News - Socialism Will Deprive You of What You Need to Survive | Heartland Institute

  • You can believe that socialism is wonderful, as apparently many people do, and no one will stop you.

"...On the other hand, the whole theoretical basis for the idea was completely smashed a century ago.
From a historical perspective, every prediction that socialism would produce nothing but chaos, deprivation, poverty, suffering, and death turned out to be true.
If both theory and history scream “Fail!” — and this failure affects things you claim to believe in, such as human rights and dignity — it might be time to rethink.
Among the most conspicuous of socialism’s failings is its capacity to generate vast shortages of things essential for life.
This is a universal feature of a socialist “economy,” and it always has been..."

Air-Climate-Energy---- "...proves, that human CO2 emissions do not increase atmospheric CO2 enough to change the climate."

Air-Climate-Energy---Edwin X Berry
"Today, on my 84th birthday, I awoke to an email that says the International Journal of Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences will publish my paper within 10 days at this link: http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/journal/archive.aspx?journalid=298&issueid=-1
This peer-reviewed publication puts me at the top of climate scientists worldwide.
Most scientific papers are more ho-hum.
Image may contain: textA few scientific papers demand a whole new way of thinking.
Among my scientific papers, this paper is my third that demands a new way of thinking.
It will require a significant change in today's political view of climate science.
My paper proves, yes proves, that human CO2 emissions do not increase atmospheric CO2 enough to change the climate.
I have successfully defended my paper against all scientific criticism.
It will have a big impact on the next political election.
President Trump and most Republicans have taken the correct position on climate change: we are not causing it.
Nature is causing it.
The Democrats, the media, our schools and universities are teaching climate fiction.
This next election will revolve around who is correct about climate change.
You can read my paper now on my website here:

ICE Releases List Of Murderers And Rapists Protected Under Sanctuary City Policies | The Daily Caller:

Image result for flickr commons images Empty jail cellImmigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released a list of criminal illegal aliens who were released from jail due to sanctuary city policies, many of whom went on to commit other crimes.
Washington and Oregon, two states under Democratic Party control, have enacted some of the strongest sanctuary laws in the country that protect illegal immigrants from federal apprehension. Washington Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee signed legislation in May that prohibits local jails and state prisons from honoring ICE detainers, and bars them notifying ICE when a suspected illegal immigrant is about to be released from their custody.

Beware of the Trojan Horse: A Critique of Social Justice - Areo

See the source imageBeware of the Trojan Horse: A Critique of Social Justice - Areo
"The public debates of those critical of Social Justice—the idea of correcting for unequal outcomes—tend to focus primarily on the illiberal attitudes and behaviours of today’s so-called Social Justice Warriors.
As justified as that critique may be, it fails to address the problems inherent in the concept of Social Justice itself.
In Law, Legislation and Liberty, F. A. Hayek writes, “It is indeed the concept of ‘social justice’ which has been the Trojan Horse through which totalitarianism has entered.”
To quote Thomas Sowell, “if you give the government enough power to create ‘social justice,’ you have given it enough power to create despotism. Millions of people around the world have paid with their lives for overlooking that simple fact.”
In other words, the “moral guise” (Hayek) of Social Justice conceals a threat to liberal democracy—partly because Social Justice is far more concerned with the equal distribution of resources (distributive justice) than the equal treatment of individuals (procedural justice).
Its primary objective is, therefore, not to safeguard individual rights and liberties, but to control social and economic outcomes..."

China Will Build Wind and Solar Only If Their Price Is Less Than Coal - IER

See the source imageChina Will Build Wind and Solar Only If Their Price Is Less Than Coal - IER
"China recently put the brakes on solar and wind energy, indicating that it will no longer approve wind and solar power projects unless they can compete with coal power prices.
In late May 2018, China issued “2018 Solar PV Power Generation Notice,” imposing caps on solar energy and reducing feed-in tariffs on those projects.
More recently, China’s National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration provided a series of conditions under which new solar and wind projects would be approved through the end of 2020.
Conditions include that the price must match or undercut the national coal benchmark and that the projects must show that the grid can handle their output.
In 2017, 12 percent of wind generation and 6 percent of solar generation was curtailed due to lack of transmission capacity..."

University hammered over 'Orwellian' move - WND:

Image result for free clip art No SpeakingA university in the United Kingdom has issued a new speech restriction – one that demands all references to the transgender lifestyle choice be “positive.”
And it’s catching major backlash from professors who describe the action as “Orwellian.”
The Christian Institute identified the school as the University of Sussex, which has decreed that transgender people can only be “positively represented” in classes on campus.
“The university has introduced a clause in its equality policy which says that ‘any materials within relevant courses and modules will positively represent trans people,'” the Institute said.
Philosophy professor Kathleen Stock, however, suggests that academics need “to be free to discuss concerns over men who identify as women having access to women’s prisons, hostels and rape crisis centers,” the Institute said.
“Universities should have policies that protect employees and students from discrimination,” she explained. “But policies which say you must always ‘positively represent’ a group of people clearly overstep the boundary.”
Such “repressive” ideas exert a “chilling effect” on speech, she warned.

The Student Loan Debt Crisis Is About to Get Worse - Bloomberg:
The next generation of graduates will include more borrowers who may never be able to repay.
See the source image"...Federal student loans are the only consumer debt segment with continuous cumulative growth since the Great Recession.
As the costs of tuition and borrowing continue to rise, the result is a widening default crisis that even Fed Chairman Jerome Powell labeled as a cause for concern.
Student loans have seen almost 157 percent in cumulative growth over the last 11 years.
...All told, there’s a whopping $1.5 trillion in student loans out there (through the second quarter of 2018), marking the second-largest consumer debt segment in the country after mortgages, according to the Federal Reserve.
And the number keeps growing.
...Student loan debt currently has the highest 90+ day delinquency rate of all household debt.
More than 1 in 10 borrowers is at least 90 days delinquent..."

The president did not provide significant details about the effort, but in the tweets he called on congressional Democrats to work with Republicans to close immigration loopholes.

"They will be removed as fast as they come in. Mexico, using their strong immigration laws, is doing a very good job of stopping people long before they get to our Southern Border.

Orwell Explains How Socialists Alter Language to Alter History

See the source imageOrwell Explains How Socialists Alter Language to Alter History
"Orwell wrote that through the alteration of the past, and by portraying the remaining memory of history as evil—or supportive only of the socialist regime—classic texts such as the American Declaration of Independence would be incomprehensible in their original context.
People would be incapable of understanding them as they were originally intended...
  • Newspeak
And understanding this, Orwell imagined how a socialist regime would deal with such subversive values.
Orwell’s answer was the idea of a government-altered language and a warped system of values that could alter the way people interpret information...
  • DOUBLETHINK
“This demands a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as DOUBLETHINK,” Orwell wrote..."

Boeing Tankers Still Have Debris; Fix is ‘Months, Maybe Longer’ Away - Government Executive

  • But the Air Force is once again accepting aircraft so that new inspection processes can be brought to bear, acquisition chief Roper says.

LE BOURGET, France — Boeing executives didn’t want the international debut of their KC-46 Pegasus to take place amid questions about why the U.S. Air Force is still finding debris inside the new aerial tankers.
...“This is not something that you fix by sending out a memo,” Roper said Monday during a briefing here.

They started taking them again in March, then stopped again when inspectors found more debris..."
