The 1776 Flag Isn't the Problem. Anti-American Leftists Are. | Trending
"...To associate the 1776 American flag with slavery is to miss the purpose and genius of the American Revolution.
...Slavery was abhorrent and did exist in the colonial era, and for decades afterward.
Slavery existed for millennia before there were any colonists in America, and unfortunately, it still exists now.
Slavery did not solely exist in America in 1776.
It was not uniquely American.
And the American Revolution was not fought for or about slavery.
...The American Revolution took place in the context of an age of revolutions against monarchy and hereditary government.
It set in motion a series of events that turned the average person into a citizen rather than a subject.
This was a deeply profound paradigm shift in the human mind and condition, we can scarcely understand how profound today.
...Among other things, the 13 stars on Ross’ flag represent the art and power of compromise.
The colonies disagreed deeply on many issues.
Slavery was a key source of disagreement.
Most of the founders opposed it but knew they could not forge a new nation and abolish slavery at the same time.
...It’s a near miracle all 13 colonies agreed on enough to be united symbolically on the flag.
Fourscore and seven years later, a scholarly president declared the nation had been re-forged – without slavery, a sin paid for in blood.
...The founders did not get everything perfect in 1776.
They knew this better than we do.
Winning independence was not the end, but the beginning.
But they also understood they were creating a constitutional system which would allow a perfecting of freedom to begin.
It was an experiment.
They did not know if it would succeed, or last more than a generation or two after them.
It has, but our system needs an educated and virtuous citizenry to function.
The founders understood this too..."

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the attack of Andy Ngo at an Antifa rally Saturday was “unacceptable,” but it hasn’t yet issued a written statement condemning the attack.
CPJ is a non-profit organization that promotes freedom of the press and aims to defend journalists rights. It has not published a written statement on its website about the attack on Ngo Saturday by masked men that resulted in an alleged brain bleed. CPJ told the DCNF it is still working with the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker to document the case as of Monday.

"Minus – 1.6 C (Below freezing at almost sea level).
4 July 2019 – At the former air base in Twente, the temperature dropped to -1.6 C this morning – a record low for the entire month of July, according to Weerplaza.
Dutch meteorologists began taking temperature measurements at a height of 10 cm above the surface in 1971. This is only the seventh time since then that there has been frost in the Netherlands in July. The most recent being on 9 and 10 July 2015, and before that on July 1st, 1984.
Thanks to Daniel Lemmers in Montréal for this link
“By the way,  this -1.6 is an ALL TIME July low record,” says Daniel. “A new ice age is coming.”\

Harvard Law Professor Says Pro-Life Christians Should be Treated Like Nazis | LifeNews.com
"Every day, it seems, the United States is becoming a more hostile environment for people with pro-life and conservative positions.
...A recent article by Harvard law professor Mark Tushnet on the blog Balkinization calls for liberals to pursue even more aggressive measures against conservatives and pro-lifers, according to a new column by The Heritage Foundation’s Ryan T. Anderson.
Anderson wrote at The Daily Signal:
See the source image...Tushnet blames what he calls the “culture wars” on conservatives, and he says liberals should now make conservatives pay.
“The culture wars are over; they lost, we won,” he writes in italics.
Tushnet claims that conservatives “had opportunities to reach a cease fire, but rejected them in favor of a scorched earth policy.”
… Tushnet makes it clear that he and his colleagues among the liberal elite want the government to treat conservative Christians worse than racists—like Nazis.
Tushnet said liberals should take a strong “hard line (‘You lost, live with it’)” approach to conservatives, including all pro-lifers (some liberals also oppose abortion), not allowing any “accommodations” or compromises..."

Gallup: Pride in being an American reaches modern low — thanks to rock-bottom numbers from Democrats.
“The current Democratic numbers are less than half what they were during the darkest days of the Iraq war.
I blogged during that period and, let me tell you, I never dreamed that Democratic animosity towards a Republican president would be worse than it was then.”
Bush Derangement Syndrome was a pale shadow of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Plus: “In lieu of an exit question, here’s a Trump-sized dook that was dropped on the NYT op-ed page yesterday because, I guess, there’s only one mood a right-thinking liberal newspaper can properly have when Independence Day rolls around.
Actual title of this piece: ‘Please Stop Telling Me America Is Great.’
It’d make a terrific Democratic slogan in 2020.”--Posted by

Emphasis on "power."
And on the fascist Left, which has taken over the Democratic Party and captivated those without life experience."
