The Trump Administration will not cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits. President Trump himself has said it (over and over and over again).Elon Musk didn’t say that, either. The press is lying again.
- Here is Musk’s direct quote: “The waste and fraud in entitlement spending — which is most of the federal spending is entitlements — so, that’s, like, the big one to eliminate. That’s the, sort of half-trillion, maybe $6-700 billion a year.”
- FACT: The U.S. Government Accountability Office estimates taxpayers lose as much as $521 billion annually to fraud — and most of that is within entitlement programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid.
- FACT: Over the past two decades, the federal government has made an estimated $2.7 trillion in “improper payments” — the majority of which come in the form of “payments to deceased individuals or those who no longer [are] eligible for government programs.”
- FACT: The Social Security Administration made an estimated $72 billion in improper payments between 2015 and 2022.
- FACT: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services estimated it made $140+ billion in improper payments in 2024 alone.
What kind of a person doesn’t support eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending that ultimately costs taxpayers more?

I’m sure readers have seen the stories over the past week or more about the discovery that virtually all White House docs were not signed by Zhou—they were signed by a machine, an autopen machine. Naturally that discovery has led to speculation about the validity of such “signatures,” the identity of the person(s) operating the machine, whether Zhou had knowledge of all, most, or only a few of the docs that were executed in this manner...
Shipwreckedcrew has written an article for Red State that raises a very specific issue with regard to the autopen ops, in combination with the final Zhou pardons.
Of course, there’s the issue of whether pardons signed in this manner are even valid.
- However, a very recent firing raises that issue more sharply, and that is the firing of the DoJ Pardon Attorney, Liz Oyer, who was in charge of the pardon process.
- Specifically, the manner of the firing suggests that DoJ was anxious to prevent Oyer from destroying evidence, which would only be the case if there was an active investigation:
But there was a noteworthy aspect of her dismissal that was reported by the Wall Street Journal the day after her firing – she was immediately escorted from the building by security.
This is done when there is an ongoing investigation that the individual is likely unaware of, and those conducting the investigation want to preserve all electronic records that might be available on a computer and cell phone. Asking her to leave immediately prevents any attempt to delete such records.

A special envoy of the Trump administration said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had apologized in a letter to President Donald Trump and called it "progress" toward a minerals deal.
Special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff told Fox News that Zelenskyy had reached out to make amends after an explosive disagreement between him, the president, and the vice president over a proposed minerals deal.
Since Democrats are in meltdown over the fired Inspectors General, remember that Norm Eisen fired IGs for clearly political reasons under Obama.
The Inspector General for the Corporation for National and Community Service (AmeriCorps) Gerald Walpin was fired by Eisen after his tough oversight efforts to hold senior officials accountable for excusing a friend/Obama crony who mismanaged charter school funds and was sexually inappropriate towards students. 
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Senate Finance Committee put out a 62 page report, “The Firing of the Inspector General for the CNCS,” outlined how Obama allies and Eisen were able to remove Walpin without a formal review.
- The White House Counsel’s Office withheld information from Congress and misled investigators after Rep. Issa and Sen. Grassley questioned the President’s methods and motives for removing Walpin.
- There was sizable evidence the removal was motivated by a desire to protect a friend and political ally of the President, Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson...

Newsom was specifically referring to his unwillingness to agree with Kirk that men should not compete in women’s sports, arguing that for him it is a matter of “principle,” not politics.
“I deeply am mindful of the politics of this, which are very unhelpful personally, and unhelpful more broadly and professionally to the Democratic Party and our brand,” Newsom added. “The Democratic Party brand has just been crushed.”
