"...trucking in the U.S. is still driven by diesel-fueled, compression-ignition (CI), internal combustion engines," reports Ars Technica. 
According to a new paper from MIT researchers, "the best way forward is not to wait for all-electric or hydrogen-powered semis, but to build a plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) truck with an internal combustion engine/generator that can burn either gasoline or renewable ethanol or methanol." From the report:
Such a setup preserves the range and affordability that's expected of diesel long-haul trucks while significantly reducing the emissions associated with diesel. To boot, it's a near-term solution; no waiting for battery weight to fall or hydrogen refueling stations to be installed.... (The paper notes that this isn't theoretical. A 90-percent reduction in tailpipe NOx from diesel has already been achieved in light-duty gas vehicles and in the heavy-duty Cummins Westport 9 liter natural gas engine.) A flex-fuel gasoline-alcohol engine could also help freight companies achieve "both the lowest air pollution and lowest greenhouse gas emissions when the internal combustion engine operates,"...Read all!

Deep Staters, Trump loyalists or non-partisan law enforcement? 

Seems pretty likely it's Deep Staters. 

Let me divide this into 6 levels that I see:
Level 1: Assange may have committed crimes, but if he only published leaks, he's no different than the MSM. His leaks were more numerous, but appear unfiltered, true and reveal an important picture that the public deserves and needs to know, and that was being deliberately hidden from them by many corrupt institutions. So his crime is that of a whistle blower with no other avenues available to achieve justice.
Level 2: The MSM publishes leaks frequently but these are highly filtered and very often untrue. Assange is not the propagandists that the MSM are.
Level 3: If Assange solicited or participated in the generation of leaks, rather than just publishing leaks made by others, that's a bit more serious. However, can we really say that the MSM is cleared of that? Don't they goad leakers? Protect them? Pay them? Give them other quid pro quos?

Even up thru Level 3, the public interest may lie more in openness than in protecting state secrets. The eternal question of governance, especially self-governance, is "who watches the watchers? Who polices the police?" The constitution provides almost 20 checks and balances of power, most of which have been radically eroded, as the state works 24/7 to bypass any checks, while the people go to their day jobs. We can see how difficult the truth is to disseminate, even after it's exposed, and how difficult it is to even slow, much less reverse, the continuous centralization of power. Therefore, allowing the state to punish a whistleblower is giving the state more power than is prudent. In who's interest was the whistleblower acting? His own? The people? A foreign power? Hard to see how tipping the scale further towards the state is a good thing. Especially when major, major, major crimes from within the state go unpunished and in fact are rewarded. In theory, the state protects us from foreign interests therefore we the people should be on the side of the state. Hard to see how that's true. The deep state seems like a much bigger threat to liberty right now than any particular foreign power. It's not really close, in fact.

Level 4B: The deep state obviously obstructed Justice for Hillary in too many ways to list here.
Level 5: Obama and the deep state spied on an opposing campaign and tried to influence the 2016 election.
Level 6: The deep state attempted a coup, harrassed people, threw them into solitary and generally acted like any police state. They highly influenced the midterms. Clearly there were crimes here that rise to the level of treason. Watergate x 100."

"It is generally believed that America is more polarized than ever.
...But a recent survey by Reuters casts a bit of doubt on how well people really know their own minds and understand the political principles they say they adhere to.
It appears that many Americans base their views on whether a particular authority figure holds them.
As Reuters explains, surveyors read a variety of political statements which Donald Trump made on the campaign trail to mixed groups of Republicans and Democrats. 
One group was told that each statement was made by Trump; the other omitted that important detail. In almost every case, Democrat support for the statement decreased when Trump’s name was attached, while Republican support increased.
Government-run health care is a prime example of this.
When asked if government should take care of everyone, 68 percent of Democrats agreed.
Only 33 percent of Republicans did the same.
But when Trump’s name was thrown into the ring, both parties had a sudden change of heart. Democrats in particular exhibited a 20 percent drop in support for government-run health care..."

Isaac Orr, Policy Fellow at Center of the American Experiment, released the following statement in response to Clean Energy Economy Minnesota’s job creation claims:
“The moneyed interests behind wind and solar energy like to pat themselves on the back for creating new jobs, but their claims are artificially inflated. 
According to their own report, 76% of the jobs they’re claiming to create already exist in industries that are only loosely related to energy efficiency, like installers of energy-efficient doors and appliances. 
Meanwhile, you never hear about the jobs that will be destroyed when energy prices skyrocket, because employers will have less money available to pay salaries and benefits.”
 Center of the American Experiment recently released a report which used the economic modeling software IMPLAN, which is standard among economists, to find 20,950 jobs would be destroyed by higher electricity prices if Minnesota were to pursue a 50% renewable energy mandate.
