"The idea that medical bankruptcy is a major issue in the US is one of the biggest and most ridiculous myths in popular culture."

Facebook--Sean Malone
"The idea that medical bankruptcy is a major issue in the US is one of the biggest and most ridiculous myths in popular culture.
1. In 2017, just 767,721 people filed for bankruptcy in the US as individuals. That's about 0.2% of the population.
2. But only a small minority of people who file for bankruptcy are mostly driven by medical bills..."

The debate about American healthcare is being influenced by recent controversial research claiming to show that nearly two-thirds of personal bankruptcies in the United States resulted from uninsured medical expenses or loss of income due to illness.

Cultural Marxism: A Primer

Cultural Marxism: A Primer
"During World War One, Marxists thought that the brutality of the war along with the class structure of the military would cause Marxist revolutions throughout the Western World.
Instead only Russia went communist.
Ironically, Russia did not have an industrial economy, and was the only country that they did not think would go communist.
Perplexed, some of the top communist thinkers settled in the 1920s at Goethe University, in Frankfurt, Germany, where they studied the ‘problem’.
They found several things.
  • First and foremost they found that the West had a highly individualistic culture that was incompatible with collectivist ideals.
  • They also found that Western societies were far too wealthy to want to change cultures. In America even that long ago for example, almost every family had a car…
They considered the wealth of the people, rich and poor alike, a problem because they put the ideology of communism ahead of the wealth of flesh and blood people...Read all.

Tom Hanks dogged for insufficiently anti-racist film career: 'He's built a career playing righteous white men' - TheBlaze
As the heated national conversation over racial injustice escalates, progressive ideologues are becoming increasingly unsatisfied with the conventional non-racist notion of adhering to a colorblind way of life and treating everyone the same way regardless of race or ethnicity.  To be "non-racist" is simply not enough, the argument goes. Citizens, especially prominent ones, must be "anti-racist" if they are to be a benevolent force against America's systemic racism, both past and present. If they fail to demonstrate sufficient anti-racism, they are to be cast aside as something of a foe to the movement. The latest victim of such an impossible standard appears to have been massively famous actor and filmmaker Tom Hanks.

WaPo's Alleged "Conservative" Michael Gerson: Obviously Right-Wing "Fascism" is a Greater Threat Than Extreme Wokeness--Ace of Spades HQ

Ace of Spades HQ

  • WaPo's Alleged "Conservative" Michael Gerson: Obviously Right-Wing "Fascism" is a Greater Threat Than Extreme Wokeness

"   Michael Gerson is a filthy c*** who still claims to be a "conservative" -- one of the many well-paid ones at major media outlets who exclusively attacks conservatives.

He pats himself on the back for his courage. He has a book out called, I shit you not, Heroic Conservatism.

...The full article is behind a paywall, but Twitchy notes that Gerson admits that he himself is "woke." He thinks wokeness is good.

...he looks right past the imposition of extreme wokeism into all corners of one's daily private life to find the real authoritarians -- Republicans and Trump supporters.

Who, as far as I know, do not have a single tech monopoly squelching all of their political opponents' speech, nor a single bank cancelling the accounts of their political enemies.

Nor a new $100 million initiative proposed by Biden to find "the real terrorists."

Here is NeverTrump in all its squalor and filthy cowardice:

In comparing the right's fear of extreme critical race theory and the left's fear of fascism, it is not really useful to ask which horror would be worse if implemented. Both ideologies are ultimately at war with liberal democracy -- the pursuit of a common good, the practice of incremental reform, the cultivation of social trust and the acceptance of democratic outcomes. But it is crucial to ask which nightmare is currently most likely to be implemented.

Given that the tech monopolies, media, banks, academy, and most government institutions are enforcing extreme wokism, you'd imagine he'd say that extreme wokism is the one currently being implemented...Read all.

Anatomy of the Woke Madness--Victor Davis Hanson

Anatomy of the Woke Madness
  • How did such collective madness infect a once pragmatic and commonsensical America?
"Wokeism has become our most popular secular religion—at least for a moment dethroning climate change.
It reduces all of the past and present into puerile binaries between “whites” and “non-whites.”
Its aim is for the present generation to rewrite our history—whether by The 1619 Project and cancel culture or iconoclastic statue-toppling and Trotskyization of names and places.
Wokeism becomes a child’s morality tale of noble non-white victims versus villainous white victimizers.
Erasing the past and its language supposedly fuels a recalibration of the future, all in the here and now, a holy Year Zero
In the process, wokeism has done a lot of damage to America, and will do even more if left unchecked.
  • Here are its chief characteristics.
Elites vs. Elites
First, remember that wokeism is a top-down phenomenon.
It started in academia with “critical race theory” and “critical legal theory.”
These are bastard offshoots of harebrained “critical theory,” which arose from a demoralized and adrift Europe after the cataclysms of two devastating European-spawned world wars.
These ‘theories” are merely adolescent delusions that norms, customs, traditions, laws, and rules are just arbitrary “constructs.”...Read all!

'Shut the f*** up!': Actor, comedian Kevin Hart has had it with cancel culture - TheBlaze

Hart concluded that his comedy is bringing people together, not tearing people apart — unlike cancel culture and our politics today.

"If there's a message to take from anything I've said, it's that in this world of opinion, it's OK to just disagree," he said, adding, "We are so caught up in everybody feeling like they have to be right and their way is the only way. Politics is f***ed up because, if you don't choose our side, you're dumb."

Situational outrage.

America the Outlier: Voter Photo IDs Are the Rule in Europe and Elsewhere | RealClearInvestigations
"Democrats and much of the media are pushing to make permanent the extraordinary, pandemic-driven measures to relax voting rules during the 2020 elections – warning anew of racist voter “suppression” otherwise.
Yet democracies in Europe and elsewhere tell a different story – of the benefits of stricter voter ID requirements after hard lessons learned.
  • ...Of 47 nations surveyed in Europe -- a place where, on other matters, American progressives often look to with envy -- all but one country requires a government-issued photo voter ID to vote
  • ...Seventy-four percent of European countries entirely ban absentee voting for citizens who reside domestically...Read all.

Kamala Harris Lashes Out at Univision Reporter - Louder With Crowder
"Racist Vice President Can't Hide Disdain for LatinX Reporter." That would be the headline if this were Mike Pence and not Kamala Harris. It would also be a headline written by a white liberal. You can tell by the use of the word "LatinX." Harris' terrible, horrible, no good, very bad Central America trip continues. This time with the vice president getting snippy when asked when she's going to visit the border. The old guy who she's waiting for to die put her in charge of fixing his border crisis. Going to the border to see the crisis she's supposed to fix shouldn't be this difficult of a question. Yet here we are again.

California offers $100 million to aid legal cannabis industry - Los Angeles Times
SACRAMENTO — The California Legislature on Monday approved a $100-million plan to bolster California’s legal marijuana industry, which continues to struggle to compete with the large illicit pot market nearly five years after voters approved sales for recreational use.
Los Angeles will be the biggest beneficiary of the money, which was proposed by Gov. Gavin Newsom to be provided as grants to cities and counties to help cannabis businesses transition from provisional to regular licenses...Read all.

But Swan wasn't finished yet. Before her time expired, she unloaded on the district superintendent, Barry Reilly, for attempting to cut her off and for dismissing her concerns during a previous meeting. Holding up a book purportedly used as a part of sex education curricula in Illinois schools, Swan charged that if the content is too sensitive for discussion at a board meeting then it is surely too sensitive to be taught to young children.

Yes!!-----Tom MacDonald - "Snowflakes"

oftwominds-Charles Hugh Smith: The Fed Is Wrong: Inflation Is Sticky

OfTwoMinds-Charles Hugh Smith: The Fed Is Wrong: Inflation Is Sticky
The Fed's god-like powers will be revealed for what they really are: artifice and illusion.
  • "The Fed will be proven catastrophically wrong about inflation for the simple reason that inflation isn't transitory, it's sticky: when prices rise due to real-world scarcities and higher costs, they stay high and then move higher as expectations catch up with reality.
  • Consider the dynamic of Fed-inflated bubbles raising rents. The house that once sold for $200,000 is sold to a pool of investors for $800,000, and the property taxes, insurance and debt service rise accordingly: even though the house didn't change, thanks to the Fed's bubble, the entire cost structure is higher.
  • So what happens next? The investors jack the rent up to cover the higher costs. As for refinancing to lower the monthly mortgage payment--that trend has reached the end of the line. As inflation gathers steam, mortgage rates can only go up, not down.
  • As for getting the county assessment office to lower the valuation on the house--good luck with that. The Ratchet Effect is in full force: assessed values rise easily and decline with great resistance...Read all.
