‘A Delusional Whack-Job’: Blaze Readers React to Planned Parenthood Boss’ Criticism of 20-Week Abortion Ban | TheBlaze.com

‘A Delusional Whack-Job’: Blaze Readers React to Planned Parenthood Boss’ Criticism of 20-Week Abortion Ban | TheBlaze.com:

"TheBlaze posted a story earlier this week about Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, criticizing lawmakers for passing a 20-week abortion ban.

On the two-year anniversary of the conviction of infamous abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, the U.S. House on Wednesday passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would ban abortions after nearly five months.

Richards went on a Twitter rant saying the ban lacks “compassion” and “respect” and is “unconstitutional” and will “hurt women.”

Just the beginning of the massive rate increases, folks. Just the beginning.......DTE Energy: Says Working To Have Its Consumers To Pay Less, Asks To Raise Rates At Same Time

DTE Energy: Says Working To Have Its Consumers To Pay Less, Asks To Raise Rates At Same Time
Many of you have heard the DTE  Energy commercials on
radio and TV stating how they are working to cut costs and want consumers to pay less.  They also state they natural gas prices are the lowest they have been since 2008 and that they buy their natural gas during the summer months when rates are low.   DTE says that they store that natural gas so it is ready for winter.

Well if gas prices are so low and DTE wants us to pay less, why are they seeking a rate increase that could on average raise one's bill by $39 annually?

Here is the press release DTE snuck out during the slow news period of the holidays and on the slowest news day of any week, a Friday:

Friday December 19th, 2014
DTE Electric, a subsidiary of DTE Energy, has filed its first electric residential rate increase in four years.
Because of already-planned rate adjustments, commercial and industrial customers will actually see a rate reduction since the last rate case.
DTE is asking the Michigan Public Service Commission to recover investments made over the last four years to ensure adequate electric supply, improve reliability and install environmental controls at its power plants to reduce emissions...

No money for children. Lots for union bosses!-----Lansing Schools: MEA President Steve Cook's Deal Never Considered 'Long Term Thing'

Lansing Schools: MEA President Steve Cook's Deal Never Considered 'Long Term Thing' [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"In 1993, Steve Cook was a Lansing School District paraprofessional working 25 hours a week.
That was before he made a deal with the district allowing him to go to work full time for the state’s largest teachers union but still rack up "service time credits" toward his school pension.
The deal even allowed Cook to make his union salary the basis on which the eventual payout from his government pension would be based.
Nearly 25 years later that agreement has paved the way for Cook to collect a school pension estimated at $105,000 a year when he retires, despite working just 15 years in a part-time school position... "

The reason: She sprained her ankle last year.

The New York Post reported early Sunday on the lawsuit, in which the 28-year-old Sharpton claims to have been “severely injured, bruised and wounded” when she stumbled over uneven pavement in New York City last October.

But how badly injured is her ankle, really?

News of the lawsuit comes a day after Sharpton, who is currently vacationing in Bali, posted a mountaintop photo on Instagram with the caption, “We hiked UP the mountain.”

Construction begins on 'urban lake house' development at Terrace Point Landing | MLive.com:
"An added attraction is the fact the development is in a Neighborhood Enterprise Zone, meaning property taxes on the homes will be cut by about half.
The 10.75-acre development will feature homes set close together on narrow lots, with residents sharing ownership of a pool with hot tub and beach area.
There also will be a forested common area and overflow parking lot with shared ownership.
All exterior maintenance – including landscaping and snow plowing – will be provided.
Lots range in price from $45,000 to $139,900.
Those on the waterfront include the option of having a private boat dock.
All owners have the opportunity to lease a slip at the adjacent Terrace Point Marina, which Rooks said originally was built for the residential development.
Marina tenants have access to a club house, pool and other amenities as well as the indoor pool and fitness facility at the adjacent Shoreline Inn, which Parkland Properties also owns."

Do NOT believe the liberal media!!-----A Mickey Mouse Operation

Arnold Ahlert: A Mickey Mouse Operation — The Patriot Post
In his farewell speech, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned America about the perils of the “military industrial complex” and the disastrous rise of misplaced power” that would accompany such a union.
Today, America suffers from something far more dangerous: the “Democrat media complex,” and its latest poster boy for corruption, George Stephanopoulos.
Last Thursday, Stephanopoulos apologized for failing to disclose he had donated $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation. “I made charitable donations to the Foundation in support of the work they’re doing on global AIDS prevention and deforestation, causes I care about deeply,” he said, dancing around the reality there are plenty of other organizations dedicated to fighting AIDS. “I thought that my contributions were a matter of public record. However, in hindsight, I should have taken the extra step of personally disclosing my donations to my employer and to the viewers on air during the recent news stories about the Foundation. I apologize.”
His donations were public record assuming anyone dug through Clinton Foundation records, which, you may have noticed, are hard to come by.
ABC quickly circled the wagons. “He’s admitted to an honest mistake and apologized for that omission. We stand behind him,” the network said in a statement.
Why wouldn’t they?

Rand Paul: "Was it a good idea to invade Libya? Did that make us less safe?"

Rand Paul: "Was it a good idea to invade Libya? Did that make us less safe?" - Hit & Run : Reason.com
Rand Paul: ...I think when Hussein was toppled, we got chaos. We still have chaos in-- in Iraq. I think it emboldened Iran. I think—we now have the rise of radical Islam in Iraq as well. But I think the same question, to be fair, ought to be asked of Hillary Clinton, if she ever takes questions.
They should ask her, "Was it a good idea to invade Libya? Did that make us less safe? Did it make it more chaotic? Did it allow radical Islam and I.S.I.S. to grow stronger?" So I think the war in Iraq is a good question and still a current question, but so is the question of, "Should we have gone into Libya?..."

The Feds Would Like Kids To Stop Posting Pictures Of Their Nasty School Lunches Please And Thank You - Chicks on the Right:

"I was starting to wonder what was taking them so long.

We’ve documented Michelle Obama’s less than appetizing (that’s putting it nicely) school lunches. And at first, I was like, "Hey, this is pretty funny!" And as a citizen who wholeheartedly believes in personal responsibility, I thought, heck. If you’re sending your kids to public school and don’t like the lunches, pack them yourself!"

Corporate welfare cheats!!-----Secret Subsidies Cost Michigan Taxpayers Billions

Secret Subsidies Cost Michigan Taxpayers Billions | The Daily Caller:
"Michigan’s corporate welfare agency recently admitted it began withholding recipient information years ago after receiving “informal advice” that was never made public.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) stopped disclosing the names of the companies it subsidizes in 2009, instead listing the totals by industry.
It was not until recently, however, that the agency answered questions about what inspired the policy change, Michigan Capitol Confidential reported Thursday.

Student debt is a bomb waiting to detonate-here's how to avoid the blast

Student debt is a bomb waiting to detonate-here's how to avoid the blast - Watchdog.org

The time bomb of college debt is ticking for over 10 percent of our population:
40 million Americans now have at least one outstanding student loan, according to new analysis from credit bureau Experian. That’s up from 29 million consumers in 2008.
And this debt, which amounts to $1.2 trillion collectively and which cannot be retired in bankruptcy, is not just hitting the young:
“We’re seeing a rise in the number of people with two generations of debt: People who are paying for their children’s education, but also paying off their old student loans,” said Richard Vedder, director of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, which researches the rising costs of higher education.
Older workers, who have lost jobs, have found it difficult to get re-hired, leading them to fall behind on repaying their loans. And their kids, who may have shouldered the burden of repaying their loans, also haven’t been able to find well-paying jobs..."

"Unlike the media, Chuck isn’t afraid to specifically pinpoint all of Hillary’s many faults, which is why he just published a new column that does exactly that.

Chuck started his column by first addressing Hillary’s most-recent scandals.

“Hillary clearly discarded the Freedom of Information Act and federal government requirements through the former secretary of state’s use of a private email account for all her official business and then dumping half of her email,” he wrote."

Media Gets Pope’s Abbas Comments Wrong

Media Gets Pope’s Abbas Comments Wrong | The Weekly Standard
If anyone needs further evidence of why the news agencies often can’t be trusted to report accurately on Israel and the Palestinians, and why major news outlets such as the New York Times and the BBC should stop repeating agency copy without verifying it, here is an important example from this weekend.
According to Italian and Spanish news outlets and according to the Vatican’s own website, Pope Francis told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that he could be an angel of peace. “May you be an angel of peace,” he urged Abbas, effectively saying that if Abbas would take the decision to accept one of the peace offers that various Israeli prime ministers have made to him, or at least make a serious counter-offer, he could be an angel of peace. The pope did not say that Abbas – infamous for ordering the Munich Olympic massacre, among many other atrocities – was “an angel of peace.”
And yet the BBC and New York Times were among dozens of prominent news outlets that claimed he did.
The New York Times reports today (Page A11 under the headline: “At Vatican, Abbas Is Praised as ‘Angel of Peace’”):
“Mr. Abbas’s meeting with the pope ended with an exchange of gifts. Presenting Mr. Abbas with a medallion, the pope said it depicted an angel of peace ‘destroying the bad spirit of war.’ It was an appropriate gift, the pope added, since “you are an angel of peace.”
