Networks Ignore BIG GOP Gubernatorial Win in Louisiana | Newsbusters
"On Saturday, Republicans won a massive victory by winning their first gubernatorial election in the state since 2011 when the state’s attorney general Jeff Landry beat his Democrat opponent.
This victory is even more impressive that he won over 50 percent of the vote and managed to avoid a run-off.
  • On Sunday morning, ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS Sunday Morning, and NBC’s Sunday Today ignored this Republican win.
Instead of reporting on Landry’s victory, the networks wasted valuable airtime with news of Best Buy discontinuing the sale of DVDs (ABC), an interview with The Rolling Stones (CBS), and an interview with Taylor Swift’s manager Jack Antonoff (NBC)...

"IRANIAN OPERATIVES IN LONDON NEED TO START DISAPPEARING: Iran accused of threatening ‘terrified’ BBC staff in London.

The Guardian has been told that journalists at the BBC’s Persian language news outlet are being targeted with offensive messages and threats of sexual assault, with reports of family members based in Iran being arbitrarily detained.

In one message, an Iranian-British journalist working for the BBC says she was told: “On Westminster Bridge is a very deep river. It doesn’t matter that you don’t live in Iran – we can also do whatever we want in London.”

The proper response of a civilized government to threats like this is Al Capone-like. -

Amid calls to #TaxTheChurches – what and how much do US religious organizations not pay the taxman?

Amid calls to #TaxTheChurches – what and how much do US religious organizations not pay the taxman?
"...Auditing the house of God
  • Most religious organizations are exempt from a variety of taxes that individuals and businesses are required to pay, like income and property taxes...
  • It is important to note that faith organizations can be exempt from paying taxes solely based on their religious work, not for any other charitable endeavors...
  • Additionally, unlike charities, churches and other places of worship are not required to report any financial information to the IRS. The IRS encourages churches to do so, but they are not required to...
  • In many places in the U.S., income is taxed at the local, state and federal levels. Religious institutions do not pay any income tax at any level of government
  • Additionally, individuals and corporations that donate to religions can deduct those expenses – once they are above a specific amount – from their taxable income...

How Hamas reached Israel’s Kfar Aza kibbutz

How Hamas reached Israel’s Kfar Aza kibbutz - Anshel Pfeffer
  • Hamas owed its operational success to having studied for years every possible chink in Israel’s armor
"...The event that was mentioned most often was Israel’s previous intelligence failure at the start of the Yom Kippur War, exactly fifty years ago.
Other military debacles that came up were Pearl Harbor, 9/11 and the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam.
...All had many points in common that are worth considering, but there is one major difference between those historic episodes and what happened on the Israel/Gaza border...
  • The military wing of the radical Islamist movement is based on local battalions, each drawing its members from the same neighborhood or town.
  • And their targets were the Israelis living in kibbutzim (traditional agriculture-based Israeli communes) and small towns just across the border...

Harvard, 2023's Worst School for Free Speech, Claims Commitment to 'Free Expression' for Pro-Hamas Students

While Harvard says it is committed to protecting free speech on paper, the university has “a dismal record of responding to deplatforming attempts — attempts to sanction students, student groups, scholars, and speakers for speech protected under First Amendment standards,” FIRE said.

From 2019 to this year, for example, Harvard sanctioned four scholars, three of whom the school terminated.

Era of ‘Unquestioned and Unchallenged’ Climate Change Claims Is Over
  • New studies undercut the ‘scientifically empty’ warming narrative, says astrophysicist and aerospace engineer. - By Alex Newman
"Leading voices in the climate community are in an uproar as their warming hypothesis comes under fresh assault by new scientific papers.
  • The authors of the papers are being attacked and say that “activist scientists” threatened by the new findings are “aggressively conducting an orchestrated disinformation campaign to discredit the papers and the scientific reputation of the authors.”
...The reason that climate activists are so upset is that the findings of the new papers—a trio of peer-reviewed studies by astrophysicist Willie Soon and dozens of other scientists from around the world—are casting further doubt on the narrative of man-made global warming...
Ms. Curry, author of "Climate Uncertainty and Risk," who has a post by the lead authors on her blog Climate Etc. to provide a forum for discussion, said the new paper raises “an important issue that is swept under the rug by the IPCC and many climate scientists.”
In particular, it has major implications for how 20th-century climate records are interpreted, she said...
