The Navy Wants Money To Get Started On Its Future SSN(X) Attack Submarine - The Drive

The first-in-class USS Seawolf. The Navy Wants Money To Get Started On Its Future SSN(X) Attack Submarine - The Drive:
  • The Navy's goal is to design a submarine that is better-optimized for attacking other ships and subs than its existing Virginia class boats.
...In recent years, the U.S. Navy has been outspoken about increases in Russian submarine activity in particular in the North Atlantic and the East Coast of the United States, concerns you can read about in more detail in these recent War Zone pieces.
The service is also faced with dramatic increases in the size and capabilities of China's People's Liberation Army Navy, including its submarine forces, which is increasingly active across the Pacific, as well as other regions of the world..."

The State of the Race: Democrats In Despair? | Power Line

See the source imageThe State of the Race: Democrats In Despair? | Power Line
"I and many others have been saying for a long time that the Democrats don’t have an adequate presidential candidate this year.
...I first described Joe Biden as a “dead candidate walking” in mid-October...
...A second factor is probably even more important: Warren is a harridanIt should be no surprise that few people want to be lectured at by her for the next four years.
...Bernie Sanders has a loyal following, mainly among the young and ignorant. But he hasn’t been able to expand that following beyond the base he had four years ago.
...Pete Buttigieg has performed relatively well in both Iowa and New Hampshire, which I think reflects the desperate state of the Democratic race. “Mayor Pete” has a basic problem: he is utterly unqualified for the presidency.
...I don’t consider Michael Bloomberg much of a threat, either. He has one thing going for him: money.
...So who is left? I still think Tulsi Gabbard would be the Democrats’ strongest general election candidate, but she is 1) patriotic, and 2) not a hater. She even wished Rush Limbaugh well when he announced his cancer diagnosis. So there is no risk that the Democrats might nominate her.
...That leaves Amy Klobuchar, who disappointed in Iowa but came on strong in New Hampshire.
...Still, I think Klobuchar is now the Democrats’ most likely presidential nominee..."

A scientist speaking at the National Farmers Union conference has argued that living a vegan lifestyle is more damaging to the environment than eating meat.
The Rothamsted Institute’s Graham McAuliffe said that the manner in which tofu — a protein foodstuff made from soy ‘milk’ — is produced has a worse carbon footprint than chicken, pork, or lamb produced for eating, according to an unpublished report.

  • The U.S. Department of Education is investigating Harvard and Yale after the Ivy League institutions failed to report millions in foreign gifts.
  • The probe is part of an ongoing federal effort to get to the bottom of billions in undisclosed foreign gifts at colleges across the country.

...According to the Wall Street Journal, the Department of Education is continuing a review that American colleges did not disclose $6.5 billion in foreign funding, including monies from China and Saudi Arabia.
..."Unfortunately, the more we dig, the more we find that too many are underreporting or not reporting at all..."

Donald Trump drains swamp after impeachment acquittal - Washington Times

Donald Trump drains swamp after impeachment acquittal - Washington Times:

Image result for flickr commons images president trumpPresident Trump was discussing the recent ouster from the White House National Security Council of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, an impeachment witness against him, when a reporter asked the president if more staff departures are to come.
“Oh sure, absolutely,” the president replied. “There always are.”
Since his acquittal last week in the Senate, Mr. Trump has embarked on a post-impeachment house-cleaning to drain the swamp of staff deemed disloyal to him personally or unsupportive of his agenda. Democrats have accused him of carrying out political retribution, but some observers say the personnel moves are legitimate, retribution or not.

Liberal Groups and High-Powered Lawyers Swarm Detroit to Keep Dead Voters on Rolls
Image result for soros vote fraud"Liberal groups and high-powered New York attorneys swooped into Detroit this week to help the city fight a lawsuit over its voter roll irregularities, which included thousands of deceased individuals appearing on the rolls.
...The liberal groups and attorneys are converging on Detroit as part of a broader campaign against alleged efforts to "purge" individuals from voter rolls.
Democrats have built a massive network of nonprofit groups, funded by George Soros and other liberal donors, to oppose Republican-backed voting initiatives such as voter identification laws. Michigan is a significant target for such efforts given its "swing state" status; Trump won the state by just 10,000 votes in the 2016 election..."

The Facts About Trump That Are Deadly For Democrats – Issues & Insights

The Facts About Trump That Are Deadly For Democrats – Issues & Insights
"The Democrats didn’t like President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address because he highlighted data, such as the strong economy and record employment under his watch, they’d rather voters didn’t know.
But those points were just a start.
There’s much more about Trump that his opponents want to hide from the public.
The Democrats have stayed true to their talking points, calling Trump a “monster,” a “white supremacist,” and a “dictator” at every opportunity.
While campaigning in New Hampshire, Joe Biden said the president “doesn’t have a shred of decency in him.”
Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg wants to convince voters “this election is a decency check on this president.”
Tom Steyer, who apparently didn’t wish to strain his vocabulary’s limits, simply says Trump is “a bad man.”
None of those charges would stick, though, if the electorate knew that:
  • In 1986, Trump helped stop the foreclosure of Annabel Hill’s family farm in Georgia. He contributed $39,000 toward the money she needed to pay off the mortgage.
  • Two years later, Trump sent his personal jet to fly 3-year-old Andrew Ten across the country for critical medical care after commercial airlines refused to allow his life-support system on board.
  • In 2000, Trump gave a “generous” check to the family of a young girl named Megan, who was suffering from Brittle Bone Disease. He saw her on the Maury Povich show and was moved.
  • Trump not only allowed actress Jennifer Hudson, who is black, and her family to stay free at his Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago after her mother and brother were murdered in 2008, he apparently increased security for them.
  • Three years before winning the presidency, Trump  gave a $10,000 check to bus driver Darnell Barton, who stopped a suicidal woman from jumping off an overpass in Buffalo.
  • A year later, Trump wrote a $25,000 check to retired Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, who had been in a Mexican jail for seven months. While carrying loaded weapons, he had made a wrong turn on a California freeway that forced him into the Tijuana port of entry with no way to turn back. Trump sent the money to help Tahmooressi “get back on his feet.”
These examples, which have been independently verified, were first compiled along with others at Townhall by Liz Crokin..."

Steve Scalise: Free Americans Scare Democrats to Death

Steve Scalise: Free Americans Scare Democrats to Death:

Democrats are “scared to death” of free Americans, said Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow, highlighting left-wing propositions for increasing central planning and governmental controls over the population.
“The president’s fighting for people,” said Scalise. “[Democrats] are fighting for government control, and it scares them to death to think that individuals might actually be able to control their own destiny.”

The Democrats: A Corrupt, Insane Posse Masquerading as a Political Party - American Thinker
"Eleven years ago, the writer Michael Walsh wrote (under his penname David Kahane) “Think of the Democratic Party as it really is: a criminal organization masquerading as a political party.”
After the Democrats’ Russia, Kavanaugh, Mueller, and Ukraine fiascos, the Iowa caucus debacle, and Friday’s bizarre Democratic debate, I think we need to update it: It’s a Criminal, Insane Posse masquerading as a political party..."
...The Democratic “Debate”
I confess, by week’s end I lacked enough patience to watch the Democrats’ debate on Friday night, and contented myself with reading about it from trusted observers. The actor James Woods is back from a year-long jailing by Twitter, and bounced back having lost none of his acid wit:
“The #Democrats have cheated elections for so long, they can’t even elect themselves... #IowaCaucusDisaster

Adam Carolla: California would care about the homeless 'if it could get money from them' | Fox News

Adam Carolla: California would care about the homeless 'if it could get money from them' | Fox News
"In an interview that aired Monday, comedian Adam Carolla told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" that California's government isn't concerned about the poor because they can't get money from them, adding that the ultra-poor are "untouchable."
"[California officials] would care if they owe them money and they had money and they could get money from them," Carolla told Carlson.

"They care greatly about people who have checkbooks, but they've really divided the entire city into those who pay and those who can't. And if you can't, they're not that interested."
Carlson asked Carrolla about the growing homeless crisis in California and breakdown of the "rule of law."

Carolla explained that the middle class is who suffer most.
"If you're Barbra Streisand. What do you care about a speeding ticket... and if you're ultra-poor, you're untouchable because you can't get blood out of a turnip. You know, there's nothing there. There's there's none. You can't pay them," Carolla said. "It's the middle who gets the crap kicked out of them here in Los Angeles."
"So we have a million rules for those who play by the rules, and we have no rules for those who have no money and don't play by the rules," Carolla added.
Carolla argued that no one wants to enforce the rules because they're afraid of being perceived as "mean."...
