Image result for flickr commons images CBS LogoLast week, CBS News admitted to an "editing mistake" after it got caught using footage of an overwhelmed Italian hospital while describing the coronavirus conditions in New York City.
In a statement to Fox News, a CBS spokesperson acknowledged the mistake and assured that it "took immediate steps to remove it from all platforms and shows."
Yet, despite the admission and supposed subsequent actions, CBS News has continued to use the misleading footage. In a news segment April 4, the outlet used the footage again, this time while discussing the coronavirus outbreak in Pennsylvania.

Riverside County Encourages Residents To Snitch On Each Other To Curb Covid-19
"RIVERSIDE COUNTY: Riverside has become the latest county to encourage its citizens to rat out their fellow neighbors who may be violating state and county public health orders.
These requests have residents on edge.
Many members of the public are outraged because these tactics have been used historically in countries where individual freedoms were lost.
The government using masses against masses or brother against brother is a proven method to control its people.
A press release sent out Thursday, by the Riverside County Health Department informed the public about RivCoMobile, which has a “Coronavirus” feature on the landing page.
This mobile page can be used to make anonymous reports about possible violations of orders.

The coronavirus pandemic may get American companies to do something the government has wanted for decades: return manufacturing to the United States.
Global manufacturing consulting firm Kearney released a report Tuesday that shows American manufacturing companies are leaving China en masse, spurred first by the trade war and solidified by China's inability to contain COVID-19 after unleashing it on the global community.

"In an April 9 press conference, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer explained why playing golf or doing landscaping is not permitted under her statewide “stay at home” order, saying it puts “low income” people at risk.
“Golf, landscaping - and I've heard these seem to be the ones that we hear the most from the legislature, some of the Republican legislators - you know what, it's not critical infrastructure.
It's just not,” Whitmer said.
“They are not necessary to sustain life.
And to be candid, just by engaging in it can expose people to risk, serious risk.
Every time you ask a low income person to come out and fill up their gas tanks, go get food.
It's additional opportunity for exposure and for spread.
And that's what happens.”

"...So are images of coffins being buried in mass graves.

“Before the president said anything about it, there was fair and balanced coverage of this very promising drug, and the fact that it had such a long track record that the risks were pretty well known,” he continued. “And as soon as he said something positive about it, the media has been on a jihad to discredit the drug. It’s quite strange.”

"A point about keeping items like ventilators in inventory - technology moves at a rapid rate.
Technology based equipment, which most modern medical equipment is, becomes obsolete and unsupported over time.
Buying equipment for strategic inventories is fruitless unless there is a plan to rotate that inventory to keep it "fresh".
Buying such equipment would be like buying a computer today, then storing it for a decade and then unboxing it and expecting it to run current applications without a problem."

Police Fine Christians $500 for Attending Drive-In Worship Service
"Police in Greenville, Miss., issued $500 tickets to Christians who gathered in a church parking lot to worship together in the safety of their cars on Wednesday.
The Christians at Temple Baptist Church intended to honor coronavirus social distancing restrictions while gathering to worship God, but the police cracked down, regardless.
Charles E. Hamilton Jr., pastor of King James Bible Baptist Church, raised the alarm on Facebook Wednesday evening.
...Parishioner Chris Owens shared a video of a police officer giving him a citation for attending the drive-in worship service.
In the video, Owens explains that the church wanted to comply with social distancing rules while still meeting for worship.
The officer issues the citation, regardless.
"One of the police officers said the mayor wanted to make an example of our church," Temple Baptist Church Pastor Arthur Scott told Todd Starnes.
"I told them to get some more tickets ready because we will be preaching Sunday morning and Sunday night."

Doctors fighting coronavirus face a ventilator Catch-22 — Quartz
"...Critical care doctors are beginning to worry that stress caused by invasive ventilation may contribute to the grim measures of fatality among Covid-19 patients on ventilators:
One recent study of 338 Covid-19 patients (pdf) in the UK who relied upon invasive ventilators to breathe found that two-thirds died
...But some clinicians believe that patients with plunging oxygen levels who would normally would be placed on a mechanical ventilator may do better receiving oxygen with less aggressive means.
...In that case, using ventilators to increase the pressure of oxygen pumped into the body may do more harm than good.
...Now, he and his colleagues are looking at cheaper ways to build non-invasive ventilators that also prevent the spread of the virus in the air.
In Italy, engineers have adapted full-face scuba masks into non-invasive ventilators..."

Bloom, a Daily Caller alum and managing editor of The American Conservative, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that Comcast had business ties to Beijing that could explain the company-wide trepidation in directly challenging the coronavirus claims coming out of China.
