Michigan Health Department Proposes ‘Gender Expression’ Mandates For Child Care
  • Child’s ‘expressed gender’ would have to be given consideration for sleeping and clothing
"The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has just released proposed rules that would require “child caring institutions” to “consider a youth’s gender identity when determining a sleeping arrangement.”
This includes facilities organized for “receiving minor children for care, maintenance, and supervision, usually on a 24-hour basis.”
...“Gender identity” is defined as “an individual’s self-conception as being male, female, both, or neither.”
Child care institutions must also “provide access to clothing that is consistent with the youth’s gender expression.”...Read all.

Dem. chairman blocks Jim Jordan from pressing Fauci for blaming disobedient Americans for COVID surges in lockdown states - TheBlaze

The fact of the matter is Michigan continues to enforce coronavirus restrictions and yet cases are still going up. States that ended the restrictions are not seeing comparable surges in COVID-19 cases. And before the nation's most-cited health expert on the coronavirus response, Dr. Fauci, could answer a question on that discrepancy, Clyburn shut the conversation down.

  • An unlikely government entity may be watching your activity on social media.
"According to a Yahoo News report, the law-enforcement arm of the US Postal Service is running a "covert" program that monitors Americans' social media posts for "inflammatory" content and then passes those posts along to other government agencies.

COVID ‘Experts’ Shut Out the Light at the End of the Tunnel

COVID ‘Experts’ Shut Out the Light at the End of the Tunnel
  •      But what people really need is assurance that the pandemic will end.
"What were the “experts” thinking?
Two recent actions have discounted vaccination’s reward while increasing concerns about its risk.
On top of the underlying elements undermining vaccination participation, their actions send the ominous message that our precautions will be perpetual.
  • Recently Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that, despite being fully vaccinated, he does not plan to go to an indoor restaurant or a movie or plan any trips “for a while.”
  • Not long after, the CDC and FDA recommended pausing the administration of the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine “out of an abundance of caution” because, out of around 6.9 million doses administered, six women had developed a rare form of blood clot.
Just like that, the reward-to-risk ratio of the COVID vaccination effort worsened.
It was a one-two punch.
One: Fauci’s admission diminished the return on getting vaccinated. For many people, eating out, going to a movie, and taking a trip are the reasons they wanted to get vaccinated.
Two: the CDC–FDA “pause” gave further pause (not that more was needed) to those debating vaccination’s safety and did so over a literally “one in a million” occurrence.
People need to see some light ahead, not just more tunnel.

A cure is important, but so is hope

"...it is entirely possible that whites will permanently remove themselves and their businesses from majority black areas – the inner cities will essentially become no-go areas for whites..."

Michael Smith
"...I think these two characteristics also apply to racial segregation – there is legal segregation – segregation mandated by some authority, and segregation in fact, a segregation by choice of the people (for lack of a better term).
If Derek Chauvin is convicted, which I have expected since the trial started (I think they overcharged him), and the disparate prosecutorial treatment that is evident in BLM and ANTIFA offenders and people like Kyle Rittenhouse and the January 6th “rioters”, it is entirely possible that whites will permanently remove themselves and their businesses from majority black areas – the inner cities will essentially become no-go areas for whites.
It seems the message is being sent that whites are not welcome in these areas, not white police, not white owned businesses, not white residents - even whites are saying this, not as racists, but as support for the desires of BLM.
I know that probably is not the feeling of the majority of black residents, but it certainly is the message of leaders of the BLM movement, most of the “community activists” in these areas, as well as some of the black members of the United States Congress.
One wonders if a completely new and separate type of legal system will evolve in these areas...Read all.

Detroit Cop Claims And Gets Paid For 12-Plus Hours A Day, 365 Days A Year

Detroit Cop Claims And Gets Paid For 12-Plus Hours A Day, 365 Days A Year
  • Seven others paid amount equal to 11-hour days — every day of the year
"A Detroit Police Department lieutenant collected 2,501.1 hours of overtime pay in 2020, which raised his pay to $255,244.
A lieutenant would have had to put in more than 6.8 hours of overtime per day, 365 days a year, to accumulate 2,501.1 hours of overtime.
When combined with 2,080 hours at the regular rate (40 hours per week for 52 weeks), that comes to 4,581.1 hours on the job in a single year.
To accumulate that much time, this officer would have had to work the equivalent of 12.55 hours on every day last year, including holidays and weekends...Read all!!

Florida Sheriff Explains Riots vs. Protests for Liberals - Louder With Crowder

Florida Sheriff Explains Riots vs. Protests for Liberals - Louder With Crowder: Florida sheriffs are simply cut different. Should the Second Amendment be needed to defend your family from rioters, Florida sheriffs have your back. And that was BEFORE future President DeSantis signed Florida's new anti-riot laws. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd (which is an awesome name for a sheriff) made clear LAST YEAR that Florida won't be suffering rioting fools. Peaceful protests are still encouraged. Though not everyone seems to know the difference between protesting peacefully and rioting violently. Yes, even with Florida's new laws. If you are one of those knuckleheads, Sheriff Judd has visual aids.

Angry demonstrators swarm, scream at NYC diners: 'We don't want your f***ing taqueria, owned by f***ing white men!' - TheBlaze
"Demonstrators swarmed people dining outside of a Brooklyn taqueria, according to the New York Post, demanding they take their business elsewhere.
Dozens of protesters gathered outside of the Maya Taqueria in Prospect Heights on Tuesday following the guilty verdicts of Minneapolis former police Officer Derek Chauvin, demanding the outdoor diners leave.
Newsweek reported that the protesters, purported to be with NYC group Shut it Down, stopped outside of the restaurant to "castigate the outdoor diners."
"Stay the f*** outta New York!" some could be heard shouting, while others chanted, "We don't want you here!"
"We don't want your f***ing money! We don't want your f***ing taqueria, owned by f***ing white men!" the apparent leader screamed at the customers...Read all.

The Era of Easy Money - WSJ

The Era of Easy Money - WSJ
"...How and when will it all end?
  • Someone pointed us to Hometown International (HWIN), which owns a single deli in rural New Jersey. The deli had $21,772 in sales in 2019 and only $13,976 in 2020, as it was closed due to COVID from March to September. HWIN reached a market cap of $113 million on February 8. The largest shareholder is also the CEO/CFO/Treasurer and a Director, who also happens to be the wrestling coach of the high school next door to the deli. The pastrami must be amazing.
...Another passage in the Greenlight letter may help explain the bold new thinking of Fed officials, who don’t seem too concerned about inflation risks as they continue to hold short-term lending rates close to zero, even as they have continued to create new money by expanding the Fed balance sheet.
Greenlight writes of the Fed:
...Furthermore, the Fed has indicated that it believes any abnormally high inflation will be transitory.
We wonder, how will the Fed know?
Do price increases come with a label that says “transitory”?
Our sense is that no matter how hot inflation gets in the coming months, the Fed will continue with zero interest rates and large-scale asset purchases.
After all, the U.S. Treasury has a lot of debt to sell and it isn’t clear who, other than the Fed, can absorb the supply...Read all!

Illinois' Pension Bomb Has a Short Fuse | RealClearPolicy

Illinois' Pension Bomb Has a Short Fuse | RealClearPolicy
  • A crisis exposes weaknesses.
"The COVID-19 economic crisis showed the danger of government making promises it can’t afford.
Here in Illinois, the crisis has served as a dress rehearsal for the kind of havoc the state’s pension crisis could inflict on the Illinois economy and government retirees if nothing changes.
More than 1 in 10 Illinoisans – 1.1 million, or about 11.4% of the adult population – are members of an Illinois public pension system.
Those government retirment systems are sitting on mountains of debt.
There's $144 billion in debt just in the five statewide systems, by the state’s conservative estimate, or $261 billion by a more realistic, independent estimate.
They average only 40% of the funds needed to pay out retiree benefits long-term.
...Illinois politicians have enhanced benefits without funding them and pushed off the financial reckoning for decades.
As a result, pension costs, which took up just 4% of the state’s budget in the 1990s, have increased by more than 500% during the past 20 years, growing to consume more than 25% of budgets in recent years - rapidly approaching 30%....Read all.
