes by $1.50 per pack and impose the tobacco tax on e-cigarettes.
...Most of the new money generated from the tax on traditional cigarettes — 90 percent (to $3.50)— would flow to the state’s General Fund, rather than health initiatives.
...Most people keep smoking after a tax increase; they just acquire their smokes elsewhere.
Michigan makes it illegal to bring a single untaxed cigarette into the Great Lake State, but we expect substantial increases in such activity.
A 2005 paper in the Journal of Health Economics by economist Mark Stehr, titled “Cigarette Tax Avoidance and Evasion,” concludes that up to 85 percent of the after-tax change in consumption is a function of tax evasion and avoidance.
...Remarkably, smuggling isn’t the only major consequence of these higher taxes.
In Michigan we have seen violence against police, people and property, all tied to the illicit trade in smokes..."

What's really concerning here, aside from the loopy hippie-speak, is Caporella's total failure to address why the company's sales tanked.
"I'd never heard of National Beverage Corp. or it's popular seltzer water, LaCroix, before this morning. (They also own Shasta, which of course I've heard of.)
But I can tell you I'd never put my money into a company run by anyone who writes, talks, or thinks like CEO Nick Caporella.
I've read a lot of silly press releases, but never one quite like this from the CEO of a multimillion-dollar company:
"We are truly sorry for these results stated above. Negligence nor mismanagement nor woeful acts of God were not the reasons – much of this was the result of injustice! Managing a brand is not so different from caring for someone who becomes handicapped. Brands do not see or hear, so they are at the mercy of their owners or care providers who must preserve the dignity and special character that the brand exemplifies. It is important that LaCroix's true character is not devalued intentionally − in any way. National Beverage Corp. is and will remain the preeminent innovator that adds zest and authenticity to the 'sparkling water' phenomenon in North America," stated Nick A. Caporella, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
"Additionally, gross margins were impacted by volume declines. Comparisons were further skewed by the adoption of the new tax act in the third quarter of the prior year, which included credits and rate reduction adjustments aggregating $11.3 million. Nothing herein mentioned has detracted from the ultimate value and future of our dynamic company. There is no greater passion than the kind that creates the wonderful refreshment and contentment described as unique! No doubt, the sound and personality of the word LaCroix, coupled with the awesome experience of its essence and taste . . . is unique. One can be induced to purchase by cheapening price or giving away a product, but falling in love with a feeling of joy is the result of contentment. Just ask any LaCroix consumer . . . Would you trade away that LaLa feeling? 'No way, they shout – We just love our LaCroix!' I am positive they respond this way each and every time," Caporella concluded.
What's really concerning here, aside from the loopy hippie-speak, is Caporella's total failure to address why the company's sales tanked.
"Injustice" isn't a reason; it's a complaint.
What will Caporella do to bring sales back -- fight injustice?
Study of California Police Finds Almost No Racial Profiling | Breitbart
Study of California Police Finds Almost No Racial Profiling | Breitbart:
Critics of law enforcement are outraged by the second annual report of the California Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board, which found very few incidents of racial profiling by police across the state.
The research effort is the first of its kind in the nation, mandated by a state law signed in 2015, at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement. That law established the racial profiling board and required it “to investigate and analyze state and local law enforcement agencies’ racial and identity profiling policies and practices across geographic areas in California” and to publish an annual report of its findings.

"Four years ago, I wrote about my decision to live as a woman in The New York Times, writing that I had wanted to live “authentically as the woman that I have always been,” and had “effectively traded my white male privilege to become one of America’s most hated minorities.”
Three years ago, I decided that I was neither male nor female, but nonbinary—and made headlines after an Oregon judge agreed to let me identify as a third sex, not male or female.
Now, I want to live again as the man that I am.

Whitmer wants to get rid of ‘destructive’ 3rd grade reading law - mlive.com
"Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said today she’ll work to overturn a 2016 law that requires students to repeat third grade if their reading performance is too low.
“I think (the law) is destructive,” Whitmer said during an MLive Citizen Roundtable, where three panelists joined the governor at MLive’s Grand Rapids office to discuss the $60.2 billion budget proposal she unveiled this week.
“That doesn’t fix the problem,” she said.
“A child who can’t read isn’t going to get better because you told him he was bad. Parents aren’t going to get more engaged” in that scenario.
The law requires schools to hold back children more than a grade-level behind in reading -- i.e., third-graders scoring below a second-grade reading level.
The law has a number of caveats and exceptions.
Current second-graders will be the first group subject to the law, which potentially could impact thousands of children.
Only 44 percent of Michigan third-graders passed the M-Step reading test administered in April 2018..."

The truth about socialism: It doesn't care about the middle class. It's about keeping the ruling class' power | Fox News:
All of these horrors are inevitable because socialism is built on a fatal conceit.
Modern socialists believe that the world has become so complicated, so complex, so globalized, that regular citizens just can’t manage things. We, and only we (say the socialists) are equipped to run things. Hence, for example, it’s imperative to nationalize health care, since “the little people” can’t be trusted to make intelligent, informed decisions about their health care.
Rather than empower the common man, socialists believe in empowering bureaucracy. In their minds, bureaucrats will always make decisions based on science and dispassionate reason – and make sure those decisions are implemented and enforced efficiently.

"The inability of the Maduro regime to restore power supplies to more than an intermittent fraction of Venezuela's population has provided the 21st century with its first glimpse of what a network collapse can do to a modern society.
The EMP Commission Report anticipated civilization's increasing dependency on electric power, telecommunication, banking, fuel, transportation, food distribution, water supply and emergency services grids.
They concluded that if these crashed our seemingly solid world could come tumbling down faster than we think.
The EMP Commission Report anticipated civilization's increasing dependency on electric power, telecommunication, banking, fuel, transportation, food distribution, water supply and emergency services grids.
They concluded that if these crashed our seemingly solid world could come tumbling down faster than we think.
Nearly a week after the Guri dam, which provides most of Venezuela's base electric load, broke down people are drinking from sewers, patients are dying in hospitals, prisoners are starving in their cells, gasoline is running out at stations from lack of distribution, food is rotting in the reefers and looting has become widespread.
All cascaded from a fault that till now has not yet been fully explained.
One Venezuelan described the day the grid died almost as if civilization were in the past tense.
I left the office on Thursday afternoon and when I got home the lights were out. I stopped by one of my neighbor’s apartment and we had a few beers while we waited for the power to come back on. Three days later, we still have no water, no electricity, no food, no cash and no explanations (or help whatsoever) from the authorities.
Since then, the country has turned into a ghost town. Survivors roam the empty streets looking for mobile signal, food, water, and a plug. Most stores remain closed; they say hundreds have died in public hospitals or at their homes, unable to contact anyone for help; fear has conquered the streets; looting and small protests have been reported across the nation; fires have gotten out of control. Every hour that goes by without electricity, everything gets harder to find, more expensive, scarier and sadder.
Reports describing widespread looting in Maracaibo suggest the Venezuelan state has in parts disintegrated..."
