The right to travel freely is a fundamental right; as such, it is protected under the Privileges and Immunities Clause of Article IV and the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment.
The Court's reasoning was grounded in the principle that such taxes would infringe upon a fundamental right and exceed the permissible scope of state taxation powers.
Since all citizens have the right to move around freely, a state cannot impose taxes that interfere with their ability to leave.
The bottom line is the government does not have the right to charge you by the mile, no matter what these legislators may think. But legal niceties are of little interest to budding authoritarians looking for more cash from their subjects.
I was thinking about Trump’s disruptor cabinet over the weekend after hearing Andrew McCabe express his concerns about Kash Patel becoming the head of the FBI.
McCabe, a guy with Russia Hoax conspirator and lying under oath before Congress on his resume, stated: …there is a lot of damage someone like Kash Patel could do in a position like deputy director at the FBI…”
I was in my office when the clip was run on TV, and I heard my wife (from our den) say (loudly) to the TV: “That is the point!”
Trump’s “disruptor” cabinet is the most important effort on behalf of individual rights and freedoms since the signing of the Declaration of Independence...
Canadian officials have spoken about the possibility of a migrant surge into their country early on since Trump's victory.
"We started planning because we knew that there were a lot of people in the United States who will fear to be deported, and if that happens, they won't wait for the Trump administration to seize power, it's more likely that they will attempt to cross into Canada from now in the next few weeks until he takes on power," RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Charles Poirier said on CTV News earlier in November.
Trudeau's government did not have the same response to Trump's first-term crackdown on illegal migrants.
Trudeau: He Parties at Taylor Swift Concert While Muslims Riot in Montreal. Our northern border is inundated with Muslims that the communist Trudeau let in, who hate America.
Universities: Should Federal Funds Go to Those Who Inculcate Hatred of Israel or Praise Hamas? Of course not, but they are...
Biden’s DEI: Starting on January 20, President Trump’s administration will undo this DEI madness, especially in the nation’s schools, one federal grant at a time. Schools that have been engaging in racial discrimination in order to promote “diversity, equity, and inclusion” will be sued for civil rights violations; those schools that have received federal money for DEI programs will be taxed on those DEI endowments. And the federal financial spigot, that under Biden was providing $1 billion a year to promote all DEI programs, will be turned off. Hallelujah! One more reason January 20 can’t come soon enough...
We’ll prioritize K-12 curricula on history, civics, and government while removing divisive content based on race, class, religion, sex, or sexual identity. And that’s just the start.
Imagine these words as the first speech delivered by Donald Trump’s incoming secretary of education.
Today, I am here to deliver bitter medicine: American education has failed. Teachers and parents, administrators and government — and even students — all bear some responsibility.
That would actually benefit people, both here and abroad. Case in point: filmmaker, producer, and actor Rob Reiner, AKA “Meathead,” recently found himself in the grip of a particularly debilitating bout with TDS.
Not long after Election Day, Reiner tweeted: “I’m finding it very hard to sleep these days. It is 3:15 am. I am laying awake dreading January 20th 2025.”...
Finally, Meathead tweeted: “I have made the decision to take the next few days to check into a facility for peace and relaxation. No phones, social media, no trolls, just calmness to heal my pain.”...
FACT-O-RAMA! Hillary Clinton was fined $,8,000 for not disclosing that she spent $1 million in campaign funds to help pay for the bogus "Steele dossier," which was intended to hurt Trump before the 2016 election. Trump, accused of the same crime - falsifying business records - was charged with and convicted of 34 felonies.
Then there are those pro-lifers who were locked up for saying prayers in front of abortion clinics, including a 75-year-old woman in a wheelchair, and her 74-year-old sister, who both snagged two years in the federal hoosegow.
Antifa princess Urooj Rahman was sent to prison for a mere 15 months for burning a police car, a charge that would normally send someone away for five to 10 years. That five-year sentence was given to yet another pro-lifer.
Though most Antifa anarchists had their charges dropped, those who went to court were granted speedy trials.
January 6 prisoners, many of them non-violent, are still in prison awaiting trial...
The walk-out was organized by MSU Students United Against Fascism, in collaboration with the Hurriya Coalition and the Young Communist League of MSU, and held in the Demonstration Hall field...
The Hurriya Coalition is a pro-terrorist Muslim student group...
I should explain though that the Young Communist League is completely integrated within the leftist activist groups at MSU. That includes a Sunrise Movement chapter coordinating with the Young Communist League...
While Baker was there as a journalist, like so many others who did not feel the wrath of the DOJ upon them, the justice system seems to believe he was there as a rioter.
“You must have been so relieved when Trump was elected,” Pat Gray of “Pat Gray Unleashed” tells Baker, who confirms Gray’s assumption.
“That was a big part of my decision, because my pre-trial hearing was the morning after the election,” Baker explains. “It was brutal. The judge really showed his intolerance.”
A new report by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), which assesses the United States and Canada’s grid reliability, finds that much of the central and eastern U.S. could experience blackouts should a significant and lasting cold snap descend on the nation.
The areas under the greatest risk of blackouts are those where coal- and natural gas-fired power plants have been taken offline, as well as those who have limited pipeline capacity to ensure secure supplies of natural gas...
The discussion of a potential Musk bid for MSNBC is catching fire on his social media network, X (formerly Twitter), after a post by President-elect Donald J. Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., suggesting Musk purchase the tanking network. "Hey [Elon Musk] I have the funniest idea ever!!!" he wrote on Friday, prompting Musk to respond: "How much does it cost?"
