Everything Gavin Newsom Just Signed Into Law in California, From Toys to Cocktails to Leafblowers
"California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a raft of bills into law in recent days—including first-in-the-nation policies requiring gender-neutral toy sections in large retail stores and banning the removal of condoms during sex without consent.
..."I think it's important that we as a state are demonstrating our values of diversity and inclusion," he added.
...Also on Thursday, Newsom signed a bill to crack down on street racing and illegal driving demonstrations known as "sideshows." The legislation adds penalties for those who participate in illegal driving.
...Another piece of legislation will eventually ban new gas-powered leaf blowers and lawnmowers in California...by the beginning of 2024...Read all.

"...the academic left in particular are deeply insecure people..."

"FTA:From this and a lot of other observations piling up, I have a new theory of the intolerance of the left: the academic left in particular are deeply insecure people—often professionally insecure, despite the fortifications of tenure, but also intellectually insecure, which is why leftists mostly refuse to debate anyone any more. ...It is also the case that when you reduce everything to a question of power, and your will-to-power doesn’t have much effect off campus (until recently), you increasingly become intolerant, vindictive, and censorious to any dissent. And the demonization and intimidation the left uses is a feature, not a bug. Naturally the left calls this “justice.”

As I survey the current scene, I’m inclined to take the long view, which goes all the way back to Watergate. Florida Mom Calls for 'Mass Exodus' from Public Schools, Gets Ovation
A Florida mother has called for parents to lead a “mass exodus” from public schools in the wake of Attorney General Merrick Garland’s announcement that the FBI will investigate “intimidation” and “threats of violence” at school board meetings across the country.

Florida Mother Quisha King spoke during the panel “Fighting Indoctrination on a National Scale” at the Family Research Council’s “Pray Vote Stand Summit” in Virginia on October 7.

Government/media power as a terror weapon!-----THE TERRORS OF “JUSTICE”

THE TERRORS OF “JUSTICE,” IN RE: J. EASTMAN
"One of the ignored subtexts of Watergate is that a part of the fury behind the drive to get Nixon is that Nixon had made clear after his 1972 landslide his determination to challenge directly the power of the permanent bureaucracy, and thereby the power base of the Democratic Party
...But the Nixon saga led to a new phase in American politics, by which Democrats, in the form of their permanent government servants and media adjuncts, decided to criminalize political differences.
...The deep state hoped to get George W. Bush and/or Dick Cheney with the nonsense Valerie Plame “leak” investigation, “investigating” for months after the prosecutors knew that the leaker had been deep stater Richard Armitage, but finally issuing a technical indictment of Lewis Libby for a memory lapse in talking to the FBI. (And needless to say, President Bush was too much of a wimp to stop this travesty.)
  • This is how the FBI-DoJ Political Prosecution Complex (DPPC for short) works: if they decide to target you, they will come up with something.
Notice, in passing, how quickly Democrats got rid of the independent counsel statute when it became evident in the cases of Mike Espy and Bill Clinton that it could be used against Democrats.
It was meant only to be used against Republicans.
The playbook got its most complete workout with Trump, who was completely unacceptable to the establishment, and thus had to be destroyed with all of the tools carefully honed since Watergate.
Which brings us to the present moment, and the crusade being waged against my old graduate school classmate John Eastman
In giving legal advice to President Trump and Vice President Pence in the aftermath of the election, he can’t be charged with any plausible crime, so the mob is attempting an implausible one: that he was conspiring to overthrow our Constitution—essentially a coup.
A Trump lawyer wrote an instruction manual for a coup,” reads the breathless Washington Post headline, to give just one of the many many hyperbolic headlines...Read all!!!

Nikki Haley hits back at CNN anchor who claimed she 'whitewashed' US racism: 'Liberal media can't stand it when someone black or brown' lauds America - TheBlaze

Haley gave a speech Tuesday at the Reagan Presidential Library in which she said, "Take it from me, the first female and minority governor of South Carolina, America is not a racist country… As a brown girl growing up in a small southern town, I saw the promise of America unfold before me," the cable network noted in a previous story.

Keilar criticized Haley on Wednesday, saying she "whitewashed the ups and downs of the American experience with racism and the challenges still ahead, all apparently to appeal to the conservative base," Fox News added.

Nothing Green Ever Works: the perfect six-step environmental virtue loop | Daily Telegraph
  • One: Britain goes big on wind turbines in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from traditional power sources
  • Two: The wind don't blow and the power don’t flow.
  • Three: A subsequent massive increase in demand for natural gas as a power source drives wholesale gas prices through the roof.
  • Four: CF Fertilisers, a US-owned British fertiliser business that also produces carbon dioxide for commercial use, suspends production because high gas prices have made the business unprofitable.
  • Five: Carbon dioxide is a required component for meat packaging. Without reliable supplies of commercial carbon dioxide, Britain faces a food shortage.
  • Six: The British government, which spent millions of pounds to cut carbon dioxide emissions, will now give millions of pounds to CF Fertilisers so it can produce carbon dioxide.

‘Extreme opposition’ to school mask mandates target Michigan health officials with threats of violence
"...Public health officials across Michigan are facing threats of violence from their neighbors while anger over school masking requirements boils into calls to strip health departments of their power and funding.
Health officials are targets of harassment, death threats and accusations of treason being voiced in chaotic public meetings as parents and political activists demand an end to measures meant to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Expressions of intense anger over health rules are pitting school boards and county commissions against health officials who worry the outrage is derailing efforts to protect their communities...Read all.

The Untouchable: The Market Is Beyond the Fed's Reach - American Consequences

The Untouchable: The Market Is Beyond the Fed's Reach - American Consequences
"...In a capitalist system, there are no sacred cows… What no longer meets the needs of shareholders, customers, or both generally ceases to exist.
In centrally planned societies, that which employs us is generally a forever concept – hence the economic desperation.
Described more vividly, if readers are looking for evidence of economic retreat, they need only find the countries in which the lineup of top businesses remains the same year after year, decade after decade. It’s a near-certain sign of decline because growing country economies are magnets for copious investments that relentlessly fund the replacement of existing commercial giants...
  • Circuit City was the top-performing U.S. stock in the 1980s, by the 2020s it had vanished.
  • Blockbuster’s story is much of the same. In the ’80s and ’90s, “Blockbuster Nights” were so common that the home-video-rental leader continued trying to expand the business model into the 2000s...
  • General Electric (GE) was the most valuable company in the world, with a market cap of $585 billion.
  • The company viewed as the next GE, and crowned as such on the cover of Barron’s, was Tyco
  • Enron was then seen as one of the best-managed companies in the world.
  • The Internet increasingly factored into how we lived and worked, at which point Yahoo and AOL were the dominant players…
What has been written so far is hopefully a reminder that natural recessions and market corrections are signals of progress rather than scenarios we should fear.
They’re very often indicators that good is being replaced with great.
This is why we should shudder every time politicians promise to “bring back” jobs, or to fiddle with market forces that are delivering near-term pain – whereby ailing companies are allowed to fail...Read all.

A COVID Correction for the Ages Points to a Bigger Agenda
"...And when it comes to a topic such as COVID-19, where fear begets power, you can bet “errors” will be made in the name of the narrative.
A perfect example of this came via a Times correction today that can only be described as epic. Here’s how it read.

The original article is ostensibly a news write-up on the promotion of vaccines for children under 12 around the world.
As you can see, the piece was full of false information, from far overstating COVID hospitalizations for children in the United States to misstating vaccination policies in Sweden.
...I think a bigger agenda is revealed here, though...Read all.
